Has anyone on this forum actually had their LC500 stolen?
Or even suffered an attempted theft? -
Could someone kindly advise what the Lexus fix is for the fuel flap not opening problem. After 4 and a bit years my fuel flap is misbehaving - Lexus have sanctioned a free fix, but I just wondered what this entails exactly?

Anyone had any trouble with the windscreen washers? No water is coming out of the jets on the passenger side in my LC.

For clarity here is the information I have received from Lexus re satnav update:
- all Lexus models come with a 3 year licence (used to be 1 year)
- when expired you buy a new licence and are then able to download updates (usually twice yearly)
- a new 1 year licence costs £175.40 - includes updates
- a new 3 year licence costs £280 - includes updates
- the questions were answered in relation to an LC500, but may apply to all models
-
For clarification - I believe the satnav licence expires after 3 years and you have to pay £200+ for renewal + a fee for the latest database update.
-
May I politely ask other LC500 owners what they do/did when the infotainment licence expires (in my case it was after 3 years & 4 months)? Do you simply cough up for a new licence?
And if you do, how long does that last?

Just a warning - I am still waiting for parts - latest forecast delivery is 11th October, but that is not set in stone!

I purchased my LC500 3 years ago and before doing so asked a series of questions for clarification. One of them was regarding satnav updates and I was clearly told it was just a software installation and would not be chargeable. Now 3 years later all the people I dealt with have left the franchise and I have just had my 3rd service and MOT carried out there. In addition I asked them to check if I had the latest satnav update - they quoted the following: Licence Key £244.99 and Map update USB £40.13 - total £285.12. I remained calm and am considering what to do - anyone else experienced this?

Malcolm - had a mad moment whilst reversing and hit a wall. Damage didn't look too bad so intended to pay for the repairs without involving insurance. When I received two quotes both over £4.5K I changed my mind 😇

Does anyone have any idea about what sort of lead time I should expect on an LC500 rear bumper and a rear light cluster?

My LC500 is having is being serviced at the beginning of September when it will be 3 years old. Lexus are pushing me to have the brake fluid changed (£45). As I have only done 10,200 miles should this be neccessary?

I have owned two black cars in my life - after each one I swore never again. But must admit it looks stunning in the pics 👍.

*UPDATE*
Gave up with the dealer and sent an email to Lexus support 2 days ago - received a fairly prompt reply (via telephone) by a very polite and understanding support person. I told him I was not the only one having the issue which surprised him - anyway, I have signed into My Lexus today via both the mobile app and Windows desktop and I can see the service 👌.
-
Anyone else having issues seeing their service history online? I had my 2nd service on September 8th at Lexus Leicester and the details do not show online. I have contacted the dealership more than once and they say it is a Lexus issue that many people are suffering from.
Additionally on my service they managed to lose (or not tighten them properly) two dust caps - still waiting for them to tell me they now have them in stock.
-
Just had the 2021 satnav update installed FOC whilst my car was in for it's 2nd annual service 👍.

Since buying my LC500 I have always used premium unleaded fuel (97 octane).
Thinking about switching to the new E10 greener fuel - any comments?
-
I agree with AJ500 on total numbers.
I have had mine 2 years come September 1st and have never seen another one whilst out & about. However, due to wintering abroad and Covid19 I have only done 5,500 miles.

Thanks Andy.

My Maps version is 1520 - does anyone know if that is the latest?

Hi Kev
No problems at all with the car other than the self inflicted one! Go for it, you won't regret it. And yes I bought it from Lexus Leicester who were 1st class.
Hi Malcolm
Yes, I do use a Battery conditioner whilst I am away (CTEK MXS 5.0).

Seen a bit of activity on the LC500 forum of late which is good. There aren't many of us and I have not posted anything for a long while so here is my story to-date - opted for a new basic model (preferred the wheels) in white with rose/black interior. The only extra I paid for was the Mark Levinson speaker upgrade. On September 6th 2019 I picked it up from Lexus Leicester, next day I drove it to Cannock to have a ceramic coating applied to the body work. Two days later I drove it back to Leicester, went to the stables where my daughter keeps her horse and promptly reversed into a thick wooden gate post and caused £3,417 worth of damage 🤬. Got it back from the Lexus body shop a week or so later and all well now.
Anyway, I absolutely love the car. Because I spend most of the English Winter in the Far East I have only done 1,400 miles so far, but even so I am just about winning the battle against the infotainment system 🤣🤣.

I occasionally have to leave my car in my garage for up to 8 weeks at a time. My previous car was a Jaguar F-Type Coupe and I was advised to leave the car on a trickle charge whilst I was away. I have just taken delivery of a new LC500 and assume the same applies. So could anyone please advise where to connect my charger?
And as an aside - is it normal for a new car with run flats to come without a jack etc?

I live in Leicestershire - my LC will be 5 years old in September. I have only done 15,000 miles, primarily because I am away a lot. Nevertheless, I am still yet to see another LC whilst out on the road.
