  1. Tracker fitted yesterday; device registered by dealer. Dealer 'unaware' of Tracker Touch app for smartphone... even though I asked dealer if there was any app available or needed; they said No. LOL Registration details received yesterday from Tracker UK via email. Tracker Touch for Geofence etc installed by myself and working today - but I needed a call to Tracker UK for a secondary serial number to get the app registered and working. Car came back to me with an empty Tracker box on the front seat with a plastic Tracker membership card (fill in your own details) and a note to say go online for a welcome pack (and that's where you'll find information about the Tracker Touch app. If you want it. No real complaints here. I mostly find it's par for the course nowadays for me to know more about things than the dealer does...
  2. Having seen this post, I called the dealer and booked mine in today. First slot available was 28 October. FYI, I didn't have any notification from the dealer, even though my car went in for service and MOT today...
  3. I've had my UX250h for just over 3000 miles now - and averaged 50.3mpg so far - which has easily exceeded my expectations. It's been a mixed bunch of journeys - motorway, A roads and B roads, with half-a-dozen drives over 120 miles and plenty of short local trips. Having downsized from an RX450h, the UX is not quite so refined and the drive is harsher and louder with the run flats, but I'm more than happy. My best mpg so far was a 25 mile trip on a slow, twisty North Norfolk road where I recorded 59.7mpg. The UX easily wins the economy stakes!
  4. Agreed re negotiate CarPlay/AA - that's what I did. I believe that will also get you the latest sat/nav maps with the upgrade (which is good if you like the turn directions etc to appear on your Heads Up display, like I do, and which you wont get with Waze or Google Maps etc.)
  5. I think it's great too - it takes up so little space when not being used! For folding watch the best UX250h video I've seen (imho) with Melissa at Go to 6:10 in the video (or click the 'more' link to see the video index) to see how simple and easy it is to fold the "tonneau shade" as our U.S friends call it! LOL
  6. Have to say, I think you are right re other canbus access points... We need a smarter software solution to restrict access to the command system - perhaps similar to the multi-stage authentication used in most financial apps.
  7. I get the same message..... so I won't bother to trouble the dealer yet then! It would be nice, though, if Lexus were to update us on this program/work - even if dates have slipped - as it's clearly a concern for a lot of us. Someone must have the responsibility for it and a schedule/outline plan with some milestone dates and progress can't be too hard to produce, surely!

It may make you smile (or cry) to know that when trying to negotiate down my premium this year, I went through the rigmarole of lowering annual mileages, changing excesses etc, to not much avail. I had the car as being parked on the driveway, but thought it may be cheaper ie less risky, to keep it garaged. Guess what? Garaging was going to save me a whole £4.72 on the yearly premium! I kid you not!

I think the point about whether the UX is a 'family' car revolves not around how many people you can get inside the car but rather what you can get in the boot when you have four people inside the car! If you have two kids in the back and are going on holiday for a week, where are you going to stow all the gear and suitcases? It ain't all going to go in the boot! And don't forget the pushchair and a highchair as well every time you visit the in-laws..! That's why, IMHO, it won't work for a lot of one-car families. I used to be able to leave my golf bag and golf cart (trolly) in the boot of my RX450h all the time. Having down-sized to my UX - which I love - it's a different story and the rear seats have to go down every time. I knew that would be the case and accepted it.
  11. When I bought my E4, I was already 'comfortable' with the size (or lack of it) of the UX boot space! So AWD didn't make much of a difference to my decision. It wasn't that expensive as an option and is a nice to have, I think. For anything other than weekly food shopping or 2 weekend cases etc, the rear seats have to come down anyway. The UX is not really a family car, but it's great for us as a couple. I can still get 2 grandkids 6 and 8 year-olds in the back with their car seats on school pick-up duty once a week - but I wouldn't want to do it every day! As for AWD performance, I can't say I've noticed it so far - but then we don't (or at least haven't had) a winter like in Sweden - yet! Regarding mpg, it's all going to be down to how you drive it.
  12. My multi-car renewal quote from LV has just gone up by 40%... 😞 The UX250h element went up by +80% compared to +22% for each of the other 2 cars. Nothing had changed - no claims, no convictions; just no claims bonus increased by a year and cars all a year older... So I thought I'd shop around with multi-car providers I'd used before. Admiral wanted +52% more than LV!! Aviva wouldn't cover... despite emailing me and inviting me to get a quote! We need these security upgrades - and insurers need to know they are fitted!
  13. When I bough my used UX250h from Lexus Cheltenham (Listers), they provided a full tank. They also asked for proof of insurance and taxed the car for me (at my expense though LOL)
