  1. If it were me I'd go for the one with AVS, Lexus dealers are a pain in the proverbial and don't deserve to sell any cars due to the non-discount attitude/policy they seem to run. I couldn't get a cash discount for my car when I bought it but they gave me a mug! Was that symbolic? I would ask the dealer to send you a photo of the engine bay with the top of the struts in the picture because I have found that many get it wrong about having AVS so would definitely worth double checking. Or phone them and ask if there are any wires coming out of the top of the front struts.
  2. It's the one on the crossroads between the A272 and A32 you should see a few cars there. The big field is open for the car display. Just checked it seems to be called both.
  3. I'll let Dave know two white RCF's may turn up.
  4. Never mind there is next month, they generally get to the pub about 6-7 pm so as to get a bit of daylight before it gets dark.
  5. Just thought you f'ers might like to know there is a gathering Tuesday evening 9th August at the West Meon Hut (it's on the intersection of the A272 and the A32. Generally loads of nice cars and people. Let me know you want to come along and I'll let Dave the organiser know how many to expect.
  6. It was indeed, never saw the LC 500's race in this country though. I went to Brands Hatch many years ago and saw the two RCF's racing and managed to get up close to have a look around them when they were in their garages. That link should show a fair few older races with both models.
  7. Hopefully this will be accessible to all. https://cdn.motorsport.tv/2019/June/30/supergt_supergt_buriram_race_en_19.mp4/playlist.m3u8
  8. Ask on the USA site, I imagine a few have done it DIY wise.
  9. I'm easy for either date, more notice the better.
  10. Very nice indeed, I'm a fan of pop up lights too.
  11. I've always loved the 928.
  12. If anyone is interested the remains of our local Pistonhead group are doing a drive then meeting at the Empress of Blandings which is between Southampton and Cadnam on the 2nd July. The drive out starts at 8 and the park up at the pub at 11. Postcode SO40 2PF for the pub, the pub does do good food and the Pistonheads guys are a nice bunch. Normally you have to be in the group to join the drive out but I'm sure they wouldn't mind a few extras. If not the gathering at 11 will suit me as I'm not a morning person.
  13. Why not do the two? one as originally planned at somewhere like Newlands Corner one weekend and also go to Brooklands that way everyone can do it. I'm quite happy to do both as I need to use my car more. Brooklands is great I went there once with the Mazda Rotary Club.
  14. That's a really good idea, the Museum is great then you have MB World just a short path away.
  15. As suggested Newlands Corner is popular, I used to meet fellow Lotus owners there Sunday morning and they did decent burgers too.
  16. Who did you use for the service?
  17. Have you joined the USA forum? there is a mine of information there and some very helpful people. Club Lexus is the site
  18. According to the invoice they are front 20x9.5 ET+10to ET+40 and rear 20x10.5 ET+5 to ET+45
  19. Because I went for wider wheels with a deep dish my tyres are very close to the wheel arches so I have to be careful as I don't want to have to extend the wheels arches
  20. Brave man, I'll follow your work with interest as I've been humming and dithering forever over this as I think the RCF sits just a tad too high. I have a chap who used to prepare my RX7 who is a top man with car mechanics so should be capable of following someone else who's done it.
  21. I leave it unlocked.
  22. I bought the CTEK plug and fitted it direct to the battery, that way I can put the charger in the engine bay which keeps the bonnet slightly open thereby eliminating the possibility of driving off with it connected. I bought the plug with the LED's which give an instant readout of the battery charge.
  23. Not sure if your car has AVS but I've looked into getting lower springs and as you mention Swift seem to be what most people in the USA use. Let's face it they have so many of them over there so it must be the best source of info. I have asked the question on the USA forum and most people with AVS cars have used Swift springs with no problem.
  24. Be nice to see your car and you of course.
