Thanks for your advice. I'll be going ahead with a spark plug change as the previous owner who had it for 6 years hadn't changed then in his ownership. So perhaps a few new sets of sparkies might do it good. These ngk iridiums are bloody expensive. But I'll have to cough out the dosh to get it done with some peace of mind.

Where's the best place to buy these.?

Hello Getting my LS430 LPG converted. I've read that the spark plugs should be changed. Which ones do members recommend? And also how often should they be changed? Also do I really need to install the Flash lube system? Thanks

Yeah I guess learn through mistakes. I'm actually thinking of changing the engine oil next. Shouldn't be difficult. Thanks guys.

Resolved the issue. Thanks to a member's advise who told me to check my wheel nuts. I checked my wheel nuts. And omg guess what? some were loose! So I tightened them all and the knocking is now gone. Thank god the tyre didn't come off.

The knocking occurs when I'm driving on low speeds at around 20-30mph. I tightened the 2 bolts as tight as I could.

Hello I decided to demonstrate my DIY skills to my second half and followed the tutorials on here and changed the front pads and discs myself. I went for a test drive. However I can hear a knocking sound which I'm sure is coming from my DIY brake job.. What do members think it is? I don't want to drive the Lex because I feel it might be dangerous. Thanks

Hello Was wondering if members are using their LS430 cars as daily drivers? Currently I have 2 cars: a daily run about (cheap citroen) and the LS430. However, I can't afford to run 2 cars so I'm thinking of converting the LS430 to LPG and using it as my daily driver. I manage to do around 100 miles a week to work and back plus school runs Asda trips etc. So most if not all my driving is local. Thanks

Hi So it was a nice and sunny morning and I decided to change my number plate bulbs to LED. So I removed the cover and just next to the number plate bulb housing I found a cable which looked untouched and I couldn't find anywhere it could fit. Could it be for the reverse camera? Mine is a 2003 LS430 Non air suspension , without reverse camera, blinds and fridge. Thanks

Hello So, my daughter sat in the rear left passenger seat and went for the seat belt only to find mould all over it . (Perhaps a sign it hasn't been used in some time) Anyway I took a look in the boot and its very moist and damp and wet especially in that area of the boot. The seal looks fine to me . Are there any drains under the covers that are probably blocked. Too some pics also. Advice would be much appreciated. Thanks

Hello members, Now that I've purchased a 2003 Black LS430, I'd like to ask members what upgrades I can do to give it a slight modern touch. I abhor double dins, spoilers, lowered suspensions, intense window tints or any sort of non-factory look upgrade. I'd want to be as close to factory as possible. I can only think of upgrading the lighting... Anything else..???

It's not a UL model so it doesn't have air suspension, keyless entry and the cooler box. Nor does it have massage seats or reclining seats or window blinds except for the rear window. But it does have a Nokia Bluetooth system installed but I doubt I'll be using it. It's got the standard keys. I'm not fussed at not having these features as it's in amazing condition and most if not all of the features I listed I wouldnt have used. I love having my cars with minimal modern features. I'm for sure more a person who loves attention to detail and quality. Just can't upload pics for the life of me. Strangely I can only get the key pics to upload.

True.. I think I might just do that. However as a plan.. There's a guy selling 2 front doors from a 2004 model (which I think might be face-lift) including all the innards with the side mirrors and windows for £100 per door. My question is that will the 2 front face-lift doors fit a pre face-lift??

Hello members I've just purchased a 2003 pre face-lift LS430. It's got early signs of rust on both doors and the boot door which is a common problem I believe. So how can I stop it spreading.? An alternative way would be to just buy some doors but I can't afford that at this moment. Is there some magic liquid or treatment for this that stop it spreading. Thanks

Yes a fresh MOT would be good. Its currently got 6 months left. Previous one had zero advisories
