According to https://bestradios.co.uk/best-frequency-for-fm-transmitter-uk/ the best chance for a clear frequency is 87.5 or 108. Although they seem to imply that this is questionable in London (I suspect other large cities might be a problem, too)

Have just replaced my tired and worn mats in my 2006 RX. The colour choice is mine, by the way! I used vehiclematsuk.com, and am quite impressed with the quality. I did choose "velour", which is one up from their base range. Cost was £33 for the set of 4, which seems reasonable. They're not Lexus badged, of course, but the driver's side does have the extra layer for wear and tear from the driver's heels... My existing one didn't, but not sure if it was there 12 years ago or not.

Not a perfect solution... I drove down the M3 yesterday, and there's a couple of radio masts along the way, which introduced quite a lot of noise. I haven't experimented much with the frequency... Just choose one that seemed quiet.

I've got myself a Bluetooth to FM thing, which avoids pulling anything apart. Idea was as a stop-gap, but have to say it seems to do the job pretty well. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B07DFF34H5

This particular tyre fitter has always, up to now, been right. I am going to deflate back down today. Update: have just taken them down to 32-33. A totally different drive. Solid, precise and a joy. And acceleration doesn't make me feel like I'm going into orbit. What made it worse... Having recommended 38, he put in 40!

I seem to recall that tyre pressures are finalised by a test driver on a circuit running with ever increasing pressures until the car tries (or succeeds) to leave the track, then the pressure is dialed back. If this is true, being 5 psi over what I suspect is the right pressure is asking for trouble. Also, I don't want to be improving my mpg by being scared of the loud pedal.

I know this is an old thread, but I have an old car, so that's ok. Just had a couple of new tyres fitted to 2006 RX400h. 255s. He reckoned 38psi. I just took out on a spin, and felt like the car wanted to take a literal spin.... Front end feels lose and bumpy under acceleration. I'm going to reduce it down to about 33, and see how it goes. I don't see the point of having 0-60 doable in under 8 seconds of the car just wants to visit the ditch every time. Any one else has a recommendation of 38?

I really do suspect that part. Easy test for me to do... Try out the other steering wheel mounted controls... If they don't work, I'm guessing it's probably the clock spring... Of course, if they do, it doesn't rule them out. I'm guessing it's the interface for all steering wheel mounted switches? I've only had the car a short while, so I'm still getting to grips with it.

I've seen a few of these things that hook up to the cd changer socket, but this one does look like the neatest I've seen.

Help!! Installed Aftermarket stereo and Nav wont work?!
Farnham Dave replied to Big_Chow's topic in Modifications & Tuning
That's an incredibly good video. An intensely complex job compared to head unit installs I've done on my previous cars... Yet actually getting access to the head unit seems more straight forward than most. Thanks very much for the link.- 3 replies

Hi there. Did you ever solve this issue? I've just acquired a 2006 RX with the satnav screen in addition to the stereo. I want to feed the stereo music from my phone. I'm toying with replacing the whole head unit, but don't want to screw anything else up. There are other options, but a new head unit would have certain advantages.- 3 replies

There are numerous head units out there that do the full Bluetooth experience... Music and calls. And a lot of them aren't too pricey. I'm just wary that something else will stop working if I change it? Also, how am I going to play all my cassette tapes? 😂
