  1. I renewed with AA again this year - £231.00. Admiral always quite competitive also - was with them for 13 years on a multi-car policy.
  2. Likewise my NX is now just over 3 years old now and still continues to impress. As you say build quality and comfort are outstanding. Due to the restrictions my mileage is lower than it would have been normally and gives me the dilemma of whether to change before its 4th anniversary (the new 450h+ looks tempting!) or given the new Relax warranty I hold on to it for another couple of years. I had purchased a 2 year extended warranty and service plan at the time of the 3 year service appointment so expect I will be able to get a refund for the second year warranty after the next service.
  3. Had something similar years ago and a squirt of WD40 did the trick! Worth trying.
  4. Agree with you 100% Steve. This will be a class leading SUV. I reckon the 350h will start at £39k with the 450h+ at £50k.
  5. I bit the bullet and bought a DA polisher last week. I always considered that I kept a well polished NX but after using the new polisher - wow! Power washed the car first applied Autoglym Magma prior to Autoglym polar blast foam, rinsed and then washed (with a lambswool mit) using Black light Shampoo and rinsed again. Lightly clayed the paintwork using G3 Pro mit and then applied Meguiars Ultimate Compound using the polisher. Buffed this off and then used Poorboys black hole polish again using the polisher. Buffed this off and finally applied Bilt Hamber double speed wax via the polisher and buffed this with a microfibre cloth. Tyre Slik finished the job. Very pleased with the result and the DA polisher was easy to use.
  6. Agree with others that the asking price is a bit on the high side!
  7. 1. Can't say that I find this a problem and I rate the driving comfort highly. 2. Agree that it is a bit slow but you get accustomed to it. 3. It has its uses as others have detailed. 4. Yes I have very occasionally managed to get all bars lit - after long downhill travel but the norm is that its two bars short of full. My gripe is that it only has a single reversing lamp. A car of this quality should have two!
  8. To get back on topic I personally don't think that the NX has lost its fresh unique looks. The spy videos of the forthcoming new model demonstrates evolution and not revolution in terms of the bodywork design and I believe it will still stand out from a crowded market sector as a Lexus NX. What really looks to be interesting is the interior and the promise of a PHEV option.
  9. Phil, excellent choice of vehicle - I am sure you will enjoy your NX and the whole Lexus experience. I certainly have and continue to do so. If the dealerships close to you are as good as Lexus Edinburgh then you can look forward to outstanding customer service.
  10. I actually like what I have seen. It's a case of evolution of bodywork design rather than revolution. Interior looks amazing. Has anybody had any inside info on a release date as yet.
  11. Have only driven the UX as a loan car whilst NX was in for service and agree with the comment that the UX feels more spritely but I found the interior too small and the boot space very poor for a family car. Ideal car for a couple though. My advice would therefore be an NX. You will not be disappointed!
  12. I assume therefore that navigation etc is only possible by connecting an android phone (ie no phone =no nav) and that effectively the native Lexus Nav is no longer? How about the details regarding fuel range etc? Will that only be available via the instrument panel and not the screen? Sorry for all the questions but not sure I wish the inconvenience of having to have the phone at all times and remembering to connect it for every journey.
  13. Contemplating the software upgrade to Android / Car Play. Can the existing Lexus Navigation continue to be used and the split screen function (ie maps / energy monitor) remain available to avoid plugging in a smart phone every time? I see the benefits of Car Play but plugging in my android phone every time to me seems a backward step. Advice would be very welcome.
  14. Yes, I too was surprised by the list price of the RAV4 and agree that the NX PHEV is likely to be £50k plus which is disappointing. I will probably hold off changing my NX until further details are made available but as others have already said there are a growing number of quality EV's which can be bought for less. Lexus need to bear this in mind.
  15. I have one fitted on my NX as part of the protection pack and it certainly does reduce the risk of bumper paintwork damage.
  16. Hi A good new year to you too. The aperture for the mechanical key is behind the drivers door handle. If you pull the handle as you do to open the door you will see it marked. Hope this answers your query.
  17. Brilliant car from superb manufacturer supported by fantastic dealers. What is there not to like?! Happy New Year all.
  18. A very happy Christmas to all and let's look forward to better times in 2021. Stay safe.
  19. 100% yes from me. I think they enhance the look as well as reducing road spray.
  20. My overall rating of Lexus Edinburgh (Eastern Western Group) is nothing short of outstanding. From my first visit to the showroom for a 24 hour test drive in late 2017 through to purchase of a new NX in April 2018 and subsequent visits for servicing their customer care has been exemplary. Would not hesitate to recommend them.
  21. Likewise I am in a similar predicament in that my NX will be 3 years old next April. By that time it will have covered c27k miles. Don't know whether to trade in for a new one or extend the warranty. It is in immaculate condition inside and out, has been faultless, still brings a smile to my face every time I drive and could still easily pass (and has been) for a brand new car. The UX is a lovely car but just too small for me at present. I expect the next generation NX will include a PHEV which is tempting me to hang on to mine until it becomes available but if that is still some way off I may think again. Nice "problem" to have!!
  22. I bought the above product recently and was fairly sceptical regarding its claims but having used it this weekend I am impressed! Initial prep was thorough power wash snow foaming, iron-off and light claying and the an application of Black Hole polish. Then the ceramic coating - secret is to follow the instruction of using only two sprays per panel, spreading the fluid evenly and then buffing off. It's hard work but any smearing can be corrected via a damp microfiber cloth. The depth of gloss on my Graphite black metallic NX is outstanding (as illustrated) and super smooth. Water beading and sheeting is incredible and all plastic trim and side windows were included in the "coating". Whether the claim that the double application will last 12 months remains to be seen - I am doubtful.
