  1. Not when you're viewing on a Windows PC Roger, not unless you zoom in to make the whole page larger but that doesn't increase the photo itself. Even on your iPad you don't get any extra detail that way, it just starts to go blocky. By uploading the original photo straight to the forum, the forum software shows a smaller photo but makes it clickable so that you can open the original and zoom in to see all the minute detail, which in theory is what you should be able to do even when the photos are held on a third-party website like Imgur. I think the problem is that Paul has made a mistake somewhere and everything seems to work for him as it should because he's still logged into his Imgur account. However, if he was to log out and try it like any of us are, he would also get the "Zoinks! You've taken a wrong turn" message that we're seeing. Of course, I can't make him rectify the situation but it's just so frustrating knowing that there is much more detail to be seen and not being able to get it.
  2. Well, I give up. I don't know what you have against posting photos in this forum, instead relying on imgur, but you obviously don't want to do it for some reason so I'm giving up squinting at small photos.
  3. Great news Ian. Needing the car for two days does imply that the 11 hours quoted is correct.
  4. Given your circumstances and security concerns Max, would it not have been easier/better to just take the battery into the house/garage/shed to charge it there?
  5. There is always going to be a parasitic drain because things like GPS, radio presets, clock and other stuff need to keep their settings. The question is, how much? Around 36mA is considered to be normal, some cars even going up towards 50mA, but anything above that and there's a fault somewhere that needs to be found.
  6. I have no idea what an A10 is but you can get a set of RX roof rails for £370 from here Rear under run £278 and front under run £76 here
  7. Sounds good Nicky but with no link to find it on Youtube, would you just copy the Youtube URL and paste it directly into here please? Just literally paste it into the main text box where you're typing your message and don't use the link button so that it'll show up straight away in the forum. Cheers
  8. Start on Page 518 of this manual that I've just downloaded from lexus.co.uk https://d24bc9lyrt5en5.cloudfront.net/Customer-Portal-Admin/emanuals/LEXUS/OM48D20E.pdf
  9. The details are usually printed on the inside of the fusebox lid. Wasn't 2015 the year they changed from series 3 to 4 - if so, which one is your wife's?
  10. Still no joy when clicking on your photos Paul. Instead of linking to imgur, just click on the link that I've arrowed below to upload them directly into this forum.
  11. Because the petrol engine isn't operating all the time in a hybrid, anything normally driven by a belt from the engine such as the power steering pump, the aircon compressor etc., etc., is driven electrically instead. Oh, and there's no traditional starter motor either - I think it's MG1 that starts the engine if I remember correctly.
  12. Yes, sorry, my fault. Got myself confused there but it doesn't matter anyway, given that the battery negative terminal is directly strapped to the car's metalwork. By the way, the recommendation for using an unpainted nut/bolt/metalwork for jump starting applies to the recipient car, not the donor.
  13. Not done that but I've got a supplier of keys, good quality keys that is. This guy on eBay is excellent and supplies great keys.
  14. Yes you can and basically any unpainted nut or bolt can be used to clamp the earth on to. I believe that Ctek also sell something they call a 'comfort connector'. One end of it is permanently connected directly to the 12V battery terminals and the other end can be positioned anywhere in the boot that's convenient, thereby eliminating the need to mess about getting to the battery every time and you plug the charger in there.
  15. That is exactly my very point - and there is no question of my chemistry teacher being wrong, as a very quick googling shows:
  16. I'll possibly give you No.2, but definitely not your first point. I left school in 1974 but I still remember from chemistry lessons that a catalyst facilitates a reaction (usually by speeding it up) but is not itself changed in any way by that reaction. So whether the precious metals are from a hybrid or not, or whether they are brand new or 20 years old, they will be as good as the day they were mined. The media are responsible for propogating the myth that precious metals from hybrids are 'better' and I do wish they would stop doing it and tell the public that ALL petrol cars are targets. It would mean some other folks suffering but at least it would take the heat off us hybrid owners and spread it around.
  17. @Nick2020 I've just sent you a PM that may be of use in solving the problem.
  18. If they're HIDs it could be the ballast on the way out. It takes about 25kV to strike the arc and about 80V to sustain it so it could be the 80V section.
  19. Me. Cover to cover (skipping obvious bits that we all know).
  20. Surely, as the owners of these cars, isn't it our responsibility to read the owner's manual when we first take ownership? Even if the dealer doesn't supply a paper manual, in these days of the Internet a quick visit to the manufacturers website would usually get a result or if not, a quick Google would.
