  1. Well done, nice looking car.
  2. Totally agree nothing like a V8. Many of my friends run Tesla's as well as other cars. I've driven their cars a few times, yes they are quick, faster than my V12 twin turbo V12 but every time I finish driving I do have to proclaim that it's 'dead ****' and don't really want to drive it again, no engagement apart from regenerative braking of which the novelty will wear off very quickly. I'll stick to that lovely noise for as long as I can.
  3. The figure quoted was a quarter sales, it is obvious that it is less all overheads.
  4. I must admit I'm not tempted by any of the current range of cars available from Lexus. I nearly placed an order for the new Corvette C8 as it's going to be available in right hand drive form, and it has a lovely N/A V8 but my local dealer is quoting 2023/4 for cars. The new Lotus Emira is going to be a real game changer for Lotus and I'm very tempted by that as I've had a Lotus on and off since 1973. Problem with them both is I never ever buy the first model produced by any manufacturer as I don't want to be a guinea pig. Answer for me is keep the RCF until both of these cars have been around a while and any issues sorted, then buy one. I hate to say it but I don't think Lexus are going to come up with anything exciting. Hope I'm wrong.
  5. Not sure you would notice any difference on day to day driving between the PS4S and the PS4. When I had my Vossen wheels fitted a year or so back they put PS4S tyres on all round. There is no doubt all the Pilot Sport range are very good tyres I've had them on all my cars, but I think everyday road use you can not really distinguish between them, on track maybe. My main concern was going to 20 inch wheels and whether I'd ruin the ride. But probably thanks to the AVS system on my car the ride is fine and isn't ruined.
  6. I've just read through a post on Pistonheads about them, they are buying up loads of other car supermarket operations. For the record they only made £143 profit on each of the 10000 cars they sold lately.
  7. That was one of the main features that attracted me to the RCF, prior to buying it I tried a special factory order BMW the V8 model it was fantastic the way it seemed to almost shrink around you and went like a rocket. But I felt after driving it a while it was really only comfortable driving quickly, when I tried the RCF it didn't have quite the performance of the M3 but it could switch into comfort mode and be a refined comfortable car something I felt the M3 couldn't do. Let's face it on todays roads having a comfort mode type car probably represents more than 80% of the time, at least for me that's the case.
  8. Any plans to modify it
  9. Not a problem, but only F series park in the drive. You'll have to park in the road, it's very safe as it 's a no through road. Whilst you're here you can test your skills on my Scalextric track, plenty of cars and two go karts plus it's the latest digital set so fuel, punctures etc come into play
  10. No problem at all, you're welcome to come over and have a coffee.
  11. Thought this might be of interest
  12. There is another white one around Southsea that I've seen a few times but I've not been in my RCF. Pretty sure it's owner is not on here.
  13. Of course it's always worth a try, many a time I've put in a speculative low bid for cars and have struck lucky a few times when you hit the possibility of a low sales quarter for the dealership. Lexus were difficult though despite a cash/direct transfer of funds that day I couldn't get much of a deal but did get £500 off and a bloody insulated mug.
  14. Welcome, I'm from the Hampshire area too Lovedean to be precise. Hope to see you around locally can't miss my RCF
  15. I visited the company's web site. Seems like a very honest portrayal of it's condition and dinks. Worth a call, Lexus dealers never want to do a deal even for a straight out purchase so I wouldn't be that worried about it not being dealer. Might be worth checking which Lexus Centre did the last service and ask them for any info.
  16. Hi and welcome, I've seen it on Autotrader for a while now. You just need to check the service history to ensure it has been properly serviced. Photo's do not do the colour justice in bright sunshine it looks fab. Just going to do a check on its MOT history if it has one. Very strange the MOT in March stated 9842 miles but the advert states it done 9400 something has someone been driving it backwards?
  17. Not sure it is common knowledge but amongst owners it is known. It is handy if you are buying something you suspect has been used extensively on track, or a careless, thoughtless owner. I was also informed that it was used to void certain large warranty claims which makes sense. But as an owner you always had it in the back of your mind that what you did was on record albeit errors or plain thrashing your car.
  18. Yes sorry my error, I meant hitting the rev limiter as I drive mine mostly in manual mode. On my Porsche it actually recorded when you did it so the main dealer could note what you had done. Obviously the car was a manual and had a range from 1 to 6, 6 common when selecting the wrong gear going down the box.
  19. Glad you like it, I have to say it is a car that grows on you even more after a few months ownership. I suppose it's a combination of being well put together and an enormous engine that just loves to be revved. I have over-revved mine quite a few times when I'm caught up in the moment. Thinking about that perhaps I shouldn't say that on a public forum as any potential owner will think I've thrashed it.
  20. I've always considered the RCF adequate enough for road use
  21. Typical crap response, people/companies these days never seem to admit the obvious and hope you swallow the sort of crap they think they can get away with. I'm surprised considering some of the past issues that Lexus have sorted.
  22. I guess if you like the RCf a lot and would want it for it's rarity fair enough. I'm still of the opinion they are a waste of money and if you have trackday leanings you would be far better off buying a decent secondhand RCF and a proper trackday car for far less than the cost of this. Just another very important note about Carbon Ceramic Discs on track cars. I had a Porsche with Carbon Ceramic Discs and on track they were brilliant, speaking as someone who regularly boiled the brakes in my RX7 on track the Carbon Ceramics were brilliant. No fade, braked later and much harder but never any boiling either. But and it's a big but, if by any chance you overdid it on a bend and landed up in the kitty litter you could destroy your Carbon Ceramic discs because they are susceptible to any sort of knock. That's why you get extended wheel lugs so the garage can remove the wheel without knocking the fragile discs. The cost of replacement will make you cry too, although they last forever on a road car and no brake dust either!
  23. Don't forget that 2017 cars onwards had AVS which the earlier cars did not have. At the time of buying mine there were a few 2017 and 2018 cars for sale as I certainly had a good look around and found one with TVD and Mark Levinson which was exactly what I was after. As mentioned if you go on to 'How many Left' you can see that not many were registered for the later years. Just checked between 2014-16 159 cars registered. 2017 onwards 23 cars, even less Carbon models 28 up to 2016 and just 2 for 2017.
  24. Check out Brands Hatch when things return to some sort of normality, if it's your first foray on track I'd be tempted to do a package to start with using one of the companies track cars. Then try a trackday package, I expect if you go for it in a fast way you'll boil the brake fluid in an RCF as it's quite a heavy car
  25. Waste of money in my opinion. For that money you could buy a decent secondhand late RCF and have enough money to buy yourself something like a Caterham, or like I had when I had my CL65 a VX220 Turbo. That way you can get Trackday cover insurance that allows 12 trackdays and it will walk all over this heavyweight effalump, plus if you bin the track car you won't cry too much.
