  1. That may be the case but I found the car was quieter and more comfortable starting slightly low when running the dreaded run-flats. Now I've changed to standard tyres I will probably go to the 2.3 bar the system states. Thanks for the useful info though.
  2. My warning light alerted me on Sunday when we had a slight frost. This isn't abnormal in previous cars when the weather changes. I had 4 new tyres a couple of weeks ago and although the plate states 2.3 bar I actually like to start slightly low as the tyres get firmer when the temperature from road friction does its stuff. By the time everything was warmed up the monitor reported 2.3 bar on all tyres but the front nearside still showed yellow on the graphic. Ironically, when first started, they all showed 2.1 bar except for the front nearside that started at 2.2 and this was the one that showed as 'low'! I have reset the pressure switch and will see how it progresses but I may have to add a little pressure for these colder times!
  3. I've read this before but it doesn't work on all cars, not even all the same model of car.
  4. Daylight robbery! 😡
  5. Let's face it, it will be no better under Labour. If you can actually define their policies and that's a challenge, they appear to be saying that they will not turnover any of the decisions the current government have announced but they will tax private schools! How will that help? They also say that local mayors and councils will get more responsibility. God help us if that happens. They're diabolically poor managers and mainly self serving in my experience. As for housing. The one thing that councils did do okay is run council housing. They should build more, but better LA housing and freeze out private landlords who may milk those poor individuals stuck in such a housing dilemma. Clearly if we keep allowing over 600,000 migrants per annum, whether legal or illegal then we will never have enough housing and it's immoral giving anyone hope to only dump them in hostels and old manky hotels. Can't we put a stop on things and get ourselves set before we recommence being the generous nation that we have always been. To be honest it is all very depressing.
  6. And that's Holland! They've banned hills there I believe! Maybe just use the bike to get to the cake shop and back Pete!
  7. Tried this in my car (22 UX) and I just get Radar Cruise with one press and ordinary cruise with long press. Must be on higher rated models I guess.
  8. Our Yaris has this (2021) and the briefly owned c-hr had it (2023) but no Lexus I've owned had a limiter. Shame because they're really useful. I have set the overspeed alarm to +3 and that helps to give one a nudge.
  9. I like them but not very practical for my lifestyle. I've already banned my granddaughter from eating an ever lengthening list of stuff and could imagine a total ban in a top end car. Good job I've only got a modest UX.
  10. That's very true but also older people don't tend to have credit. At least that's what I've found. Save, save, save and cash purchase the car!
  11. I agree regarding the fact that wireless should be standard but it's not and isn't likely to be. I got this and it's worked flawlessly for 7 months now. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/buyagain/search/?q=Dongle&ref_=pd_bap_m_srh
  12. Could this include undoing the latest ludicrous rules for cyclists possibly? 20mph would be an improvement when compared to some of the pelotons I am forced to follow through the leafy lanes of Leicestershire. Politicians only really do anything for one reason and it's not to improve the lot of we common folk. Tories will get drubbed. Labour will get in. The economy will turn to sh**t and then the tories will be back again. That's how it's always been during my voting years and I see no change. Thank goodness the Green's have little chance or we'd all be on bikes and not in our lovely cars, Lexus or otherwise!
  13. Tomorrow's World. Now that was a great programme. The one that stuck in my mind was an anti-noise generator for all cars to be silent inside. I believe that some top range Mercs and BMW's now have them! Probably a bit smaller than the suitcase sized box Judith Hann (I think) demonstrated!
  14. Yes. I did check though, just in case!
  15. I don't like Apple. Style over substance at a huge price imho.
  16. Talk about ambiguity. Grammatically I think that description could be described as only showing Apple as wireless. As I mentioned elsewhere Toyota Customer Services informed me that they have no plans to support AA wireless. Of course things change so nothing set in stone.
  17. All the trips on mine look accurate. More than I can say about the service record. It's now showing 30,000 miles more than reality! Must be a manual input error at the garage I assume.
  18. I wish you'd remove that picture of Clarkson please! He once said that all Council Workers should be taken out and shot in front of their family. I worked for a Local Authority at the time and felt incensed! I realise that being controversial was his schtick but he really is the most foul individual ever to grace the gogglebox! IN MY OPINION.
  19. https://www.britabeauty.co.uk/products/ti?fbclid=IwAR05sc3RH6eDllCqNUsfmFHgK0zyaet8cQyN5fzSPojqIm1LAh-4SvI6n_Y&utm_campaign=23858595859260138&utm_content=23858596752530138&utm_medium=Facebook_Desktop_Feed&utm_source=fb&utm_term=23858596027670138 This has to be a scam - surely!!
  20. You have to love those discrete door hinges!
  21. It does look very effective. Is there a master off switch somewhere?
  22. You've hit the nail on the head there Don. It's not the drive-by noise levels it's the transferred noise and harshness over rough ground due to the extra thick, less flexible side walls that's the issue with run-flats in my opinion. I think if I were a high annual mileage driver then I would be able to offset the noise issues against the obvious advantages but I'm willing to take a chance. Had I not changed to standard tyres then Goodyear were my preferred option and to be fair Lexus said they could get those if I wanted them, or any tyre of my choosing.
  23. I know that the preferred service has to be selected in the setup before plugging in the phone. I find it best to set-up the phone connection first, then try the plug-in Android Auto. A good quality wire is essential. A wireless dongle will ease your future connections. Mine works flawlessly and connects within a few seconds of starting the ignition.
  24. Almost. First car was a Marina Coupe, second Triumph Dolomite then all Hatchbacks or estates. It's my preference. If they suit you then that's okay with me.
  25. But at least you'd be able to through 50mph roadworks at any speed you like!
