  1. Having had a good listen to the sound system in my car I've decided to look into speaker upgrading. Being a hi-fi fanatic myself I doubt there is much wrong with the Mark Levinson CD player as it is a single play unit which I consider to be about right as far as I can tell. But the speakers are perhaps the weak link.
  2. I'm still getting at least a 15mm over the max mark despite a drive this morning and checking the level after 2 then 5 minutes so I'm going to drain some out. I hope this hasn't damaged the cats.
  3. The real gem of this era was the Lexus Soarer, whereas the Nissan, GTO and the ZX were the real sports cars the Lexus stood out as a bit left field a bit like the RCF today. I remember seeing my first Soarer it took ages to track down what it actually was and when I found out I was hooked, they did have a reputation of instrument binnacle failure but the one I liked was the model with the V8 engine and active suspension I have it's model designation in the back of my brain somewhere. Very rare cars as a grey import but they were there never did buy one although I should have.
  4. Just heard back from Lexus 5-30 semi synthetic. Available at your Lexus dealer. I may draw it out and put a fully synthetic in as I bought a lot of ultra high quality 5-30 for my Esprit when I had it so it’s thete doing nothing. The engine has been overfilled I think as it seems to be 15mm over max even when checking 2-3 minutes after running.
  5. I've been a big Jap Import fan for years, the era when you had the Mitsubishi GTO, the Nissan 300ZX and the Supra was one of my all time favourites, my wife and I bought one of the very first FTO's too which she ran and enjoyed for six plus years. I had one of the very first MR2's that came to the UK, I took all of the badges off and when people asked me what it was I said it was a prototype Ferrari I got away with it for ages. My love for Jap imports included owning, An Isuzu Vehi-Cross, A Pajero Evolution, a track prepped and road legal RX7, a Subaru SVX. It's funny that I've gone back to a Japanese car. There was an absolute mint 300ZX for sale a while ago that I was very tempted to buy, despite the Supra being a very accomplished car I always thought it the ugly slug of the three. They're having a laugh on the price though.
  6. I guess everyone has watched it, I've just found it and watched with interest with what he had to say about the AVS pretty much confirmed my own thoughts on it too.
  7. It reminds me I need to chase up what they are doing about the delivery stone chip, they sent Chips Away round to look a week ago. Plus I phoned the service department to confirm the type of oil used on the last service at 5100 miles (annual service) In checking the dipstick today the car has not been used (cold) the dipstick reading was way over the maximum line. The handbook says run it then leave 5 minutes to check so I'm guessing it will be a different reading.
  8. And all the better for it too I really don't like the new style.
  9. I also bought the blue RCF model, gave a silly offer which was obviously countered by me but still got it for a reasonable price. Not sure how it differs from the Kyosho model but it seems to have opening doors, boot and bonnet that reveals some nice engine detail. They both arrive about November in one piece I hope.
  10. If it's any help here is my experience, first of all I generally only keep a car about a year so I've had some experience at this. Pistonheads- Quite good but a few dreamers had a couple wasting my time selling my SL63. E-bay- Although I've had over 100 views and 20 watchers there are a load of less than sensible people populating that site. Autotrader- Expensive but it seems to sell cars my last 3 cars have sold very quickly, I've always used it as a last resort being tight but it works. The cars sold quickly on Autotrader were all in the £30K-£50K price range
  11. Thanks, the Corgi Lotus collection is the result of a twenty year worldwide search for mint and boxed cars. I've managed to source a model of every car I've owned including an Alpine A610 which took some searching.
  12. I weakened and bought one, it'll go alongside my collection of die cast cars.
  13. Thanks, I thought it would be over £500 then as you say you can pay more for the quality of products. They've done a good thorough job.
  14. Very nicely done but how much did it cost? I may get our local detailer to go over mine as it does have a few swirl marks.
  15. Sorry the link doesn't seem to work, but if you go on to e-bay and type in Kyosho RCF it comes up. Beware though there look to be some cheaper ones in China.
  16. Kyosho make a very nice 1/18 resin model of the RCF but it's about £170 looks very nice was tempted.
  17. Just going through my service history documents 1 in total I noticed that it states Fuel Econo E/G oil. Can anyone throw any light on what make and viscosity that is?
  18. Not sure yet, I avoid doing too much to a car as you never get your money back and I may get bored with mine after a year.
  19. I should have taken a bit more notice of the plate perhaps it was about midday. You very rarely see an RCF but it was a genuine F and sounded nice too.
  20. Saw a white 67 plate RCF today in the Bordon/Whitehill area. Anyone on here?
