It's a fairly simple job jack axle stands Remove wheels two spanners unbolt calipers hang up on shock spring with cable tie pull out sliding pins clean out hole with rolled up emery paper and brake cleaner lubricate new pins ( use copper slip )slide in with new rubber boots refit cleaned up pads and calliper housing reverse fit torque up wheels ,fit new disc after strip out including calliper carrier if your taking your time one side at a time on a nice sunny day a easy little job .

I imagine there’s finance owing due to cash on collection.

I did watch a u tube vid showing replacement on a toyota same engine .only real issue is pump and pulley clearance to chassis rail inner wing which that jacked up engine to gain clearance look tight to inner wing there are always short cuts and book time to make money .

When driving at the speed were the noise is worse gently move the steering left and right to see if noise increases or decreases this will show as a wheel bearing .if no change then swop your wheels front rear to to rule out noises front tyres .

This is very interesting so what has changed on the rx450h to drop the install time .

has any got a copy of the small print regarding this warranty .

When ever I go into kwik fit or Halfords with my works van ,I always ask for a Big Mac and fries then say oh sorry wrong building lol same staff.

Hi I can understand warranty dept saying it's wear and tear but that means everything's wear and tear on the car that moves why not just say take out a extended warranty but the water pump isn't covered . 11hrs seems a bit steep .i would expect a decent Lexus mechanic could do it in a few hours with power tools etc .

The only thing I have found with used car warrantys is check the max labour rates in the small print as I had one a years ago covered lots of items but the labour rate they paid was 35 per hour so most garages didn't want to know .

My neighbour has a tesla he won't tell me the price just in case his wife finds out lol.looks nice in white

Just rang my insurance company lloyds which is my bank and only a £10 a month increase £620 year fully comp with loan car legal no claims protection me and wife as main driver. I'm 50 wife 34 not too bad.

I would personally check the mot history and latest one for advisory ask for a new mot from a Lexus dealer site . check everything works going around the car door by door and internally check for worn looking tyres side wall cuts and bulges check for scored rusty discs through wheel check panel fit gaps should be the same all round tyre to wheel arch gap should be the same is the engine noisy or smoke on start up leaks underneath when driving is there any droning noises gently steer left and right to test wheel bearings is the steering wheel straight when driving does it pull left or right when you gently let go off steering wheel take for good run then to see if it over heats or temp rises above halfway chips in windscreen expensive to replace bearing in mind a Lexus dealer carry out the mot should high light most things you could pay a hours labour for a vehicle health check if the sellers honest and good should say yes. good luck

I will probably get the Lexus used car warranty, I bought one for my avensis 499 for two years ,lexus seems a bit steep for 995 for 2 for 1 cost .has anyone actually paid almost 2 k for a used warranty.

Hmmm interesting topic can we do a search for the best battery highest output and quality etc. Euro carparts do a few options Bosch and exide 160-200 pounds .

Hi have you asked them what lexus deem acceptable water pump bearing min and max to were its deemed as bearing failure as we all know they love tolerance in Japan and will have a figure. A failed bearing to us is one that breaks up in engineering circles it's a tolerance of movement or even measured in bearing frequency noise.

I rang lexus swindon today and asked about deals on rx used car warrantys which he quoted £995 for two years He mentioned is ones lexus with full lexus servicing .i answered yes I do believe so after check my cars ad . I then asked why ,he told me your warranty claims would probably rejected on a claiming not .i asked what about block exception on the first 3 years as I can have it serviced at joe blogs in kwik fit and you have to do warranty work .he seemed flustered lol.

May we all ask the price of your new rx ,as I'm picking up an older model Saturday but if we really like it over time may look at buying a lot newer in 5 years .

Well took the wife to have a look at the car ,it was better in the flesh deep metalic red new tyres just had big service . Spent two hours going through everything with the sales guy he was very knowledgable .it was on a posh farm unit inspected under flouresant lights and then out in sun checked underneath all under protection panels unmarked .the entertainment rear system bluetooth head phones were in there plastic wrapping still in centre consul unmarked .sales guy took us out for a long test drive shopping between me and the wife .it was almost silent inside and couldn't tell when it was using the engine or battery unless we bought up the display .wife fell in love with it .so hence we have taken the plunge and put a deposit down will be trading our old car in which owes me nothing .total figure to pay will be £13950 ,it will be the wife tootle about play thing doing about 2k a year mileage going to proberly keep for 3-5 years .the only problem I've foreseen for the future is getting the next car after this that will compete .The car snob factor is starting to rear its ugly head . To put it in perspective I said I've see a hybrid rav 4 for the right money low miles .and got ummm no thank you lol. One last thing is the stereo system is the best I've heard in a car that hasn't been modified .ill post up pics when we get it on the drive way within the week.

Thanks for the advice I'm going to make a list to ask or check over on the car ,the cars for my wife to be honest and it will be doing very low miles as she works her business from home after taking it full time .so I'm not to concerned about mileage .the only reason we bought the avensis was the wife travelling 50 miles a day to work and the dog ,so the salesman is in for a testing fitting session with does the dog fit lol.hes 50+ kilos

Ok I have a few questions for the forum gurus 1) what is the mileage limit and age limit your able to take out your last warranty , 2) if you get an issue with your car say your rear calliper siezes up ,can you ring up take out a warranty wait a few days and book your car in at lexus with a brake issue .im asking this question as in theory I'm thinking I wouldn't have to pay for years of warranty when not needed if that makes sense 3) can you take out a 48 month 50k warranty
