  1. Replace the drive train with a manual 2jz!
  2. 2020 stamp missing is normal on a low miler with the lock down. Water or damp in the boot or steamed up rear window is the only common issue we seem to be having outside of consumable items.
  3. Shocking what some will do, a photograph sent to vosa would have been interesting
  4. Seen many of wheels over tightend that they have broken wheel bars trying to loosen them. None distorted the wheel, on top of that the Toyota lexus nuts have a nice big flat washer on them so the wheels will be safe nomatter how tight. The studs are just a little softer than you'd like.
  5. Quite common on Toyota lexus, I replace many of them at work. Over tightening is the main cause but over tighten them cold and they have no chance. Seen one tyre centre snap one on a 3 month old avensis while repairing a puncture, and denay it was their fault.
  6. Plenty of independent garages about could do this job for a lot less. I had to replace both of mine within a year of each other. The aftermarket bearing is £150 sterling each and took 30 minutes per side to fit. Considering my first one failed at 4 years old and 40k I took my chance on the after market one with 2 years warranty.
  7. Windscreen fitting companies are reluctant do do the job as they are liable if the glass brakes during removal, and I don't blame them. Its risky and heated rear screens are quite expensive. An independent fitter may take the job with the understanding if it shatters they are not responsible, one of the guys working for the big companies may also take the job as a homer under the same understanding if you approach them. And the good news is if you are unfortunate and it shatters then it was technically accidental and the insurance will cover you. I can give you some tips to test the seal before you go further but it requires the car to be dry preferably inside and access to an airline
  8. Nothing wrong with that tyre, sure the wires aren't even showing
  9. If you are buying a cat be sure to check the serial number, there's been a lot of these stolen lately 🤣 sorry couldn't resist
  10. Sounds about right.
  11. Cats alone from these are nearly £400 in the scrappers. Track car with the diff welded nearing 1k around here at the moment.
  12. I went to 235 35 19 all round. No issues at all but if I was to go any wider on the front I'd have to shave my universal mud flaps. You could always swap a rear wheel with the front and you would soon know if it will clear.
  13. Let the traffic warden out of the boot, he/she has probably learned their lesson by now!
  14. Ours hasn't seen a dealer since we got it and never will. Il have a look when it's getting its spring tidy up.
  15. I have the same steamed rear window issue. Who bets I've got the same split?
  16. Well what was the point in starting a thread? Ask the question is there any point in servicing and when everyone suggests yes you decide not to anyway!
  17. I disabled mine and got slated on here for it. However I've had countless pm's from people looking to do theirs. It involves bumper removal ect so if you want a how to then drop a pm.
  18. It didn't look bad enough to be the issue. Its just interesting a few of us having the same problem at once.
  19. I had the grill apart but it was 2 years ago now. If I remember correctly the chrome has to come off first and its very brittle
  20. I just replaced it this afternoon. I done the annual service and it wasn't replaced last year. It was replaced 2 years ago. No issues with air circulation and its only the rear window fogging up.
  21. Our rear window has never been removed either.
  22. I've noticed the same steamed up rear window in the last few weeks. The boot does not appear wet but I've not looked behind the panels yet as that would involve removing the wife's junk!
  23. Clocks are only for people in a hurry. Sit back, chill out, enjoy the ride and you'll get there when you get there!
