  1. Once you are used to the smoothness of a CVT box you don't miss a "normal" box. Fair enough if that is what you want but I would rather waft along in a Lexus than possibly be stuck - broken down at the side of the road in a BMW after driving it enthusiastically. 😉😁
  2. Incorrect! You can get the Hazel interior which I have specified. The black upholstery can also be specified with cream or red inserts.
  3. Many congratulations. Looks great. Are these the standard alloys or did you specify these?
  4. Wow, wow, wow! Had a test drive of a 450h+ this afternoon and was hugely impressed. It was a f-sport with Takumi pack. Acceleration was brisk, smooth and almost silent when running in ev mode. My 25 mile test route was a mix of motorway, B roads and town centres and an overall consumption of 99mpg was indicated. The depletion of the ev battery was true to mileage covered and it was pleasing to note that when in Auto mode (ice and ev) there was noticeable replenishing recharge of the ev battery. It felt very sure footed with the suspension coping well on all surfaces. Driving position is excellent, seat was extremely comfortable and all controls within easy reach. Fit and finish feels more luxurious than the old model. The voice activation to enable various adjustments and switch on/off functions was faultless. The HUD is crystal clear and the main instrument panel gives comprehensive information to the driver. The multiple functions of the infotainment screen will need to be mastered however I am fairly certain that the important ones will quickly become second nature whilst others may rarely or never used! I think my current NX is a fantastic vehicle but this new model takes it to a much higher level and driving home after the test drive emphasised this-a 2018 NX was distinctly old school! The NX 450h+ with Premium Plus pack and sunroof which I have a provisional order for remains on schedule for a mid March delivery. The free ev charge point offer is now in progress with a site survey scheduled. Lexus are certainly on to a winner with this car and will no doubt increase market share in this sector of the market particularly if their enviable reputation for reliability can be maintained - and I have no reason to suspect otherwise.
  5. Glad to hear that the saga is almost over. Have you been informed as to the reason for the delays? Agree that the actual handover is usually a fantastic experience - almost theatrical! Hope you can enjoy it, put the delays behind you and enjoy the car. Look forward to seeing the pics!
  6. Test driving the 450h+ later this week so will share my thoughts.
  7. I currently have a 2018MY NX which I specified with mud flaps all round and I believe they have helped in keeping the bodywork clean and I think enhance the appearance of the car. I have a new 450h+ on order and have again specified the fitting of mud flaps. Not cheap addition but they are robust and in my opinion worth it.
  8. The period between build in progress to build completed was 5 weeks in my case!
  9. Short journeys as stated will barely allow the ICE to heat up and running on the EV motor will certainly not last 3.5miles. I reckon your mpg in an NX will be low to mid 30's for such a journey pattern based upon my experiences with a 300h. Have owned this car from new (2018), covering 30000 miles and overall mpg has been in excess of 40mpg with a mix of driving conditions /distances. I know that consumption rises significantly on short journeys particularly in winter. But as already said Lexus is principally about comfort, safety and reliability.
  10. I also have a 450h+ on order with Premium Plus Pack and sunroof. Timeline- Ordered - 21 Sept Build Started - 13 Dec Build Completed - 17 Jan Now on the high seas. Dealer expecting a handover date of 17 March.
  11. Look forward to reading your initial thoughts and of course some pictures!
  12. If you are interested in fully electric I can recommend the Kia EV6. It's impressive!
  13. I ordered a 450h+ during the last week of September but build didn't start until 13 December. I am expecting delivery mid March.
  14. Yes. I know that Lexus Edinburgh has now got at least one demonstrator (350h).
  15. I believe that the first shipment has arrived in the UK and deliveries commence over the next few days.
  16. Received notification today that build is complete and my 450h+ has left the factory! Dealers indication of a mid March delivery looks possible! 😁
  17. Think dealers may be best source of info rather than Lexus Link - especially in the early stages. It took 10 weeks for my car to go from order in progress to build in progress. Since then its been over 4 weeks at build in progress! Dealer is indicating mid March delivery.
  18. Congratulations! Look forward to seeing some pics! Does yours have a sunroof? I ordered a 450h+ with Premium plus pack and sunroof at the end of September and its still showing as being built! (since 13 December) Fortunately I am not in a rush and had indicated to the dealer that a March delivery would be ideal but even that is looking optimistic. Still no demonstrators available either.
