  1. Us Lotus Anoraks met at Newlands some time ago, nice setting and burgers too.
  2. A definite for me they sell CMC models
  3. I'd be up for it, as a collector of old Corgi die cast models it'll be of interest to me.
  4. He did say they were a rare JDM wheel he had refurbished, but I agree something American Car about them
  5. I think the combination of air suspension that really lowered it nicely and the front splitter just gave it a wonderful stance. I also liked the side sections too, not sure whether the rear had been altered.
  6. That's right he did say he had completely refurbished them and it was a very lengthy procedure. All in all it looked very nice
  7. I'm not too sure, it looks like he has spent a few bob on it so maybe upgraded.
  8. Thought I'd share this, my car was in for it's service today and parked in the service was this. Saw the white RCF awaiting collection. Very nicely done, the young chap said it had air suspension (I thought it looked nicely lowered with excellent stance) the wheels are refurbished old Japanese wheels that looked rather special. Despite it being a hybrid RC (very young man so couldn't afford to insure an RCF) it really did look nice. These Lexus RC cars do take well to a bit of customisation and this was an excellent example. He thought mine was pretty cool too.
  9. I don't doubt the efficacy of premium fuels like Shell and Esso but our cars have the dual combustion cycle so in effect if you just use a decent octane petrol this clever engine design does the rest. I have been a buyer of V Power or Optimax as it was when I was running high performance grey imports back in the 90's but these days Shell and Esso charge far too much for their fuel. I've been buying Hydra Fuels additives for the past 5 years or so. The diesel additive is very good so is the petrol.
  10. I've been running mine on Sainsbury's super since I stopped buying V Power a few years ago never had a problem and I leave mine unused for weeks at a time. Each to his own I guess.
  11. Hi found your thread, interesting cars, as I mentioned a chap at our local Pistonheads pub meet had one in a grey colour. It certainly got a lot of attention. Not surprised at the MPG but then anyone buying a performance vehicle is in no position to moan about fuel consumption. I'll keep up to date with your thread as it's always nice to hear about something that's not mainstream car wise.
  12. As far as I can remember I left the rather large mesh type gasket in the main exhaust, or rather they were well and truly stuck in it. So hopefully your new exhaust will have the recessed section which will enable it to fit snuggly, I had a tube of exhaust goo that I smeared over the mesh gasket so as to get a decent seal. Just check the bolts, I put in four extended bolts as the standard bolts were too short. As I'd bought the Quicksilver secondhand no fitting kit was present.
  13. Just noticed you have a Stinger, how is it? A chap at our local Pistonheads pub meet had one and it did attract a lot of attention.
  14. Might be an idea to introduce yourself/post over in the F car section.
  15. I know what you mean, I've just booked my RCF in for it's annual service and I've only done 600 miles in a year since its last service. Must get out more.
  16. Just checked mine as it is a later model and I'm paying £42.87 per month via DD so in total £514.44
  17. Hi and welcome, I'm from around the Waterlooville area and have an RCF, what part of Hampshire are you from, quite a few F owners in Hampshire now. I'm guessing you bought the one from Lexus Hedge End, I'll be there Monday afternoon to have mine serviced.
  18. I think it must be what you refer to as a donut, it was well in place on the main remaining exhaust when I removed the back box. When I checked the Quicksilver the flange looked recessed so as to accommodate it so I guess it was obvious to keep it in place. Remember I bought my Quicksilver secondhand so there were no gaskets or bolts with it. I did stick some exhaust goo around the mesh so as to get a decent seal. If in remember correctly I did have a spare set of longer bolts for the fitting. It was a few years ago now so the combination of time and age has fogged the memory a bit.
  19. I left the large mesh type gasket in the main pipe.
  20. I agree road tax is a bit of a con, also when you consider the Government are collecting about 87p on every litre of fuel(duty VAT) it seems almost like highway robbery on the motorist at the moment. Sorry to hear your plight OP as mentioned the market seems to be very reluctant for big engined cars to sell, but there are a lot of cars that in my opinion are well overpriced at the moment so difficult to draw a sensible conclusion. One thing is for sure there is a s**t storm on the horizon (I know people have been predicting it coming for ages) but I feel things are about to become an awful lot worse sooner than later. So selling now if you can may be a good plan.
  21. I agree it is pricey new, although I only paid £500 for mine in pristine condition. I can believe the weight difference when I changed mine over the standard exhaust it really did weigh a ton compared to the Quicksilver, so much so fitting under the four poster ramp was a doodle and I couldn't believe the weight difference not that it makes any difference to the old heffalump the RCF is.
  22. I installed the Quicksilver myself, it was dead easy although I did hire the use of a proper car ramp from a company that fortunately for me set up in business as ramp hire depot (they have 4 you can hire) just down the road from me so I booked an hour and spent the remaining time checking and spraying stuff with WD40
  23. I have to say that with the benefit of hindsight I'd have bought a valved system. But I would have only bought one secondhand as new they are a bit eye watering and it would be nice to have the option. Having said that I have yet to find a problem with drone that I haven't been able adjust to. As I drive mine in Sport + and manual it's very easy to just either go down a gear or up or feather the throttle to remove it. I would never go back to a standard exhaust after having the Quicksilver or equivalent, and my neighbours love the low thunder of mine in the distance.
  24. I thought I'd titled it Custom RC but I must have not been thinking, this is only marginally worse look-wise than the track edition RCF
  25. Thought I'd share this
