  1. Sorry guys, do you mind if I piggy back this thread? As we are heading towards more wet conditions, I’m thinking of swapping the rather cheap rubber off my car (even though essentially new) as I am not happy having Chinese tyres on my car. Is the PS4S the forum standard or can anybody else recommend a tyre? PS4 come in slightly cheaper. I really only do motorway miles, best set of tyres I had for longevity were Michelin so sorely tempted to go that way. Anybody tried running Yokohama? Working out about £184 cheaper, £530-£564 for the set fitted. Any advice appreciated. Cheers
  2. Thanks for the pics, your screen does look awesome Ian. Having seen yours I 100% want to mod mine, I may have to go for wrap in the short term, but I’ll certainly be buying the genuine article gear nob, after all, that’s the bit I’ll actually be interacting with.
  3. Elvin has got back to me with various prices, must admit to being a little light headed, but then again, I’ve never modified any of my cars, so this is all new to me. The costs are considerable 😣
  4. Thanks for the feedback re Elvin! It’s working out to be £1100 or so just for the steering wheel and shifters, thank you USD! He doesn’t have the centre console in stock so not sure on the price. I can do without the wheel, but the console and door handle inserts etc would make a huge difference imho. He has also done the rear storage section which looks immense. Re your vinyl wrap, do you think that was down to the actual product used? Cheers
  5. Unfortunately at least one of the kits is LHD only, so I’m either left trying to do a wrap myself or going for some of Elvin’s stuff.
  6. All good points. I’ve looked into wrapping with CF vinyl, not sure I have the patience to do it to be honest, looks like it can be fairly tricky, but the results I must admit can be impressive and for peanuts in comparison. Certainly an option. I have also read about CF yellowing over time with sun exposure, apparently this can be prevented and you can polish the CF if needed. I have no plans to sell the car, it’s on HP with Lexus, so ultimately it will be mine, but it would be ideal if I have the option to return to stock. This chap in the pic below has the same CF as me it appears but hasn’t bothered changing the doors or glove box it appears. I certainly don’t want to go overboard, the centre console and the lower part (grey plastic) on the steering wheel are the bits I really want to change.
  7. Yes Elvin appears to be “the man” 😁 There are other real carbon options, they overlay your original trim and do look very good at a fraction of the price, however they are a permanent solution and if I need to return the vehicle to stock, could prove an issue. They also only appear available to order in LHD, but I have contacted them. I am concerned that the OEM silver (ish) carbon will clash with the black if I do go ahead and purchase. With the USD so strong, it’s making the costs potentially not worth it at the moment. Thanks for the info guys!
  8. Yeah I’ve taken a closer look on the way home today and they are indeed aluminium. Felt cool to the touch having been parked up for a few days. I must stay I still don’t massively like the feel of them, I know it’s personal taste and all that.
  9. I could of course be wrong, but they feel like plastic to me I must admit, certainly not noticed them feeling cold. My Alfa’s were solid aluminium, just sublime.
  10. Hi all, I’m considering upgrading the steering wheel / paddle shifters / lower centre console with carbon fibre inserts. I’m just planning ahead at this time, but does anybody have any experience of doing interior upgrades such as this? There is a guy in Singapore who does some fantastic stuff for F cars and gets nothing but great reviews from US Lexus owners. It’s great quality and he uses genuine Lexus parts I believe. My concern is that my car has the silver inserts, his silver won’t be a match so I would have to go with black. I’m really not a fan of the OEM grey plastic on the steering wheel and plastic shifters, hence why I’m looking. His stuff is certainly not cheap, but it’s a long term project for me. The photo attached is an example of his work, it’s fully customisable, I think the L badge is a bit too much for me, but can order one without.
  11. I’ve just contacted him for some advice etc thanks for the recommendation.
  12. Sorry to thread hack so to speak. I really need to get my car detailed and ceramic coated, can anyone recommend anywhere in the East Midlands, I have a place in mind, but always best to explore options, besides I need to save a few pennies 😖
  13. Welcome to RCF ownership, it’s a great car!
  14. She looks like mine, although I’ve got pimped black wheels 😁
  15. He’s still mourning the loss of his “Rat-mobile” 😅 @Big Rat was beyond helpful when it came to my purchase, top bloke, that’s all I can say.
  16. You’ll be pleased to hear It’s nothing like the Mustang, it’s on another level imho. I loved the interior, I must admit, Chevy are outdoing Ford BIG time as far as I’m concerned. I wouldn’t say it’s quite Lexus or Audi, but it kicks Fords *****. If they did a RHD at a reasonable price, I’d seriously consider one, but the luggage space is a killer for me. Besides, I love my new toy 😍
  17. Having driven the current gen stingray, i think that Chevy have long since dispensed with the cheap plastic interiors. I was shocked how good the interior was. Leather and soft touch everywhere I felt. Very impressed.
  18. I’m not proud, but I managed to do Nottingham to Gatwick airport return (360 miles ish) on 3/4’s of a tank 😂 Very impressive economy when needed! It’s only around 7mpg worse than my 2.0 Alfa and is quite a bit better than my wife’s XC60 T5. I did find myself finding an excuse to pull off into the services, only to accelerate down the slip road again 😍 Installed my dash cam properly yesterday, was pretty easy to conceal the power chord. Much neater than having wires dangling everywhere. It seems to be quite popular as well, quite a few positive comments from neighbours, colleagues etc So far I’m enjoying F ownership 😀
  19. I've noted a squeal coming from my brakes aswell, I assume it's doing it to copy my RX! 😂 Only noticed it a week or so after I got home from picking her up from the dealer. It seems to be under lighter brake applications, but will check tomorrow.
  20. That ain’t too bad for stealer prices!
  21. Off to the states this summer and plan to pick up some pads and or rotors to save a few quid. Where have people been ordering them from states side?
  22. Bargain.... I’ll take 2 😅 Those figures are mind blowing. That GFV is truly a killer, I had the same problem when looking to buy a Mustang a few years ago. They were massively undervaluing their GFV’s, but at the time, a 3 year old stang had only depreciated a grand a year, so I would have potentially had upwards of £15k in positive equity by contract end. The monthly payment was substantially more than I wanted to pay at the time and I didn’t want to take the risk on residuals with a facelift due.
  23. I believe Mercedes are still working on a new V8, but Aston and McLaren are working on new V6’s, only from what I’ve seen from YouTube. I truly hope that NA V8 and V12 engines make a comeback.
  24. @Flytvr your ex is stunning, there is no doubt. She was outside my budget, otherwise given that she was just around the corner from me, I would have checked her out.
