  1. Sounds like a disc/ABS issue to me. Under heavy braking the peddle will pulse as a result of the ABS system but have never experienced this under normal braking. Warped discs or ABS cutting in too quickly??
  2. Yes. Fortunately I was close to Lexus Edinburgh, phoned ahead and they were ready and waiting for my arrival! They did indicate that a repair may be possible however after inspection it was deemed non repairable. They had Bridgestone Alenzas in stock so fitted a new one and I was on my way again in under an hour. I'm never keen on just fitting one new tyre - I'd rather fit in pairs - however at a 'top dollar' price and with c6mm tread on the opposite side I'll restrict it to one this time! I could have got the tyre significantly cheaper from other retailers however I wasn't prepared to wait for a minimum 4 days!
  3. Latest charge prediction 55.7/53.6. Unfortunately not getting near that in reality with the latest running out at 40.
  4. Unfortunately picked up a discarded tyre valve on the motorway today which punctured a tyre (NSR). Technology worked with the pressure monitor indicating a problem and showing the tyre pressure reducing by the minute. The Run Flats performed well and no adverse handling issues. Lexus Edinburgh responded swiftly however the tyre was deemed non-repairable due to the size of the hole so new tyre fitted. Typical Friday 13th!!!
  5. My day rate penalty is greater - 3.08p kWh (usual sv price 26.88p) but I still calculate that the Octopus Go tariff works out cheaper overall.
  6. Yes I find a kick action works and then immediately step back from the car. If it detects any object within a few feet it will not operate. After you have mastered this it works every time!
  7. My tariff from 1 October - 29.96p kWh - Day rate 9.00p kWh - night rate (00.30-04.30) Standing charge 60.02p per day
  8. Although there has been a significant drop in temperature the overnight charge has resulted in marginal increases giving a predicted mileage of 55.9/53.6.
  9. I have recently switched to Octopus Go which gives 4 hours at 9p kWh from 12.30am. You are charged a higher rate than the standard variable tariff outwith these hours (approx 29p against 26p). Intelligent Octopus offers even lower rates offpeak however it depends upon the charger and vehicle compatibility. The Alfen charger/NX450h combination isn't recognised at present but hopefully will be added in the coming months.
  10. If you pay it off early then the GFV becomes irrelevant. You will simply pay what is actually due at the point of settlement which will include interest charges and any admin fees. Lexus finance will simply issue a settlement figure on request. You are indeed correct regarding GFV in relation to EV's. I know of somebody who was prepared to pay cash for his new EV and was actively discouraged from doing so by the retailer who advised that a PCP route was "safer" with the safety net of the GFV.
  11. Yes there is one that runs about the Edinburgh area. I am sure Lexus Edinburgh sold a second hand one a couple of years ago. You certainly stand out from the crowd!
  12. Yes. You should have 2 cables. I rarely use the 3 pin plug cable, however it is a decent length. Enjoy your car!
  13. Certainly great value at that price! Drove one last week and was very impressed however range for me is a problem and I couldn't believe that it didn't have a rear wash/wipe. A range of c350+ miles and a rear wiper would make me seriously consider one.
  14. Overnight charge and again levelled off at 55.6/53.4. The previous charge resulted in a disappointing actual of 38.0 with a series of mixed journeys but mainly motorway.
  15. You can manually reset either trip A or trip B or indeed both together.
  16. Yes it certainly isn't a robust product. It keeps cutting out on me and requests that I "add vehicle". When I do this it's unresponsive. After I uninstall and reinstall everything works OK. Now have found that if I "force stop" it runs OK until I recharge when I have to go through the whole process again! Things can only get better!
  17. You can manually reset the trip recorders by holding the button in for a couple of seconds on each display of A and B. Is this what you are seeking?? Not aware that you can set this to automatically reset each time you refuel.
  18. From what you are reporting I reckon there is almost certainly a malfunction with the key.
  19. Drove the RZ earlier this week. Its a great car to drive, extremely comfortable and well finished but the range just isn't good enough for me. If it was in the mid to high 300's I would be interested in purchasing. Only other gripe is the lack of a rear wiper!
  20. Another overnight charge and the predicted numbers reducing again to 55.6/53.4. The previous prediction of 53.7 with aircon resulted in a very poor 37 over a journey which included motorway, town and country roads.
  21. Drove an RZ earlier this week. Good looking car, fit and finish were to the usual Lexus high standard. Interior trim slightly disappointing given the car is a premium priced vehicle. Clearly Lexus aiming for a minimalist look particularly with the door cards. Absence of a rear wash wipe is strange but no doubt for aerodynamic reasons! Biggest downside for me is range. Car was handed over fully charged and indicating 165 miles. To be fair that didn't decrease as rapidly as the miles covered increased but still would be in the region of 180 I reckon. If that range could be doubled I would be seriously interested as it really is a super car to drive in as near to silence as you can get. Handling was sure footed, acceleration amazing, visibility behind the wheel good (apart from the rear view through rain soaked glass!) and a very easy car to get to grips with.
  22. Overnight charge at off-peak rate and the result is exactly the same as the previous one of 55.9/53.7. The actual achieved was however a rather disappointing 40.8.
  23. Overnight charge 55.9/53.7. Temperatures certainly impacting!
  24. Appears to be new mechanisms/buttons on the handles.
  25. Had the DC-DC converter replacement (YGG27) carried out today along with the "cure" for the frozen door locks that were a problem last winter. As usual a full health check was also carried out. I was given an RZ courtesy car whilst the above repairs were being done. Lovely car to drive and amazing acceleration. Negative points for me are lack of rear wiper and range. Full charge gave an indicated 165 miles. If that possible range was doubled I would be a customer!
