  1. Only 3.5 hours for me so maybe I'm lucky.
  2. Thanks. I'll keep this thread up to date. It was a toss up between Bristol and Swindon as I live pretty much equal distance from both.
  3. Yeah that annoyed me too. The first guy explained they will always send out a van before a flatbed. Transmission or driveshaft would be puzzling to say the least even though it sounds like it could be the issue. I just can't see how it can just fail. I bought the car from Poole but it's going in to Bristol as that's who I intend to use for servicing. Plus I'd prefer it not to go back to where I bought it from so I I'll get impartial and unbiased feedback.
  4. AA man checked engine mounts and reported all good. It's not even as if went over a bump. So it's got me thinking is this something from before I bought the car. I looked all over the internet whilst waiting for the AA. Checked for Prius and Lexus. Nothing apart from clunking on a cold start but I've never had that issue. I've already asked Lexus Bristol to have a good look at the car when they get it Just glad I bought it from a Lexus main dealership with a warranty.
  5. Keep thinking it must be something trivial but it didn't sound like it. It's bizarre.
  6. I was driving over a small bridge and a van had stopped on the other side. So I braked from around 20mph to a stand still. No drama. No skid. Just sharp braking. I've been driving for almost 30 years and braked harder in my driving test to be honest. If braking like that can cause something to fail on the CT then I'll be selling it. Just for info too this is completely out of the blue. No prior warning.
  7. Thanks. I certainly hope so. The AA are obligated to provide a car for the first three days but I can make do without for three days. But Im obviously very interested to find out what's gone wrong as everything I'd read before and since suggests these cars are bullet proof. Time to find out how good Lexus customer service really is.
  8. Hi thanks for the reply. Jan 2016 CT bought in September 2019 from Lexus Poole with full service history and full 12 months Lexus Used Approved warranty But it had missed the 30k service and had the Full 40 done at the same dealer at 37k miles. I bought the car just after with about 38k on the clock. It's got just over 43k miles on the clock now. It will be with Lexus Bristol in the morning. Thanks again.
  9. A few hours ago I had to brake fairly sharp to a standstill on a country road. Nothing major. No skid, no anti lock brakes triggering. Went to pull away and engine kicks in but sounded awful. Seemed to lack power and there was a clunking noise. I've pulled up and called Lexis assist. AA turn up 90 minutes later and I asked him how much he knew about these cars. He said he never sees them as they don't break down. He replicated the fault and greed with me it seems to be transmission. Awful vibration with engine running. Just waiting for a flatbed to put the car in overnight storage and delivery to Lexus in the morning. Another 90 minute wait. I explained to the dealers I scoured the internet to identify a car that was reliable and great on fuel, nice looking and nice to drive. With a great dealer network. Everything pointed to the Lexus CT. So this is massively disappointing.
  10. I'm a tad over 6'1" and have no issues other than sometimes with my left shin. I have my seat as low as it goes. Mine is an Advance Plus.
  11. Literally roasting in the CT before I’ve left the car park at work. Very impressive.
  12. I’ve only had my CT for a month but for the past week I had an IS300H F Sport whilst mine was with the dealer having a couple of things sorted. I was originally after an IS but was concerned about the fuel consumption so went with a CT. IS pros: Feels more solid with better quality interior materials all round. Quicker Quieter when pushed hard. Better Seats. These were electric with better build, materials and adjustment. Lots more room inside. I was surprised how big. Similar to my previous Jaguar XF. CT pros: Much better on fuel. Between 10 and 20 mpg better dependent on journey and driving style. Heated seats are much better. Almost instant and warmer too. I prefer the shifter. The IS shifter is very notchy to use. After getting in the IS I was worried I’d end up regretting not getting one. But in all honesty I’m glad to have the CT back. I do feel it’s more of a posh Toyota compared to the IS being a full blown Lexus, but the fuel consumption is not to be underestimated and was very important for me. And this outweighs any of the pros of the IS for my usage case. It just means my wife is going to need a bigger car.
  13. Bloody hell. I misread that mileage at first. That's incredible. Just checked mine again in the carpark. It only happens if the brakes are applied gently. If I plant my foot and clamp the discs then spin the steering wheel there is no noise. If I spin the steering wheel without the brakes applied at all there is no noise. So nothing to worry about and appears to be normal. Thanks everyone for your feedback. Cheers.
  14. Very nice car that Thomas. Lexus seem to have changed their priorities on the later variants as they have loaded the base CT with Safety Kit and then charge extra for the niceties. I'm very happy with my CT. Other than the smart wheel repair paint has peeled already and I notice another wheel is a different colour to the others. I have three in the darkened colour (standard with Sonic White) and one in more of an an anthracite colour (standard with Sonic Titanium). I'll probably get them all stripped and painted in Anthracite or Shadow Chrome. I do miss the camera though. Especially in the dark as with only one reversing light I can't see sh*t. Cheers.
  15. Cheers John and thanks for the welcome. I'll have a look at the discs later. My Jaguar XF was cursed with pulsating brakes which I used to cure temporarily with heavy breaking exercises at high speed. The rough sound at low speeds isn't too much of a concern to be honest as compared to my Jaguar they are perfectly fine. My main concern was the graunching sound when turning the steering wheel with the brakes applied when stationary. Very noticeable when parking for instance. I'll have another play later in the carpark. It may well be caused by the front wheels trying to rotate against the brakes when turning the steering wheel. Cheers.
  16. Morning All, When stationary and drive is engaged with my foot on the brake pedal, if I turn the steering wheel I get a load groaning / creaking noise. I figure it's the brakes as if I put the car in park or neutral with the brakes released it doesn't happen. As a side note when travelling at low speed in a carpark for instance or approaching a junction to stop, the brakes do sound rough. So just wondering if this is a trait of the CT due to the mechanical brakes not getting used too often? Not so bothered about the brakes sounding rough at low speeds, but the groaning / creaking when parking the car is quite annoying. Like I say it's only with the brake pedal applied. Cheers.
  17. Good morning all. I've noticed my offside rear door makes a different sound to the others. It doesn't quite have the same re-assuring 'thud' when closing. On closer inspection it sits proud from the rear quarter panel around 1-2mm when closed. Has anyone ever adjusted the strike/catch/latch that sits on the wheel arch? The base is covered with a plastic cap which is tricky to remove. I just want to check it can be done without access to the underside which would require removal of the trim under the wheel arch. If it's aggro I'll get the main dealership that sold me the car to do it. Cheers.

  19. I just did. Any Lexus under 10 years old which has covered less than 140k miles at point of sale from Lexus main dealer qualifies for purchase of extended warranty. Irrespective of service history.
  20. Yep.... New MOT. Just wondering where I stand on the warranty should I wish to extend it before the 12 months warranty runs out. It's a Lexus Warranty provided by the main dealer. Will Lexus sell me an extended warranty if one service was missed by a previous owner? Cheers.
  21. Cheers all. Bought a car today. Advance Plus in Sonic White Two Tone with Black Roof. Very, very tidy car. It has a spare wheel in the boot too which was a nice surprise. Just got to wait a week before I can get it. No camera so will have to learn how to use mirrors again. Sent from my ONEPLUS A5010 using Tapatalk

  23. Good evening all, Off to look at a CT200H in the morning at a main dealer but just found out it missed its service at 30k miles and has just had its Full 40 done at 37k. So not a full service history. I’m told it won’t affect the warranty they’ll give it but I’m thinking about future resale value. Just checked and the MOT was performed 9 months ago at 31k miles so mileage appears to add up ok. Anyone have any thoughts on how important the missed service is? Thanks in advance.
  24. Thanks for that. It’s possible that the camera came as standard later on I guess. Looking forward to having a look at the car and taking it for a drive. Very different car from my Jaguar XF with half the power but need a well built solid car that’s very reliable and good on fuel. The CT looks like it should do the trick. Thanks again.
  25. Good evening all, Ive just put down a deposit on an early 2015 (MY14) CT200H Advance Plus. I’ve just been advised it doesn’t in fact have a reversing camera and I thought they were standard fit. Can anyone shed any light on this? I’ve yet to view the car in person. Also can you let me know your thoughts on whether the cameras are a must on these as they were on my previous car that I got rid of earlier today. Many thanks in advance.
