  1. That's right, I also think British Leyland did it with a Rover model but I think they were both expensive spray jobs.
  2. Thanks, I'm glad about that because I spent ages with the colour swatch trying to see how the wrap blended colour-wise with the Satin Bronze of the wheels (not gold wheels by the way)
  3. Took a couple of shots today to try and capture the riot of colour in the sun (failed)
  4. No it's an extra £800 because they have to remove the doors to properly install it. I've seen them at work doing it and it is a lot of work. I'd spent quite enough, although I'm thinking the chrome strip above the doors doesn't look right so may have that in a black/dark chrome later
  5. I've had great fun with the DVLA computer system. Some time ago I went transfer my car number B1RMA to my newly acquired AMG at the same time I bought N21 HOG for my new Harley. Well I went online and did it really quickly, few days later V5C's turned up with the AMG having N21 HOG and the Harley having B1RMA on it. By all accounts it was a glitch in the DVLA' system, but it cost me money with changing insurance details four times at £30 a time. Spoke to DVLA and it was not only computer says no but as much talk to the hand.
  6. Do remember we are dealing with Civil Servants here and I'm sure they would press computer says no in an instant
  7. As teenagers my band tried to copy the likes of Magic Slim and others, quite badly from memory. Today after decades and decades of practice, playing gigs we are still nowhere near the playing ability and skill/timing of these guys. Not really sure what age has to do with the matter though as good music lasts forever.
  8. Yes they do have to be registered with the V5 I was pondering over this yesterday, not sure there is enough room for red, gold, bronze and green on the spaces provided. So I guess I'll have to have a go as wrap may not be suitable.
  9. According to my passenger virtually every other car that went past in the long 50 MPH roadworks on the M27 took a picture on their phone. When they did the unveiling though my reaction was gob smacked what have I done, but the more I look around it the more I like it. It goes from dark red to gold to dark bronze then greeny gold. As you move around it it changes colour in a very entertaining way, photo's can't replicate the movement.
  10. I think it's fair to say I may be a bit too old for that.
  11. Mine was £4K but that did include a super Nano coating, I wasn't sure if the company that did would be happy with me giving prices.
  12. I honestly got tied up with selling my business and my pre CBS Fender guitar collection as most of the guitars went over to the States it was a very long drawn out time/brain consuming affair. Sending 19 plus guitars through customs as some were the price of an RCF. Paperwork and customs were a nightmare but not many UK collectors bothered. I did have a few people look at the car but I didn't do myself any favours in the adverts requesting that need not apply. So the car has been parked up for ages doing nothing so I thought I'd give it a birthday. I will lower it later this year. I'm really looking forward to seeing it in the flesh in about an hours time. I will take my own photo's of it and post them up.
  13. Ban me? I don't think so, after all I'm such an affable sort of bloke.
  14. Thanks for the comments, I don't think Amigo Wraps would like me to quote prices, but it's not cheap. I've also opted for the 'Waxisdead' nano coating on the wrap too. I've been way too busy for some time as I've sold my business and my guitar collection and don't seem to have had the time to come on here for ages. My RCF has been parked up doing nothing for ages too so decided to 'pep' it up a bit. Hopefully when I pick it up today I can take some of my own photos, by all accounts photos can't capture the colour shifts like the eye can.
  15. I don't pick it up until the morning, but these photo's released on Amigo Wraps Facebook page show my car with the Avery Rising Sun wrap, I've also had some super dooper expensive Nano coating put on the wrap. I don't think it's too 'chavved up'
  16. I did wonder, but it does state in the Forum Rules you shouldn't advertise cars for sale so I guess that even though us F owners are few and far between we must abide by the rules. Seems daft to me but hey ho, interesting posts of the past few months just disappear.
  17. I don't use the car very much so there could be a 4 week gap between use so I guess it's not as obsessive as it might have come over as. I can tell you the oil in the RCF at the moment is still golden and clear from the last service, never trusted TPMS so I have to check them manually. I guess having owned a Lotus on and off since 1973 you get into the habit of checking your car regularly.
  18. I agree about Lexus servicing and also the warranty costs, I really can't understand why anyone would be so dumb as to not have an eye on the future sale value of your car. I've mentioned it before but my AMG CL65 was due a major service and I was quoted just under £3K from MB World Brooklands Mercedes, fortunately somebody was interested in my car and I sold it before the major service was due. Having said that I'd have swallowed the service cost because I had an eye on selling it in the future. As for the Lexus Warranty I've just re-newed mine for £900 for two years my Mercedes Warranty was £2K per annum. Anyone with an ounce of mechanical sympathy/understanding/common sense must surely know the importance of regular oil changes if not just checking oil and tyre pressures every other time you take the car out.
  19. Wow, how could someone be so inept as to not check the oil in a car? I know both my RCF and Mini Clubvan don't seem to use oil but I still check it every two weeks just to be safe. I'm afraid I'm of the opinion you deserve all you get for such vehicle abuse.
  20. Interesting comment, I have experienced the exact opposite with my RCF, not sure if it's the colour or the wide bronze Vossen wheels but every time I went over to Goodwood (pre-Covid) to meet up for a coffee and watch the trackway fun with my mates (one AMG owner and I'm an ex AMG owner) they both said 'hey Dave those people are taking photo's of your car' and it's true. When we went to the Simply Japanese do last year every time I went back to the car there were people there photographing it and asking about it. I guess it's not very subtle.
  21. It just goes to show how subjective the looks of a car are. For instance, before I bought my RCf I saw a red one at my local petrol station, I hadn't seen an RCf before and it just instantly appealed just on the looks. When it started up I was nearly sold, i went back to my computer found out it had a N/A V8 monster and i was sold. For the record I went to look at an ISF many, many years ago, I liked it's looks and sound but the early cars ride instantly put me off, which of course is now blown out the water by the Tein active coil-over system for the ISF a member on here has installed. My Mini Clubvan was transformed from a bone shaking experience to a limo like ride when required with this Tein system.
