  1. I actually find the feature very useful to see the edge of the kerb and thus avoid damaging alloys!.
  2. Yes would thoroughly recommend Lexus Edinburgh as Ronnie says. Great team there in sales and service offering top class customer care.
  3. East Central Scotland tariff on Octopus Go. 00.30 - 5.30- 8.5p/kWh 5.30 - 00.30- 22.96p/kWh Standing charge - 61.25p / day
  4. I use a Hive charger from BG which was the Lexus "approved" unit in 2022 and was supplied as part of the deal when I bought the NX450h. It isn't as yet compatible for Intelligent Octopus Go but standard Octopus Go is available.
  5. Welcome Kamran. I had a NX450h+ prior to my current RX. Great car. Full charge from zero via the wallbox charger should take no more than 2.5 hours. From a standard 3 pin socket it will be around 8 hours. It's worth looking at a tariff that will allow off peak charging. I have Octopus Go which presently has a low rate of 8p kWh between 00.30 and 5.30am. Basically allows you to get a full charge for under £1.20. Best eclusive EV mileage I achieved with the NX was 51 miles. Average would be c40 miles. Happy motoring!
  6. 57.6 mpg is impressive. I ran a NX300h for 4 years from 2018 and recorded every refuelling to monitor economy. Best I ever achieved was 46.32mpg and poorest 33.8mpg. Over a total mileage of 31500 miles I averaged c41mpg. Seasonal temperatures play a major factor - best mpg performance was in the summer months and worst in winter. Great car.
  7. I'm on Octopus Go (8p 00.30-5.30, 22.96p outwith) for my PHEV. My overall charge averaging out at 16.8p kWh.
  8. My distribution board was also difficult to access and would have involved lifting floors etc however the meter was positioned in the garage so got a secondary distribution board linked through the meter installed adjacent. Don't think 6mm cable will be sufficient for a charger unit. I also had to have the main fuse upgraded by Scottish Power Networks (foc).
  9. That's safety systems and EU legislation for you.
  10. Yes that's about correct. The remaining capacity held by the hybrid battery is basically for use when the car is running in hv mode.
  11. The PHEV 450h can either be plugged into a standard 3 pin socket (fuĺl charge will take around 8 hours) or via a 7kw home or public wallbox(full charge in 2.5 hours). Cables for both are supplied with the car. Ride height is higher than a saloon and having now driven either the NX or RX from Lexus over the past 6 years getting into a saloon is noticeably lower!
  12. I assume it's the NX450h that you are driving? The tyre supply situation is an ongoing issue and we'll documented in the LOC. I had a NX450h+ and was sceptical with regard to Run Flats but having then had a puncture at speed on the motorway I began to appreciate the benefits. If I could have specified RFT's on my RX450h+ I would have. I didn't have a supply issue regarding a replacement tyre as my Lexus dealer had a Bridgestone in stock and the car was back on the road and fully functional within an hour of the puncture incident.
  13. I had a zircon blue metallic MG Metro. Took delivery on 1st August 1982. 10 days later a van reversed into it resulting in a new tailgate. The bodyshop took about 3 attempts to get the decals applied without bubbles! Reliable throughout my years of ownership but had to get the alloys replaced under warranty.
  14. Always enjoy a sunroof/moonroof/panoramic roof and have tried to specify them over the years. Worst experience was when I had a Peugeot 405 estate with a sunroof that leaked from day one! Was returned to the dealer numerous times without a successful cure. Didn't keep it for long!
  15. Personally I would stick with the Bridgestone Run Flats. I wasn't a great believer until they came into their own when I experienced a puncture whilst travelling on a motorway in my NX450h+. Phoned ahead to my dealer and was with them 30 minutes later. Unfortunately it wasn't repairable but the dealer had stock and a new tyre was fitted there and then. If I could have specified RFT's on my new RX I wouldn't have hesitated.
  16. DRL's only became mandatory in 2011 so perhaps they aren't fitted?
  17. Yes.I did exactly the same!
  18. I only had my outbound journey recorded yesterday so looks like the car is currently 30 miles away. This was an issue when I had my NX450h - hope it's not happening again!
  19. I wouldn't remove them as it will eventually show tiny stone chips. They are there for a purpose.
  20. Agree wholeheartedly. The 450h+ is very fuel efficient for the size of vehicle. I recently ran mine exclusively in HV mode and was hitting mid 50's in mpg. EV mode I get around 45 miles and have broken the 50 mile barrier when outside temperatures suit.
