  1. Frank, As Piers said - thank you for the update - and I too hope all goes well...... I have a thought that owning an RX is just like owning a cat - we don't own it - - it owns us!
  2. Forgive me, (for I've not fully researched your question) - but I would contact these chaps..... https://lexuspartsdirect.co.uk/?s=boot+liner&post_type=product
  3. Indeed. I sought quotations this year 28 days before my (then) current insurance expred, and to start ONE DAY BEFORE my current policy end-date. The best quote was from my (then) current insurer, the new quote was £382 The renewal quote (for the then current) policy was £442 - (from the same insurer!) So I bought the policy starting a day earlier, (and received £65 cashback from the rebate house.) Am now in beer for an extra week (or so) 😊
  4. Effectively, what Swinton are doing is 'trying it on'. A discussion with them will do you no harm at all! The other option you have, of course, is to simply cancel your current policy, (for which they will probably charge you £50 cancellation fee, and they are then required to return the balance. You can then buy a new policy from whomsoever you wish. I would also suggest you use a cashback/rebate company (suchas Quidco or TopCashBack, (I shop around every year - and have always had a rebate of between £50<>£80 doing this. (it will take 4~5 months to get the rebate - but it pays for the beer!
  5. Ken - - - - Oh how I wish you were mistaken - alas - you're correct! Thank you. (I shall maintain a degree of embarrassment, and quietly but firmly abuse myself in the corner of the room)
  6. Great stuff.... and thanks for the update Ronan
  7. Herbs - you're substantially more discrete that I would be.....
  8. At our car's last annual service we were presented with a pair of Lexus branded facemasks! And breathe (safely)
  9. Service
  10. Snigger
  11. Attach a piece of one of the stronger smelling cheeses (Stinking Bishop or Camembert) to a small chain from the rear of the car - then any furry friends will make their nest away from your engine bay. . It would work for me.
  12. Russell, Compared to many members on this forum I am not an expert in RX electrics - - but recall from reading previous posts on this subject - - I'd start by looking at the condition/charge level of the 12v battery. I had similar problms a year or so ago, and discovered that it was the degraded condition (inability to hold a decent level of charge) of my battery that was the problem. A new battery resolved the issue.

  14. Let's hope that's " put a lid on it " then! Thanks for the update Mike
  15. I think there are quite a few RX450 owners that wish their SatNav would disappear!
  16. Aye - using fog lights as 'running lights' amongst the trendy and uninformed is yet another example of the regressive standards in driving and social behaviour. One has only to consider the appalling levels of fly-tipping, social misbehaviour, and drug abuse to realise that society (in general) has little regard for itself or for others. If this appears as a mild rant from an ageing driver - - it is, of course. Fortunately the illegal use of fog lights is (in overall terms) but a minor irritation (though can be dangerous - I accept) - and I am inevitably guilty of letting such drivers in front/ of/behind me that I disapprove of their habit!
  17. Just imagine how many volumes a Haynes Workshop Manual would occupy for a 2021 RX450 Takumi!
  18. Brian, The Owners Manual for my vehicle (granted a Series III) carries fuse box locations, fuse values, abbreviations and functions from page 609>>. (under DIY Maintenance) I realise these may be different for your car, but it's worth a peek. It's a PDF, (so I haven't yet succeeded in copying it for you - if I manage - I'll let you know!)
  19. I guess it was simply a matter of time, but the inside (inboard) faces of two of the wheels have started to show corrosion - - So i really should have the wheels refurbished/recoated/re-whatever-is-needed. And it's that advice I seek from other owners. There would appear to be a plethora of specialist 'refurbishers' all of whom expound their proficiency and promise peerless results, frequently using their own jargon of course, (and none ever intended to impress or confuse!) So - before I start the process - may I ask you chaps, what in your opinion(s) should I be looking for: Is it 'powder coating', (or summat else), is a second treatment of ceramic/nanoparticle advisable or necessary? and, has anyone experience of a particularly good refurbisher in West Yorks? Thank you for your time - I appreciate that it's your time I'll be 'spending'!
