Well having studied my usage if your doing 30-50 roads and really watching your eco/power gauge it's quite easy .took another run to the coast and found the power off junctions and round about when you have bloody audis or bmws up your chuff fun winding them up as you know there fighting there gearbox then I just roll off to the speed limit .and they can't get past without doing something daft .you can see it on there face what the hell is that lol.but it burns juice . -
Well I filled up the car today as we are taking a run to the coast tomorrow . My trip at fill up was 398 miles and I squeezed 46.7 ltrs into it 1.31 of shells regular petrol £65 ish the fuel gauge was reading roughly 1/4 left .im sure I read these had a 65 Ltd tank range the fuel gauge said 69 miles cruise range left .now I've filled up it says 414 cruise range .im not really worried about how far it goes on a tank but I'm sure some of you chaps love this stuff .

Tyres for 2017 RX
Lager shandy replied to MartyGS's topic in RX 300 / RX 350h / RX 400h / RX 200t / RX 450h+ / RX 500h Club
After looking again black circles is £7 per tyre cheaper on the Bridgestone tyre gets a good review. I imagine give it's a year and your find more makes in yours size. -
Hmm that's interesting ,I think we are going to stay with v power as it's our nearest garage for the wife . Due to the car sitting around a lot .i normally use aspen fuel for my lawn mower and strimmers etc as it doesn't fall to pieces and gum up your fuel system over winter £20 for 5ltrs you can get it straight and pre-mixed for two strokes .

Ooooo 20" wheels that's almost pimp my ride territory lol. I have also been looking at tyres as everyone is raving about cross climate Michelin ,the only advise I can give is look online regarding black circles and the other supermarket type tire people offering mail order only and fit at garages near all in price .i have found a local non franchise tyre place normally beats them if you go in and actually talk to them . -
I wouldn't rush into this job if I were you ,a bush can look perished on the exposed rubber part if there is no movement in the bush it is as they say a advisory the rubber internally is ok I had a Ford Focus and for 5 years running your suspension wishbone rubber mounts are perishing but no movement etc .its a ploy most of the time to get you to do work that's not needed for a long time . Would they replace them if it was under warranty I think you would fine we will monitor it on the service sir .

Tyre and pad wear
Lager shandy replied to Glover's topic in RX 300 / RX 350h / RX 400h / RX 200t / RX 450h+ / RX 500h Club
I stand corrected the use of copper slip is a out dated concept with modern brakes now a ceramic type grease is recommended if anything at all . It's to do with modern pads have a cushion pad fitted to them which grips the piston etc . -
Ok good luck with your search ,I would suggest a 3/4 breaker bar you will get no flex and it transmits the undo torque to the bolt easier ,

Being of a certain age I would prefer brighter lights at night as I feel half blind at night now ,my avensis used to have hid lights or projector things that seemed low on dip and too high on high beam never liked them 4 cibie rally spots would light up the road rather nice had a set on my avenger tiger years ago .

Battery 12v
Lager shandy replied to Lager shandy's topic in RX 300 / RX 350h / RX 400h / RX 200t / RX 450h+ / RX 500h Club
Hmmm welcome to lexusville would you like to breath our cool filtered showroom air that's £20 please lol I wonder if it's vegan friendly lol -
Hi normaly people use a windy gun to zip of the bolt and pulley ,then refit bolt without pulley hand tight to turn and align the pulleys marks . Then remove pulley tensioner and replace all parts in kit ( if the manual says to remove cam pulleys loosen all bolts before removing tensioner and belt . Then reasemble in reverse order as per manual . Just remember always turn engine over two wholes turns and make sure all marks realign and the belt is still tensioned after new belt is tensioned .may might as well fit a new water pump while your in there . Which I'm sure the cam pulley will have to come off to remove the rear metal shield behind pulley .

Having looked through the owners manual which is about as thick as a bloody Argos caterlodge grrr lol . It talk's about pre crash or a precollision system fitted to stop the wife rear ending another car .ive not tried it out obviously I was going to get some cardboard boxes and try it out in a empty car park.

Hi everyone me and the good wife decided to take the dog to south coast beach hayling island this morning good blast down m3 few hours on the beach ice cream etc then a back roads blast up A3 back to reading . Just clicked on to 300 miles on the trip and just under half a tank left showing .now my question is do these drop like a stone gauge wise as it goes below half way . Also as we were getting on m3 at basingstoke the wife says it's a lovely ride but the car feels slower than the avensis even though you see the speedo needle raising up ok . Ok i said let's see how it goes then floored it for the first time from 30-70+ up slip road .she had a big smile and went omg lol ,well that's the fuel saving gone when she get back behind the bloody wheel lol.

Morning everyone when I collected my Rx I stopped at the first garage to fill up , I put in esso premium petrol as this was only pump free. Now what's the thoughts on regular vs premium petrol or do people pop in a fuel system cleaner every now and then . On my avensis 2.2diesel I only ever used shell premium and never had any issues with egr valve or dpf right up to 90k miles with the correct driving etc .but now with the hybrid which switches on and off you can't really say cruise at the correct rpm as it's all out of your hands if I'm explaining this correctly .hence my thoughts about using quality fuel and cleaners ,also good oil and maybe earlier oil change between services .which I can do easily . I do like to look after my cars regarding engine etc rather than oooo it's been cleaned and shiny and just leaving everything else up to lexus who couldn't really give a monkeys about your car and just change the oil and filter once a year .and stamp your book .
