On the Lexus paintwork yes. On my wife’s Audi paintwork it still works but to a lesser degree so the clearcoat must be “harder”.

A friend of mine makes a living from recalibrating the ADAS systems after cars have had a new windscreen.

I have the tech and safety pack with the triple LED headlights and I think that the AHB turns the individual elements up and down so as not to dazzle other road users. Glad I’m not the only one who’s found that switching it off and putting high beam on manually is a lot brighter too - thought I was imagining things.

Dash binnacle display, scroll left or right with the steering wheel arrow buttons until you get to Drive Info (IIRC). Scroll down to the TPMS display and G-force meter (aka the “brakes work” meter).

This seems an appropriate place to post this; I’ve found that the paint on my car is significantly softer than that of my other car or the wife’s car. So much so, that bird splats will “etch” into the paint regularly. Despite what people think, this “etching” isn’t the acids in the shizzle but is caused by the clearcoat heating up in the sun but not under the splat. I use the wife’s old hairdryer to reflow the clearcoat where the bird splat has been and after 30-45 seconds on pretty concentrated heat it completely disappears. (I also wouldn’t use a waterless wash but then again I wouldn’t name my car either 🤷🏻♂️) 😂

I have an ES loaner. I'm having a Victor Kiam moment...

Mine is. There’s a picture on here somewhere of me picking it up with my pants on over my trousers too 😂 -
Just had my 1st service (about 6 months later than planned) and spoke to Lexus Newcastle about the issue with my Nav always resetting to North as soon as you come out of the screen. Despite guidance on here I’d been unable to apply the updates but discussed this with the tech and also enquired about CarPlay at the same time. He told me they’d just got the CarPlay update info down this week but haven’t had the opportunity to test it out yet also confirmed that my nav was “bonkers” and they couldn’t understand why it was resetting that and other settings. Suggested they could update my nav and also use my car as a guinea pig for CarPlay too - was told the request has been put in and they’ll give me a call when it’s ready to apply 👍

A bit of #CoronaWork - Gtechniq C2V3 topped with Zymöl Concours Wax. I must say that whatever powdercoat finish Lexus do to their wheels, these are the easiest to clean out of any wheel I’ve ever cleaned! Keep meaning to C5 them but they come up amazingly with just a light wash.

Not done it yet - been away and then been all over with work. Now working from home for the foreseeable future so will give it a go this week and report back.

Thanks - I know how to change the view as I have to do it every time I use the car. @pobrown - navigation software version is showing as 1520 so I’ll look at updating this as 1530 seems to report fixing the issue I have. Good spot, thanks.

A friend has just picked one of these up for his Porsche Cayman and it works really well. https://carplay2air.com To echo above comments, a shame that the USBs are in such a stupid place!

I have the Nav set to the top being the direction of travel but it seems to reset to top being North as and when it feels like it. Also - the Home screen always has top as North irrespective of what setting you have the actual Nav screen in. Is it just me???

My first service will be due in April, will see what Lexus Newcastle can do. 👍

I’ve quickly learned to do this too - I think of it like rubbing Buddha’s Belly for luck (or in this case - vision).

I believe that May is their “Sports Cars in the Park” event. It’s a bit of a free-for-all from an organisational (or lack of) point of view so PCGB haven’t supported it the last couple of years. Unfortunately - like Specialist Cars of Malton’s Big Breakfast Meet these things tend to become a bit of a Chavalanche!

Newby Hall - May 2020 ???

I do plenty of things with Porsche Club GB already - given the low numbers of ES owners maybe its worth piggybacking onto a larger car event that’s already taking place? I’m only “up the road” anyway so will keep an eye out.

And a very generous offer it was - how could I not. In the spirit of things - I’ll match it when I get home too 👍 Loving the car, enjoying working out all the quirks of the menu system and was both surprised and delighted that the central Tacho display physically moves to reveal extra functions - I only ever test drove the non-F Sports so that was a Brucie Bonus.

It’s like why do men still have nipples? 😯 My dad had a Maserati without a gear stick - just the buttons cribbed from the Ferrari F430 - and it never felt quite right. So I guess it’s just what (probably American) buyers in this sector “expect” rather than any other reason.
