  1. Possibly the complexities of the Hybrid engine and the reassurance of the 10 year warranty offer when purchased through dealers makes recent models less likely to be available via private sale. There is of course a sales forum within the LOC site.
  2. Congratulations Chris. Lexus Edinburgh are brilliant to deal with!
  3. My recent trade in of a NX450h+ Premium Plus with sunroof is currently being advertised by Lexus Edinburgh for £43995. I can throughly recommend the car - it's done less than 19000 miles and was registered in March 22. Its finished in Graphite Black with Hazel leather interior and has the protection pack fitted. Front footwell rugs were unused during my ownership. The upgraded door handles were fitted and all servicing and recalls completed by Lexus Edinburgh. It's a great car - never put a wheel wrong and I averaged over 70mpg after taking the cost of electric charging and converting that to fuel costs. It was washed meticulously every week (including power washing under each wheel arch) and was machine polished prior to handing it back. Think it will be a great buy for someone!
  4. Saw my first LBX on the road last Saturday. Looks good in white. Actually knew the driver so sent her a message and replied that "she loves the car".
  5. Yes they are both part of the Eastern Western Motor Group and have recently added Lexus Dundee.
  6. Can't recommend Lexus Edinburgh highly enough. Brilliant team to deal with!
  7. From my recent experience there appears to be a decent "stock" of NX in the UK or in shipment to the UK so provided your spec matches an available vehicle then you will get a prompt delivery. Unfortunately my spec (F-Sport 450h+ in Fuji Red with Sunroof and Black/white interior) couldn't be matched and hence I somewhat unexpectedly ended up choosing a RX 450h+! Could have gone for a factory order for the NX however these were paused at the time which leads me to believe that a MY25 upgrade may be coming.
  8. Magic Tree tried................and failed as far as I'm concerned ☹️
  9. Can't agree sorry! If you could bottle the smell of a new car you would make a fortune!😁
  10. When I had my NX300h I covered 32000 miles by which time the fronts were getting near to replacement but I reckon the rears were good for another 8000 miles.
  11. I had a NX300H for 4 years and 32000 miles - trouble free. Averaged over 40mpg throughout my ownership. Definitely check tyre wear although I didn't need to replace mine but believe the dealer did change the fronts prior to resale.
  12. I can get a 2024 RX 450h+ covered for not much more than 60% of the above quoted rate.
  13. It's only a warning with the speed sign flashing and audible notification so it doesn't automatically reduce your speed. Electric range is less than what I was achieving in the NX but should improve as the temperatures hopefully rise. Boot space is bigger than the NX although I find the various compartments beneath the boot floor not quite as useful. The retractable load covet is a big improvement over the NX.
  14. Sorry - not really had a chance to use it with only a few local journeys recorded and mileage still below 300 completed almost entirely in EV mode. It's extremely comfortable as expected and I'm getting to grips with the technology. Currently getting around 35 miles on a full charge but temperatures are not helping so expect over 40 when they rise to the seasonal norm! Feels MUCH bigger than the NX and more than the actual additional dimensions with supermarket car park spaces tight. The parking aids (camera etc) a huge help. Excess speed notification is a bit of a pain particularly when 20mph signs are misaligned at junctions to 30/40mph roads as the camera picks them up! Have taken up the offer of Lexus minor repair insurance just in case it picks up some scars in car parks etc and considering alloy wheel insurance as well because the rims look particularly vulnerable. More will follow once a get the mileage up.
  15. Happy Easter all! Don't eat too much chocolate!
  16. Yes lovely colour and quite rare as I have only come across a couple. I recently changed my Graphite Black NX450h+ Premium Plus and was intent on a NX450h+ f-sport in Fuji red with a black and white interior plus sunroof. Couldn't get that colour combo from UK stock unfortunately (nearest was Fuji Red with black interior and sunroof or Fuji Red with black and white interior but no sunroof). Actually have now got an RX Premium Plus in Sonic Platinum with Ammonite Sand interior. Difference in finance terms between the two was amazingly close. Miss my NX but delighted with the RX.
  17. VSC is vehicle stability control but that shouldn't have caused starting issues and is more likely a hybrid system fault so I would be contacting Lexus.
  18. I had a NX300H for 4 years and c32000 miles. Kept a log of every refuel and averaged just over 41mpg during my ownership with an all time low of 33.8 in winter months and a high of 46.3 in summer.
  19. I've just had Nextbase front and rear cameras fitted to my RX450h+ by Lexus.
  20. Firstly on a like for like model basis the differential in mrrp between the NX and the RX is nearer £12k. I have just taken delivery of a RX450h+ after 6 years with initially a NX300H followed by a NX450h+. I wasn't really contemplating changing my car as I was well satisfied with the NX450h+ which was 2 years old with c19000 miles on the click but was invited by the dealership to a sales event in February. If an attractive deal was available on a NX450h+ f-sport I would be interested but only with the correct colour/trim and accessory options. Unfortunately nothing was available from UK stock but as I was about to exit the showroom I sat in a RX and was suitably impressed. With an attractive finance package, manufacturers and dealership discounts and incentives the cost difference against an equivalent NX was less than £20 per month! So that aside, in answer to your question you get a bigger car (strangely looks and feels much, much bigger than the fairly minimal extra dimensions in comparison to the NX), a quieter, more refined cabin, more comfortable seats (possibly the same very comfortable seats of the NX but with extra padding), superior ride thanks to the longer wheelbase more presence on the road and styling that sets it apart. It also gives a panoramic roof option which wasnt available on the NX450h+. The NX is a fantastic car and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend however the RX is a Lexus that truly wafts along the road and if the 5th generation of this range can replicate the longevity and quality of the previous incarnations then this 5th generation Lexus RX is worth every penny.
  21. All the revised NX range (350h/450h) were equipped with the new security measures I am told so they were all produced from October 21.
  22. Yes it does take time for everything to appear. I picked up my new RX this week, dealer had registered everything in readiness but first two journeys in the car haven't been recorded. All OK since.
