  1. Thank for the ideas- Is it reasonably easy to fit the unit by yourself or is it recommended to get it professionally fitted (hardwiring front and rear camera, hiding any dangling cable etc). Are there kit available for DIY fittings?
  2. Hi folks, I bought a new IS300h couple of months ago and at the time of purchase declined to buy either a dash cam and GAP insurance; I thought these things will cost a fortune if taken from the dealership. Any recommendation for what is the best (and possibly of a reasonable price) dash cam that I can buy and fit in myself? Any idea of GAP provider will be a bonus!:) Look forward to some suggestions in the forum. Thanks!
  3. Wow, even more expensive! I guess there is this and then the warrenty cover for peace of mind....
  4. Is this the same as Lexus Protect? as darrud says they applied some cheap paint sealtent coating. Did you have yours from the main dealers or did separately?
  5. you don't see any merit in taking the paint and alloy wheel protent and Smart cover against bodywork? These are about 500 quid each and so not cheap atall but what measures are available if you get chips and dent on your car?
  6. That's great I too have a feeling that you can get cheaper GAP insurance and DASHCAM felt a bit pricey at over 250 quid. I am considering whether to go for SMART package though for paintwork and alloy wheel cover.... still quite a bit extra there!
  7. great thanks for advice- will sure do when it is with me 🙂
  8. There is that too- I am yet to have that discussion- do you think they may offer any upfront deals? I noticed the even multiples of 10,000 miles are quite expensive,
  9. Hi all, I have placed an order for a brandnew IS300h with Comfort pack (given how much tech comes with the standard spec, I wouldn't have gone for extra but sadly the standard pack didn't include a rear parking camera!). Never bought a brand new car beofre so I would love a couple of suggestions- as with most carsales, my dealer (although without being pushy), want me to consider purchaing a number of additions (paint protection, alloy wheel protection, dashcam, GAP insurance etc). These add to up to a decent amount of money and I am thinking are these worthwhile investment (e.g. can you buy cheaper GAP insurance elsewhere, dashcams are also avalable for less). Would be good to get some views. Thanks
  10. and 15 plate would not bother you?
  11. David, please can you share a link or some way of finding more information on it? Thanks
  12. 15 plate premier vs 66 plate exec similar mileage; premier £700 higher; driving expereince is simiar I think but the priemier has lot more bells & whistels. which would be a sensible buy? especially if I want to replace in 3-4 years time. Thanks
  13. exec only have parking sensor no rear view camera however some (not sure about brand new ones) premier ones only have rear view camera and no parking sensor whch feels rather odd athough not necessarily a deal breaker.
  14. Thanks I think I am going for the exec spec- I know there are premier trims are available at higher price, more miles on the clock and with an older plates- for a like for like do you think that would be a better choice?
  15. That's brillinant stuff- such a helpful community of people! Many thanks for all your advice. I am at the top end of my budget with 16 plate with more than 30K+. Although I notice some car are in the market with older plate and even a higher price. I don't want to go back too much because part of this buy is to enjoy some moder technology. I noticed in the following but if I saved money by taking it to a local garage will that affect the residual value when it comes to part exchange or selling off? Thanks
