  1. personally i am not too concerned with clunking on a rear wheel drive application, i had a plated diff front and rear on a 4x4 Cosworth which was horrible, changed the front to a Quaife ATB which was much better and the rear was fine. Its been a while since i looked into it but seem to remember the oil change intervals were something like 30k miles for the OSG? regarding the RCF and GSF diffs I believe not all had TVD
  2. based on what? noise, servicing? The Os Giken has through holes on the plates so stays quiet, its also adjustable via spring preload so doent need replacement of the plates so frequently. i am not aware of any non-plated diffs available so you would be looking at ISF, GSF or RCF diffs, i believe there is a IS300 LSD that fits but thats a shorter ratio
  3. sorry its the OS Giken one that would be my prefereance
  4. its the variable valve timing, it will run a massive amount of overlap on startup for Cat preheat
  5. I really like the BC's if you order from a authorised distributor you can spec the spring rates and the shocks are valved accordingly, i intentionally spec'd mine slightly harder than Bilsteins (16-12), at full soft they are about the same as the Bilsteins and at full hard they are pretty stiff, FIGs recommend 14-10 for everyday road use which I think would be spot on if you just want a nice compliant ride. LSD wise I was leaning towards the Cusco 1.5 Way, but closer to when I am ready to pull the trigger will speak with the guys at Gripper Diffs to see what they can do.
  6. My car had Bilsteins on it when i got it, unfortunately I dont know how this compares to stock but it was comfy enough, now on BC Racing Coilovers. LSD is on the list but have not got round to it yet
  7. I have one of these also in blue, I worked with Roose quite a while ago to get these into production, good to see they are getting used!
  8. of course i am up up for it buddy!
  9. I have always had a free courtesy car when using Lexus Coventry
  10. unfortunately it is a bit of a con, i used to buy spark plugs for a well known British vehicle manufacturer working with both NGK and Denso and they both rate their plugs well beyond 60k so the risk is minimal, howeverr is it really worth the hassle?
  11. How new is this rule? II am now 41 so it has been quite a while since i did my cycling proficiency, but back then it has a metre from the curb.....
  12. it failed internally but broke through to the front face, lexus advised that the solenoids within the gearbox would need to be changed and quoted an extortionate price and lead-time) but at a minimum the gearbox would need to be removed and inspected, spoke to a gearbox specialist that i trust who said similar albeit at a far friendlier cost but lead-time was still not good, the cost of labour was the killer so didnt want to fork out once only to find that i had to do it again, so tracked down a known good gearbox and just had that fitted instead
  13. its not just a case of the engine loosing cooling, the coolant gets into the gearbox and can ruin the solenoids, mine did fail with no prior warning, just all of a sudden wasnt shifting gears, pulled over immediately and emptied the contents of the coolant system over the road
  14. this is a good source for part numbers https://www.amayama.com/en/genuine-catalogs/epc/lexus-japan/is_f/USE20/161653
  15. exactly this, my radiator went had it towed to my local Lexus dealer here theyw presented me with a hefty quote only to be told that even if they replace the solenoids within the gearbox it could still be toast, so instead tracked down a new box
  16. Saris Bones 3, i have had mine years and fit every car i have owned in the last 10 years
  17. i found the part number in the end, however the price is astromical, so i will forget that idea
  18. Feels like those spring evenings are finally on their way!
  19. not sur on the water pump as mine was already done, but iirc the parts to do the Rad was about 300 quid
  20. Does anyone know a way of finding out Lexus part numbers? I am looking for the right hand steering wheel controls in the Aluminium finish with the adaptive CC button
  21. erm... young lad, works at Asda, thats all I will say.....
  22. This car is local to me, i have seen it around a few times
