Am I alone in thinking the post 2012 Lexus design ethos was akin to making a Thunderbirds car look alike . I so hate the gaping mouth of the Lexus's after 2012 . So much so I left Lexus as a brand after being invited to the new range launch in 2012.That was after driving them since 2004. Thankfully there are still the likes of the SC around as a appetiser for me. One of the best looking of all time and unique.

VL... I have just followed the post on the Blue /Cream Lexus that has been sold to Lexusman from a member on the other board. . My twopence worth is you could not do better than to consider buying it .if it is still available . You cannot beat knowing the history / ownership of any car . this is a gem !! ticks ALL your boxes . And I agree with Neil E . on the postabove

Retired Aircraft Engineer here who then Started my Electronic Repair Business for 20 odd years. i too have mongoose and TS.There may be a volume on actual wiring diagrams but not in these volumes . There is however a comprehensive Diagnostic and Schematics in VOL 4.I dont suppose they expect someone to try and retrofit this as it was factory only fit . I wish you luck . The schematics will allow you to figure it out if you are an "ace of the base"

No .Thats not how these manuals work . They show a system diagram and then proceed to tell you how to fault find . Quite comprehensive . but a traditional wiring pin out diagram No. they take each system check and go through the diagnostic checks in turn . Its quite a complicated system depending on many peramaters . Its the first time Ive looked through them in 10 years . I sold my GS450h in 2011 and moved away from Lexus as they introduced that horrid "BATMAN" styling in 2012 with the "GAPING MOUTH "I think the prat who designed them ten went to Honda Civic for their boy racer styling . !!😈

I have the 5 volume set of these . The CAN Bus section is there(V5) but I dont see a separate wiring diagram section .

I drove a loan car with Mica Red 3R1 paint code back in 2009 when my IS250Auto MM was in for warranty work on the camshaft sprocket locking pauls . The IS220 d was striking , but not the striking of the SC . I dont know what it is , but it just suites the SC so well .

MATADOR RED MICA - 3R1................. just kidding . I will be in the SC looking out so the interior is the important colour scheme for me . The Silver will do !. Its also less of an attention getter , which sort of suites me to . I sometimes think cars are a little like ladies . The more beautiful , the more somebody wants to steal them . 🤣

Yours looks perfect so enjoy a beauty . Will sell my Honda S2000 maybe next year .and keep the SC for fun and the CRV for day to day use . .

Its a beautiful motor in Red. Unfortunately I think Im going to have to settle for Silver /Cream interior , even though they dont look as good. Red seems to be rarer than hens teeth ! .

Bythe way the Red SC in Edinburgh is not on Gumtree anymore and the one at Pierremont Motors has gone .

There is also a hidden upside to reasonable milage for the year, depending on the driveway garage conditions. Cars with small miage that have been left outside tend to have much more corrosion when not driven . The SC seems to suffer from corrosion at the rear end. I was very suprised to see the underside of my IS250 after 3 years . Itwas not great . i shouldhave corrosion proofed it from new as I was going to . Last october I bought a 2009 S2000 from Honda Perth . Lovely exampl . So I have spent the winter anti det corrosion treatment the underside of the back especially. Had the rear subframe out to facilitate the work . Just put it in for alignment yeaterday . So when I get the SC430 im looking for I will do the same .
