I think your find all cats have ceramic honey cone core covered in find precious metal of varying types .and they all do a fine job as long as they are in the correct temp range and mixture range being pumped into them .only advise I can give is oil burning will wreck it and a incorrect burn i.e. Rough running Miss fire will cause the cat to melt internally and block the exhaust causing your car to not start or not hardly rev . I recommend you either just put a straight piece of pipe in the cut out section or find the cheapest cat you can and stop worrying if it meet lexus specs .unless you are loaded then you just fit a complete new Lexus system as you sit in the Lexus dealer sipping champagne.😁

There maybe a temp fix for you I imagine the sensor is just a swipe varible resistor ,take the other one off Measure the resistance at normal height buy a resister and solder in the unit .or I imagine most ride height sensor units are the same and you could try one off another lexus model.( Quick edit Ahh sorry I just realised you have already solved your issue.)

If your having to put 3 Litres of oil in over 600 miles you have either a oil leak (which has been ruled out by some garage ) then my dear Watson the only other reason is your car is burning oil more likely valve stem seals or hopefully not the rings .you will need to get a friend to follow you in another car and check sitting in traffic idling then pull away nomally valve stems and seals worn. When driving at say 60-70 then let off throttle with smoke on over run normally rings worn .spark plugs will be splattered with oil residue .Or if no smoke is present you have had your car oil level under filled by the idiot who did the oil change .remember if you didn't do it yourself then don't trust it was done right .

Mine has the roof rails normally used by the young Eastern European lady to haul her self up on my back wheel to clean the roof ,well I'm sure she's a woman and not a small child 🙈 -

Smart phone vent clip put phone on holder and there you have a cheap fix and great google sat nav . Rather than taking your car to the garage and spending lots of money .i use this set up in my company van it normally gives you 3 routes to choose from and if you fancy diverting just put in search say coffee shop it will show lots of ones closet first .so quick so easy. -
Surely you just get an actual modern phone Bluetooth to the car and get one of those vent phone holders and use the larger modern phone say with google maps as I do in my van which just plays through the speakers ,and takes calls etc through the vans speakers . The tom tom and that phone is a bit old school ford mondeo .

I'm taking out my extended warranty this month .And then when that finishes 1 month before the beast hits 10 years old I'm going to put another two years on the car .i will then see how it is fairing at the end of 12 yrs old . So that's probably going to cost me about £4100 with servicing and tyres+insurance including tax.or do I gamble and do £50 oil and filter by myself once a year x4 £200 servicing tyres £500 tax £600ish £1400 over 4 years and bank the rest into a repair fund £2700. Keeping in mind I don't use the car for commuting etc .so I wouldn't be in a rush to fix it . Ahh forgot hybrid check does that need full service history to keep battery warranty ?.or can I just do a health check once a year .
-
Lexus extended warranty is double the price of the same toyota warranty .also it ties you into having it serviced at lexus no block exemption here .id recommend selling and buying a Yaris hybrid or ct200 on pcp about 7.5 k pcp over three years .this all depends on your budget and running cost .or buy a older car and have it service every two years due to mileage.

Took the dog out in the boot of the car on the weekend ,me and the wife were walking around the shell garage shop .and suddenly hear this really loud car horns going off .and yes it was our car ,I defiantly won't miss that when asleep if it goes off at night neighbours are going to love that .sooo loud lol

Your more likely to encounter icy weather conditions than snow in the south .and I'm not sold on all season tyres just yet .i would rather choose a good rain tyre over a all season with good anti aqua planning qualitys I've seen more cars loosing it in the rain .the only thing that's going to help in icy conditions is winter tyres.

Reverse gear

Ok that seems reasonable what happens when your hybrid battery is very low and you need to reverse up a long steep hill .Will the engine kick in and take over .
