  1. I had a discrepancy between the service book and what was on the app. When I phoned Lexus customer relations they said they were in the process of transferring all the data to a different platform and to give it a couple of weeks if it is still there contact them again. This was before lockdown!
  2. Thanks for the information Ricky and Herbie from now on I am not going to use recon in any mode and just keep it on normal charge if I am not using it for more than a week.
  3. Thanks Colin, quite relived I have not sabotaged my own car!
  4. Have just checked my battery and it is now 12.6 ie dropped one volt over 20 hours from full charge with the car locked and therefore alarm armed. Can I take it my battery is ok?
  5. Having used the AGM recon setting on the Ctek I can assume I could have damaged the battery? Have now taken the charger off and it is reading 12.7v I will test it in a couple of days time.
  6. Thanks Tony I did not realise that Panasonic AGM batteries did not like recon. I assume it is ok the leave the CTeck on normal charge over a period of time or are you saying it should be disconnected as soon as it is charged? What kind of reading should I be getting to show the battery is holding its charge?
  7. Sorry to highjack this thread but I have noticed that you are a global moderator Colin and I wonder if you could enlighten me, I want to export my UK bought Lexus to France where I now live and was wondering about extended warranty and roadside assistance which I would like to continue. The car is three years old and the extended warranty runs out in the UK in September. Can I renew this in France, if so how?
  8. Thanks Roger. Still not too sure why the battery should go down within a week
  9. Cheers Vlad I will go ahead and recon it on the AGM setting. Still puzzles me why it should be flat after only a week. Will see what happens after the recharge.
  10. Left my car for four weeks and when I came to start it the battery was flat. Charged it up using a Ctek and it has been fine until today when I opened the door and the siren went off and an error reading of blind spot monitoring not working. I have since jumped started it and got it going. It had not been driven for a week which is not all that long. Not too sure why the battery should go again on a three year old car. I only have an iPod in the car and I am sure that turns off with the car. It may be that my battery was damaged having completely drained the first time? I am going to do a recon with the Ctek but I am not sure if it is an AMG or not the numbers on the Panasonic are 20HR 57Ah CCA 450A D26 (JIS). Can anyone help? GS300h premier 2017.
  11. Looking todo some detailing on my car as the stone chips seem to have have been “touched up” by blobs of paint. Am I right in thinking that Lexus paint is fairly soft so caution is needed re cutting compounds.. Has anybody had any experience of paint correction on a Lexus?
  12. Hell of a journey, no doubt made easier driving a Lexus!
  13. Just South of the Loire Valley 50K South of Tour in a little village called Charnizay
  14. Cheers John The only reason I asked about the roadside assistance is that I live in France most of the time and I actually had cause to use them. The service was amazing from a phone call to England I was transferred to Lyon and they had a mechanic round to my French residence, which is in the middle of nowhere, within 45 minutes. All conversations were in English ( except the mechanic). Very impressive.
  15. Can you lapse a warranty and then opt into it again. I thought that as my car is only three years old I would be alright for maybe a couple of years and then take out a warranty, or does the warranty have to be continuous. Can I take out Lexus roadside assistance without taking out the extended warranty?
  16. Thanks again John. Wing mirrors now working. As the car is only three years old I would have thought the battery should still be in good shape. Will get it checked out.
  17. Thanks John Car is now running but I have noticed that the wing mirrors do not fold in when I lock it! So assume four weeks is too long to leave the car without a trickle charge?
  18. Many thanks for your prompt and helpful replies. I have a CETEK charger will that be intelligent enough?
  19. I left my car to go on holiday four 4weeks and when I came back The car would not start. The message came up “Parking brake unavailable“ with a ticking noise coming from somewhere behind the glove box and the wing mirrors flashing. I assume it could be a flat battery but I cannot open the boot to charge it up. I have tried the key fab and the dash switch but nothing happens. Anyone know how to get into the boot manually? Is it normal for a the car to have a flat battery after standing for 4 weeks?
  20. I emailed customer support and was told I could have the full users manual and the Nav. manual for free, which I immediately requested and two days later both arrived in the post!
  21. Interestingly when I asked if they would do both shocks instead of just replacing the one they said it was not necessary as the car had only done 27k
  22. My GS is just 3 years old this month but had to have a new near-side rear shockfor its MOT. So suspension could be an issue. Fortunately it was replaced under warranty. I wonder if it wasn’t under warranty they would have insisted I had the pair replaced!
  23. Thanks Peter. How would I know if my car has a self healing top coat?
