Thanks for the response. Much appreciated. I will follow your suggestion as it seems more appropriate.

Every two three weeks I disconnect the earth lead on my battery and attach a charger to the battery for about 3 to 4 hours. This way I do not run the engine nor cause pollution by running the engine. Can anyone see any problems with this approach of keeping the 12V battery charged? I have so far not seen any adverse effetcs.

Battery saving mode. Is this required to be done on both keys? Or is sufficient to do one one key/
