Having had the car a while now one of the things I've noticed is that the car could do with being lower, there is quite a gap at the top of the wheel arch. Looking through Youtube which seems to be the source of all knowledge these days I found this, my car being the AVS model it was of particular interest.

I've just read through some details of the Kyosho model compared to the one I've just received and by all accounts it's a non opening model i.e. the bonnet etc. and having seen some of the close up details it looks a lot like the Kyosho falls down on wheel detail. Too soon to draw conclusions as I haven't received the Kyosho yet

Indeed it is, and this was the cheaper of the two I bought the other one hasn't turned up yet but it'll have to be very good to be better than this. Even the callipers are correct as is the pattern on the discs, the wheels turn and the steering wheel follows. There is suspension that works and the finish is superb. Not sure how many are left but the seller on e-bay does accept offers.

Had a surprise this morning the first of the two RCF models I bought on e-bay turned up. This was the rather cheaper model that I had certain reservations about buying, but I shouldn't have worried it is absolutely fantastic the detail and finish is of the very highest standard. OK it's in blue not red but it is a worthy addition to my die cast collection.

Without going too far off topic the quality of vinyl was also a bit iffy at times. I have a collection of half speed master (Mobile Fidelity etc) discs in vinyl that weigh three times that of a standard vinyl record and of course they sound superb. I agree that music in the car is very limited but until recently I have on occasion had to drive 400 miles to either survey or inspect a building. With the number of speed cameras and other irritations on the road I came to the conclusion that it's best to leave at least an hour earlier, load up some CD's set the cruise control to comply with road requirements and try to enjoy the journey listening to some favourite sounds. Of course blatting around the local twisties only requires the natural sound of the car. -
It was nice to meet up with you and Paul today too.

On my way to MB World this morning to catch up with some MB owners and a couple of Lexus owners. I was overtaken in the tunnel by a blue GSF about 10 this morning.

I'd be interested too because I've always thought that the Pilot Super Sports was the tyre of choice, I've certainly had them on virtually every performance car I've had for the last few years. I was also under the impression that the PS4s is a step up from the PSS.

Varies quite a lot Pink Floyd, SRV, Jimi Hendrix, Greg Allman and quite a few American Rythm and Blues bands (12 bar not the modern R&B genre) As I mentioned I have a very large collection of HDCD's and Mobile Fidelity recordings. Most high end CD players had HDCD playback facility certainly my old Krell CD transport did as does my present Bow Technologies CD player. And of course the standard of sound reproduction does vary from CD to CD -
That's good to know because I'll be going there for my servicing, although I'll probably stick to my local trusted fitter for the tyres.

Indeed I've used Sextons for 20 plus years and generally consider that they know what they are talking about. The other guy I know is equally talented so I'll first of all get his opinion as to whether the cost justifies the end result. To my ears there is nothing wrong with the treble I just feel the bass could be tighter and the mid range some more oomph, we'll see. -
I use a very good local tyre place Denmead Tyre Services, the care they took over my Vossen wheels a while back and again in the past on many occasions has been excellent. I buy mail order and pay them £20 per wheel to fit and worth every penny. They are also used by specialist car restorers Jim Stokes the guy told me the other day he fitted tyres to the wheels of an old Alfa that were £20K to get made.

Hope not -
Good plan holding on, I generally try Camskill for tyre prices although they have messed me about in the past with very cheap prices then failed to deliver. I was pretty pi**ed off a few times but I think they are just the middle-man and rely on other suppliers to deliver the goods. I generally buy from Camskill and get my local tyre place to fit at £20 per wheel. PS4S are supposed to be a step up from PSS by all accounts so I'll be replacing my current tyres with them. Just checked that's a good deal Camskill £996 to just supply

I seem to recall that Harman group swallowed up JBL and a few others in the past. -

Thanks, I've found that I'll have a poke around today. Never heard of Revel speakers though. -

Not sure if my car has the full 17 speakers, again it's early days so I haven't had a good poke around. I must admit the active suspension and TVD were my priorities when buying a car. Thanks, I'm going to start with the door mid-woofers, then the sub at the rear and I'm not too sure if my car has the two speakers at the rear either side of the sub woofer. My first port of call will be Focal for the speakers not the normal ones but the very expensive French assembled units as I have found them significantly better in every vehicle I've upgraded. I very nearly bought some Focal speakers for my home hi-fi but at £50K I couldn't justify the upgrade from my current speakers, but they were good and looked the business. -

Yes I agree audio in a car has it's restrictions and the RCF isn't that bad, ideally I'd like to be able to just replace the existing speakers with better quality ones. -

I quite often have to do longish trips in my car like a 400 mile round trip to see a client. My previous car an AMG CL65 did that so well as the sound system was pretty good. My last trip up to Donington Park Raceway was a pleasant one. Lets face it with speed cameras and unmarked Police cars these sort of trips can be a nightmare so you might as well leave plenty of time, load up some CD's set up the cruise control to save your licence and enjoy some sounds. Hence my plan to improve it if I can. -

Thanks, I've spent a few hours buggering about with settings, the CD player plays HDCD's very well indeed and the system does liven up quite significantly so I'm going down the speaker replacing route. Call me old fashioned but I like sticking in a CD and listening right through. -

Thanks, I've found Focal speakers to be a good upgrade so I'll have a word with our local car hifi set up for a bit of their advice.
