  1. I wonder if the suspension system in the CL65 AMG could have been different. I know I had a conversation on Pistonheads with a chap praising the CL65 suspension system because even with it's pretty hefty 600 plus BHP it never changed it's super flat appearance under heavy acceleration or braking. Also it's cornering prowess for a big car was pretty tidy on A roads. Just a thought because it was super comfy regardless of how it was driven, although I like the N/A V8 in the RCF part of me misses a twin turbo V12.
  2. This looks to be the answer doesn't it. Perhaps it just needs to be re-set, in fact it seems obvious.
  3. I'm glad you have resurrected this thread, as I mentioned originally my AMG had that wonderful air suspension system that ensured the car always rode flat. It also was a real magic carpet ride and on a long distance journey certainly made the drive very enjoyable. The reason I said this was because I replaced the AMG with the RCF. On my test drive of the AVS equipped car I concluded that it obviously wasn't as good as the AMG but it was so close. Perhaps my many years of owning powerful Luxo Barges made me oversensitive to ride quality I don't know. But I would never of bought the non AVS car. It's a shame you are so far away as I'd welcome you to drive mine even with its 20 inch wheels. You need to find someone who knows their onions to check it out because I'm sure there must be something not right.
  4. Just in case. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=&ved=2ahUKEwig3rq69rX7AhUKIsAKHfxvCBEQFnoECA0QAQ&url=https%3A%2F%2Fnewsroom.lexus.eu%2Flexus-upgrades-gs-f-and-rc-f-with-adaptive-variable-suspension%2F&usg=AOvVaw2hkBHnVSuOaDQKyf-uXnBa
  5. Did this PDF come out okay?
  6. I understood that the system reacted to the way you drive, this is one of the reasons I keep it out of Sport+ because if you really get a shift on it probably tightens up enough for really stiff. There is a technical paper issued by Lexus that covers the unit in the RCF
  7. I can assure you there is a very noticeable difference to the settings. I may have mentioned this before but when I changed over to 20 inch wheels I was dreading the fact I may have lost that lovely smooth ride you can only get with the AVS car. But to my pleasant surprise it didn't so I would say it needs looking at. When I first started to look for a RCF I was fortunate to find a dealer with both a non AVS and an AVS car. I drove them back to back and bought the later AVS car despite it being well over £14-15K more there was that much difference.
  8. I thought your car was a later one with AVS, in which case it should soften up nicely. I'm running 20 inch wheels and with the car set on standard the AVS produces a very comfortable ride.
  9. Did you opt for the carbon finish? if so what's it like?
  10. I like those, I'm guessing they are plastic. Saw an RC at Snows being serviced with similar, I'm tempted I must say.
  11. Yes I noticed the fuselage too. With Lasham just up the road I wonder if it came from there. Many years ago Dan Air had big hangars at Lasham and we sprayed a few of them back in the day when they serviced big passenger jets.
  12. That was an excellent gathering, and it was nice to meet the folk and their cars. Good venue too it got a big plus from me as they did me fried bread with my breakfast. I haven't seen so many F cars since Simply Japanese many years ago. If the location is okay might be worth doing it again there. Some nice photo's too
  13. There's a bit of rain Friday but Saturday looks good.
  14. Can't seem to find the original film but found a still from the film
  15. I may have shown these before, but they are all metal about a metre long and weigh a ton. They are fully motorised and the turret rotates. Mine has proportional smoke and engine sound, main gun flash and recoil. They can pull a car by all accounts. I have had two of the three figures made to move by a clever company who do miniaturised robotics so the commander moves binoculars up to his eyes and looks around and the other guy picks up the field phone and looks around. I always get a crowd of kids of all ages around it when I display it. They are deadly accurate and we often get invited to the tank museum at Bovington to display them. Mine is based on the enigma that is Panzer Lehr 333 it appeared in France on a film released by the Germans near the end of the war, some say for propaganda others say otherwise. Big boys toy I'm afraid
  16. If that is the case I'll come to the meeting first and leave lunchtime.
  17. What time are you planning on meeting up? I've just realised I am going to attend the Armortek open day on the 24th. I'm not displaying my 1/6th scale tank, so may try the morning at Armortek then head over to this after lunch.
  18. Yes I learnt that lesson too fortunately on my Mini. I put a bit of marine grade grease on the thread now.
  19. It was good to meet you too. Hopefully next months meeting will go ahead as it will be the last summer evening event so probably have a big turnout. No I didn't overtake him as he was going flat out from the start and I held back a bit before going for it so as not to confuse the sound of thunder from the rasp. Dave the organiser will have taken some high res drone footage of the event and I noticed it hovering over us for some time so we should have some nice footage of our cars.
  20. It was good to meet up with a fellow F'er there should be some photo's released soon of the event so will post them up when they are posted. Also high quality drone footage of the event was taken. Followed an M4 out of the event and made some noise.
