  1. Take them out to have a look, it's literally a 2 minute job 🙂
  2. The topic below lists all the trim levels and what they have:
  3. Well my memory was obviously playing tricks on me because that PDF document shows that it doesn't go through the 'lamp' hole, but just pulls up after removing that Philips screw.
  4. I didn't do that. It's a few years ago now and it was an RX300, not a 400h, but I'm certain you just unscrew the shroud and then either use long-nosed pliers to get it out or just turn the unit upside down and the shroud comes out. EDIT: I found this PDF file a long time ago and have just stumbled across it again. This will tell you everything you need to know: Removing_bulb_cover_from_reverseing__light.pdf
  5. I've often wondered the same thing Piers. Surely, having lights and/or TV come on is no good unless the curtains are automatically going to shut as well.
  6. Given that there are no plans by Lexus to make an Android Auto/Apple Carplay retrofit available for the 2018 RX and given also that I can neither afford, nor justify, the best part of £600 on a Grom Vline, I decided to order a Carlinkit from AliExpress for just under £200. Estimated delivery is 7 to 15 days from China and is free with DHL. I'll let you know how I go on and if I can remember to do it I'll also post a 'how to' video of the install.
  7. Absolutely. However, even if they are inferior, you can buy more than 50 of them and still save money over what you've paid today.
  8. Good grief, that's a hell of a rip off! It's a two minute job, very easy, and a pack of five batteries can be had for a couple of quid including postage.

  10. Brilliant - some photos as soon as you can please Zak
  11. Well the advert's gone so presumably it's sold.
  12. Temporal Key Integrity Protocol (TKIP) is less secure and has been surpassed by Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) so use AES if you can.
  13. Fair enough, just seemed that it would be a bit awkward using both hands at once. I don't think they would play well together because the Noco would effectively always be on charge. When I did mine I put a diode in the positive lead so that current could go from the battery pack to the car but not the other way round.
  14. A couple of things: If the battery pack will be at the front of the car it makes more sense to run the wiring to the jump start terminal in the engine bay fuse box, as it'll be an easier run Unless you're going to use one hand to push the 'momentary' switch and the other hand to push the Start button/turn the key, you'll be better off with a 'normal' on/off switch EDIT: Ignore my first point - just noticed that you have a 400h, not a 450, so the battery is up front, not in the boot.
  15. Looks like this may be your problem: I'll send you some info by PM that may help you further.
  16. Am I reading this correctly? You're looking for the ML amp in your car even though it doesn't have an ML system?
  17. Try these people: https://www.sgs-engineering.com/car-boot-tailgate/lexus/ls
  18. If that could be done I wouldn't have gone to the trouble that I did to fit a jump start socket in the cabin. I'm afraid that there are only three options: connect jump leads to the battery itself in the boot connect jump leads to the terminal post in the engine bay install a socket in the cabin like I did EDIT: Since posting this, a fourth option has come to mind. You mention that Noco does an extension lead with eyelets on one end to leave permanently connected to the battery, and a plug at the other end to plug into the Noco unit, but you said that it's too short and they don't make an extension lead. Why not just cut that lead in half and put an extra piece of cable in the middle to create a longer lead?
  19. In the RX there's a 'shift lock' button that you can press to move the shift lever.
  20. One size fits both as far as I know.
  21. I'm sure that for just a few feet then yes, that should be alright. However, why didn't they (or you) just put it into Neutral and physically push it back a few feet?
  22. But did it actually work and give the desired results? I'm only curious because there's currently an offer on for a 'Sovereign' brand at half-price, £20 instead of £40. It's one of those things where we don't have a leaf blower, we don't really need a leaf blower, but for £20 I'm sure I could use it for something - and that's when I thought of using it for drying the car.
  23. If Lexus themselves and a local specialist in Toyota hybrids are coming to the same conclusion, then I'd say yes.
  24. As per title really. I know there are dedicated car air dryers available but I'm not interested in those and I'm just curious if anyone has tried using their garden blower.
  25. I noticed a couple of stone chips on the bonnet recently. The first photo is the left side of the bonnet, second photo is the right side. What's the best way of dealing with this?
