  1. Interesting, I emailed my local dealer in France to ask about the recall, did not hold out much hope as the car is English and had been re-registered in France. They got straight back and said they had checked the French website and yes it was due for a recall and booked it in for the end of March.
  2. I asked national tyres to change the wheels but they said because they had TPMS they would need to change the tyres over as well. Are they correct?
  3. many thanks for your replies. Will get the new tyres put on the back
  4. Thanks for the info. Can I assume it will make no difference to the handling of the car
  5. Just had two new front tyres from Nat. Tyres. Bridgestone Turanza (where did they get that name from!!) Although they were the same size as the back I noticed that these were 98Y rather than 94Y. Does that make any difference, having 94Y on the back and 98Y on the front? Is it something to do with load bearing?
  6. My 2017 facelift model has an electric rear blind
  7. Does anybody know if National Tyre Co. use the “Hunter” system?
  8. Living in France but coming over to Surrey this month need two new front tyres and a realignment. Reckon I can save over £200 compared to French prices so it pays for a trip to see the family. Good deal going at National Tyre company in Kingston, wanted to know if there have been any comments on their wheel alignment
  9. Probably been discussed before but I cannot find any reference to it. Which is the best machine for car wheel alignment and which tyre fitters use this machine?
  10. I was rear ended last year. I insisted that a Lexus garage should carry out the repair as it is not only the parts but the complicated spray process and paint they use. The insurance company were fine with it but insisted that their technician look at the car and the garage’s estimate before the repairs were carried out. This was in France so British insurances may differ.
  11. Many thanks for all your comments, very helpful, ( as always). Yes it is a GS300h (typo). I am assuming that asking them not to change the plugs will not invalidate the warranty that Lexus offers?
  12. Booked my Lexus 330GS Premier in for a service and they said as it is six years old it needs a spark plug change even though it has done less than 50K miles is that right?
  13. Agree, would be interested to know why the battery failed so early?
  14. Ah! those were the days a gallon of petrol for half a crown
  15. I and the same budget as you three years ago, set my heart on an IS300 but had a test drive of a GS300 as well. I must have had about six test drives back to back and could not get away from the fact that the GS drove and felt so much better even though I wanted a slightly smaller car and one where the back seats folded! Now I have no regrets buying the GS.
  16. Will these batteries recommended above fit a GS300h as well?
  17. Slightly off piste here, but how much for a normal service ( not the big one) in UK? I paid €199 for my 300GS in France, main dealer that included the warranty which I thought quite cheap
  18. I have a GS 300 premier with sport and sport + never heard of a power button, is that only on the GS450?
  19. Agree
  20. Once you have followed the above advice re the tires and the problem has not been resolved then it might be a geometry problem so take the car to any tyre fitters and ask for the tracking to be checked and adjusted if necessary. If the problem still persists check out the suspension
  21. So Lewis is 10 seconds ahead and had managed to overtake all the back markers whereas Max does not have to and with a new set of soft tires is allowed to start the final lap with no time disadvantage! Hardly a fair result Lewis on his worn out tires didn’t stand a chance. Total shambles
  22. Check the battery voltage, could be on its way out. There is a very good chart by Herbie on here somewhere
  23. Interesting, if this is a recommendation, as my diff oil was not changed by Lexus at 25k my be I should request this next service?
