  1. Are they some Chinese tyres? Regardless.. They tyre bill fine. I drift on 65psi which is obviously more than what tyre states and it's fine. Either way, running tyre pressure at 40 and 45is fine. I do. But I have camber and stretched tyres. I need to run higher pressure tbh.

  3. Depends on what wheel you're going for. Factory wheels are heavy anyway. I went from factory 17x8" alloys with 225/45/R17 & 245/45R17 to lightweight RAYS GramLights 18x9.5" with 225/40R18 on all 4 wheels and my avg MPG got better by 10%.. Driving style is the biggest factor to MPGs. Sometimes I fill up and tell myself "im gonna drive like a grandad for the duration of the tank to see how much I can squeeze out of it" but then I floor it once and MPGs AVG gets so skewed that my results are useless.. It's definitely driving style. Small things like light alloys, narrower (but stickier) tyres, being lowered (aerodynamics) make a difference but if one drives it like they stole it, nothing will help.
  4. Like we said before. You cannot get an accurate measurement from half a tank. Fill up all the way to the top until the pump stops. Reset your AVG. Consumption, your trip and drive like you normally would. The range on the screen (100miles left etc changes all the time depending on your AVG consumption. If my tank average was 28 and I fill up all the way, the car can say my range is 280miles with a full tank (because the car assumes I'll be driving like that again and with 28mpg it will only last me ~280miles..), but once I start driving away and go on a motorway, get my AVG to 42, the range suddenly says 400+ miles. Drive with a full tank, until you get the fuel light on. Fill up immediately (if possible) and see how much fuel you used. Have a look at the average MPG for your tank and work out if it matches your trip mileage.

  7. Very good point. Generally removing just the back boxes causes droning, but V8s aren't as high pitched as other engines so you might get away with no drone up to certain RPMs. I think if it only stars droning in RPMs higher than your cruising RPMs, it's not too bad. Nothing worse than sitting at 70mph on the motorway listening to a split bean tin. The better way is to go for removing the middle section silencer and/OR secondary cats for a better flow while keeping back boxes - this will still let you pass the emissions at MOT if tested hot. The two silencers on the right could be fully removed and weld straight pipes in place. However, I am not too clued up on LC500 system as these newer cars tend to be fitted with GPF (Gasoline/Petrol equivalent to DPF on diesels) as mentioned above, but again, I'm not sure if it's case on naturally aspirated cars too. I've only come across it on turbo petrol cars so far.
  8. It is a true art when it's done properly. I mean look at those welds on my exhaust. They make things up to a very high standard in Japan.. I would say that the purpose of LC500 is just a luxurious GT cruiser. It won't be winning races, it's not sporty enough by sports car standards. It's not fast enough by performance car standards, but it is a pleasure to drive.. Obnoxious exhaust just doesn't suit it for the way Lexus developed this car.. That being said I would definitely want to hear the V8 roar in a car like that. Something needs to make me deaf, right? I'd rather it be the V8 than my other half😂
  9. That fair enough, but if it's a good garage, they'll be able to valve it too.. it's like a turn down pipe just before it goes into a backbox like this: Obviously the cost of this is going to go up significantly but it's still a much cheaper solution than an "off the shelf system".
  10. I would literally take it to any reputable exhaust shop and let them do a back box delete. Just weld a straight pipe with a nice tip to a flange that bolts onto your stock system with the same hangers. That way you can keep unbolt the original back boxes and keep them in the garage should you need them in the future. Fully reversible solution for ~£600..
  11. Hello and welcome. It looks really nice! As for pricing, it's almost the same as here. I just had a look and there is one with 89,000miles for £13,400 etc. Very similar. Crazy that the IS300h are more expensive than IS250 (same third generation) with twice as much miles on the clock.. there is a 2013/2014 IS250 for sale now with 56,000miles for £11,000 and another with 37,000miles for £14,450..
  12. I haven't posted on this thread in a while. I've not really done anything to do the car other than swapping out my Mark & Levinson Amplifier and Subwoofer as it died on me yet again. This system sounds great, but it really doesn't like high volume and a lot of bass for longer periods of time. Something I need to stay mindful of otherwise I'll be going through subwoofers every 6 months forever. My amplifier broke because it just overheated - I'd advise people to check the air vent pockets in the boot, behind the bumper when you want to kill an hour of your time. It might save you an amp if it's blocked with dirt. I sold my WORK Seeker LX splits to my mate (white facelift) and they quite suit the white pearl car. Anyway, here are some shots from when I was bored. Getting compliments on the car from random people passing by never gets boring.
  13. @Lex_utor Funnily enough, I was just looking at the official fuel consumption stated on auto trader for IS250 two days ago. Officially, it says 20.9MPG (13.5L/100KM) city and 36.7MPG (7.7L/100KM) motorway. In reality, without trying to achieve the best MPGs, I get ~24MPG (11.7L/100KM) city and ~44MPG (6.4L/100KM) motorway.. I now changed jobs and don't use motorway daily anymore, so my average is ~29MPG (9.7L/100KM), but I think if you get around 300 miles / 500km from a full tank, there is nothing wrong. Of course they were instances where I'd get less than 250 miles to a full tank but that's not a "normal" driving style.. And on the flip side, there were times I could do over 500 miles from a tank just by motorway driving to Scotland and back. (Sadly didn't make it there and back in one tank as the trip is almost 600 miles for me.
  14. Ask for an extended test drive, they give you a day or two. Once you make peace with the way hybrids drive, and yes it is a little different to normal ICE cars, you'll be happy. Toyota/Lexus hybrid is the only one to go to, really.. they are pioneers in this and the general reliability of these cars makes it a no brainer to get one if one likes the look of them.
  15. Probably not the advice you're looking for, but if it's a 69 plate, I'd just go to dealership and let them sort everything out under warranty. Get your monies worth!
  16. if one's chasing power, they chose the wrong trim level.. You can install an RR Racing supercharger that will get you to 320+ hp for £6k, but if you have 6k to spare, might as well sell the 250 and get an IS350 from Japan for ~£8000... it's got an overall better engine and you'll have the 320hp without a supercharger. Of course things get tricky if you want a manual.. then you will need the supercharged 250. Or just get a 350Z/370Z if you don't need the extra doors.
  17. They only do the two types IIRC. Clear reflector and amber reflectors. The indicators are the same. HC Motion / Spec-D are other companies that do different styles.
  18. So what's left to check is.. Front wheel bearings Worn engine mounts Steering rack or suspension arm bushes Worn CV joints Loose anti-roll bar links (Drop links) What mileage are you on? I'm on nearly 173k and I haven't replaced any of those things as they still work as they should. Touch wood.
  19. Yeah, manufacturers use the light headliners and pillars to make it look more roomy. Although I believe IS-Fs have black roofliner & pillars.
  20. I'd recommend a black fabric dye on the A pillars & headliner. It's a cheap mod that will completely transform the car. I did my A pillars a few months ago. Not done anything else yet as it wasn't warm enough outside to let it dry out properly. (A pillar I took home with me). Hopefully I can get it done soon 🙂
  21. I let mine wash on its own earlier in the week. Too hot to wash it now. Swirls are a bitch when the paint is soft from the sun. Honestly it's hard to find another saloon that's as good looking.
  22. tbh, if it's a "sporty" version, the cloth seats work better. This is why I went for the half leather 3IS seats. You just slide around too much on leather, but the cloth seats in 2IS look really poor.
