As most of us are probably aware, Lexus's that are aged 5 years or over can benefit from heavily reduced servicing costs compared to standard servicing prices. Looking at the job sheets' PDF there appears to be very little difference in the level of work carried out; the only difference I can see is almost 50% off in terms of cost for this option. Do many here take advantage of this significant saving with regards to annual servicing?
-
Yes. I've caught mine twice and only had the car 3 weeks. Even slightly bent the corner of the bottom edge of the driver's door 😕.
-
That's very good. I'very been driving for 35 years with clean licence and max no claims bonus and still can't get it below £320.
-
Having owned a few German brands to me there is no comparison with Lexus. Japanese wins hands down, especially for overall refinement and reliability.

I have recently acquired a 2014 Advance Sport and too thought I didn't have TPMS but eventually found the reset button near the pedals (as described in the handbook). For me the standard 6 speaker audio sounds good. A bit of adjustment to the bass/treble settings may improve the sound for you. I had a Mark Levinson system in my 2006 IS250 which was great but only really improved with extra bass. 6 speakers for me, personally, is fine. I know what you mean about the infotainment/navigation. It's not the best but once used, to me, it's fine, in my eyes. My 2016 Samsung mobile syncs fine/quickly/automatically although occasionally calls' audio goes to mute and I can't get SMS to work (which is again fine as having used this before in previous cars it's an unsafe distraction). How are you finding the MPG so far and overall quality/refinement levels?
-
I've only had mine for a couple of weeks but managed 1.5 miles (in one go) the other day on half a charge. Not bad at all. ☺
-
...you've glided in EV mode? And/or, how many miles a day do you average on battery power?
-
Thanks again to all.
-
Thanks for the explanations. Despite having an decent battery charge EV mode hasn't worked first thing for me, probably due to the weather and demand on the battery. I still don't get what the button serves as the system automatically goes in to EV anyway if there's enough charge (and under normal conditions)?

Recently bought a CT200h. ..loving it but can't really understand why there's an EV button when the car automatically goes in to EV mode when conditions apply anyway. Can anyone shed any light on when the button is used as a 'forced' manual alternative to the car's own automatic intuition please? And why is the EV button the same shape and size and placed next to the Park selector button?! (Or, rather, why didn't they place the Park button somewhere for easier differentiation). Couple of times now I've almost accidentally selected 'P' instead of 'EV'!
-
Is there a CT200h gallery on here?
-
Sorry, 30th October. No idea why I put March!
-
Hi Vlad. Thank you. MPG is about 55 at the moment (since resetting on 30 March ..covered about 250 miles). Love it when EV kicks in. Used hill start assist for first time today; brilliant feature, as is the pollen filter cleaning button.

Morning! Newbie here from the south Midlands; I've posted elsewhere before the introductions! I've lurked around the forum before, having previously owned a 2001 IS200 manual, a 2006 IS250 manual and a 2006 IS250 auto but didn't, thenot, contribute. Have loved being a Lexus owner previously and have been desperate to get back into ownership again, especially after a couple of unreliable BMWs and VWs. It's hard, in my eyes, to beat the whole Lexus ownership experience, not just for the car/brand but the customer service/dealership relationship also. Nothing else out there seems to compare. So, after much research I opted for either a 4 or 5 year old Mercedes A class diesel or BMW 1 or 3 series diesel. At this stage I discounted the CT200h due to so many negative reviews and being unable to afford an IS300h it looked likely being a Lexus owner again would need to wait. The German offerings turned out to be bland and uninspiring (and diesel!) so I reconsidered a CT, read some real/owners' reviews (far more positive than those from the motoring media), called up the same salesman whom I dealt with before and called by on the off chance for a look at their stock. As I pulled in, there sat on the forecourt a gorgeous 2014 (facelift) Advance Sport in Fiji Red ... it was cheaper than the 1 Series, had more kit and, well, it was a Lexus ... and just within budget. Despite having slightly higher than average mileage it did have full service history and recent new front brakes and 3 new tyres, and all at a competitive price. After a test dive and a pre-delivery check she's now on my drive and I've got a big smile on my face again ☺ Impressed, as always, with Lexus's customer service levels and the car is a dream to own. In the last week of ownership I have only seen one other CT (whereas BMWs are as common as muck). I find driving my first hybrid incredibly satisfying and very relaxing. Driving out of my housing estate each morning in electric mode feels great and, conversely, so does slotting it in to sport mode for that extra boost of power. There's very little to fault the CT with .. the infotainment system is a little dated and fiddly (and I can't see why having the heating system displayed on there when it's quicker and easier to use the standard controls). No voice commands for the satnav is a little disappointing yet is about the only mild niggle really. I don't quite get why there's an EV mode button when the car choses EV automatically when appropriate, anyway? I love how the windows slow before closing and the ambient blue or red overhead LEDs to match the chosen drive mode. Small but pleasing touches. Until you've owned a Lexus it's hard to get across to non-owners (heretics and heathens that they are!) how great the brand is, further endorsed by owner surveys' results consistently keepong on winning for refinement, reliability and great customer service. I've now learned that the only decent reviews out there are from the owners. Clarkson's scathing review of the CT just further goes to show how much he is out of touch with reality. The RAC one however was brilliant. Delighted to be back in a Lexus and for joining this forum. Very helpful and friendly folk here. ☺

I contacted my local Lexus dealer this morning who confirmed these double beeps are warnings for upcoming, static speed cameras. Considering Lexus owner manuals are very in depth it's a surprise they've omitted this useful (for most, I'm sure) feature. My intended journey this morning passes through numerous static camera sites so I expect a lot of double-beeping going on! Be good to test the feature out; will report back.
-
I have recently aquired a 2014 Advance and also wondered why I get these occasional random double beeps. Initially I thought it was the front/side parking senor as I was driving past something close but in hindsight it does indeed seem to be linked to static speed camera locations. Nothing I can see in the handbooks though. Strange but now I know, a useful/good to know.

That'sounds all very true. Thanks.

I used to drive a 2006 IS250 and, also, being in my 50s, it was reasonably priced to insure. I have since owned a BMW 1 series (bad mistake), Ford Fiesta Ecoboost and a 1.0 VW Polo, all of which were reasonably priced also, and less that the IS. The Polo's renewal, in September, was £198 and replacing that with the CT it's gone up to £350! I will do some online quotes and see if I can end my policy early and go elsewhere, or just wait til next Sept to bag a better deal then. I do feel I have been ripped off though.
-
Just swapped my insurance over and seen my premium increase by 50%! For someone who's been driving for 30+ years with a good history and no points etc, I'm not the overall risk that's hiked the price, so it must be the car. The only thing I can think of is that it's a hybrid (ie. replacement parts?). Will certainly be shopping around at renewal. Anyone else notice the same for their insurance?
-
Thanks. Checked with dealer and seems this was only on the top spec models. Bit strange why that is only included on some and not all as all models' owners could benefit from this reminder on start-up.
-
Just had another look around the car (Advance Sport, 2014 facelift) I'm due to be picking up soon and can't seem to see a service (next due) indicator on either the multifunction display or the large infotainment screen? Do only certain models have this? Thanks.
-
Very good point actually. I guess it's about being more mindful than normal. Goodness knows how low slung supercar drives 'cope' with such dilemmas 😉. I'll check the underside too for damage before I sign on the dotted line. Very excited though. I miss not being a Lexus owner and looking forward to coming back.

Hi all. Newbie here. Having owned 3 Lexus (Lexi? ) before I'm now about to be back behind the wheel of my first CT200h . .and can not wait! My only concern/reservation is that I am a bit anxious that the ground clearance at the front is looking likely that the bumper/valance may scrape on vicious speed bumps or parking kerbs? It's a 2014 Advance Sport which looks similar in height to the F Sport. Can any owners testify to such scuffing/scraping or am I worrying unnecessarily? It's only after the test drive and looking at the pics, the dealer took for the ad, that had me wondering. Many thanks!
