I have a boot liner, great for keeping the carpet clean but not so good for lowering the boot level. Maybe I need to get the scissors out!

The press release, that you kindly supplied to this group, clearly states all affected models and this includes the UX. Whether a 'software' security feature will be the cure or a physical alteration to the bodywork via the metal plates, or any other fix they devise, is immaterial as LEXUS themselves have identified the failings and therefore have accepted, knowingly or otherwise, some liability should anyone suffer the loss of their vehicle through their neglect. I still think that it's all down to costs and that any manufacturer would move to resolve their higher value vehicle issues before they get to the 'pleb' level. Only my opinion of course and we all know what is said about those.

The press release indicates all models but in reality they're only concerned with the RX. Clearly they care less for the lower priced cars and their owners.

Two Months Of Ownership UX250H Sport Design
Lmafudd replied to Lexnew's topic in Lexus UX250h / UX300h / UX300e Club
School runs and short trips to the allotment and the daughter's, the daughter's, the daughter's (need I go on), have really screwed my overall average but when I do get to go out I get a smile on my face when this happens: 56.1 going to Gates Garden Centre for a lovely lunch and 72.5 doing the exact reverse journey. I must be eager to get there but completely sated on the return - unless it's all downhill! This is not a one-off, happens every time. -
UX250h - potential purchase...
Lmafudd replied to PCM's topic in Lexus UX250h / UX300h / UX300e Club
I'm always impressed that the directions come up on the dash, (near the speedo behind the steering wheel) when using Google Maps. Much safer than looking at the central screen and simplified for clarity. -
After saying on here how good the Meguiars Plastic Restorer is I'm afraid to say that its met it's match today. Leaving the shooting club my friend pointed out a fresh scratch on the wheel arch trim. No idea where it occurred and no idea how on earth a scratch that looks like its been done with a Stanley Knife could 'accidentally' happen - but it has. It's deep enough to catch a finger nail and looks white against the black. Anyone have any ideas? I've seen suggestions along the lines of ultra fine grit paper etc. but I'm afraid of making it worse.

I think it's a genius design, lightweight, easily removable, efficient! No sound proofing but rear end is quiet enough! Great fun folding it though, never have mastered it!

Hey Lexus not working
Lmafudd replied to Srishail Kumar's topic in Lexus UX250h / UX300h / UX300e Club
Lexus built in assistant is all but useless. After trying several music services I've found only YouTube Music, (coincidentally owned by Google) will actually play the correct track when requested via "hey Google". All others play random selections. I do usually have to press the skip button forward then back to start playing the chosen track but at least my hands are still on the wheel! Voice control of Google maps is flawless. I use a wireless dongle and I'm from the midlands where we did away with sounding H's years ago so I doubt that a northern drawl should be an issue - but who knows! Try putting on a Californian accent and say 'like' and ' dude' often! -
Meguiar's Ultimate Black Plastic Restorer https://www.amazon.co.uk/MEGUIARS-G15812-Ultimate-Plastic-Restorer/dp/B0055PD1H4?source=ps-sl-shoppingads-lpcontext&ref_=fplfs&smid=A2KVF7QXNCLV8H&th=1 Wipe it on and let it cure/dry. Don't over-buff. Black looks great until the bird poo/mud/dust hits it! The black trim is the thing I dislike most about my car (and my wife's).

Quoted £285 for Android Auto upgrade on UX250h 2019
Lmafudd replied to mortod's topic in Lexus UX250h / UX300h / UX300e Club
Around two years ago (I had a 66 plate NX at the time), I enquired about upgrading the system to have Android Auto and they said that I would need a whole 'Head Unit' that would cost up to £2,000 (ish). Clearly I didn't pursue that option as I am not stupid but they did say that if my car had been a 2019 variant then the AA upgrade would be free! Perhaps it is worth enquiring with Lexus directly rather than through a dealer. Check-out this page https://mag.lexus.co.uk/lexus-apple-carplay-and-android-auto-upgrade/ -
I'm not certain my car 'heals' I think it must need extra vitamins or something! I have something called 'Club Smartguard Cosmetic and Alloys' - has anyone experienced this? Apparently they will come to the house and 'repair' up to 10 small areas of damage for £30.00 - up to 3 times during the cover period. I think the time has come to call on it!

Another car cleaning session and yet more stone chips. Modern Lexus paint must be really soft. She still looks lovely though!

I've had this with other brands and they always put it down to age. 5 years outside in all weathers clearly damages the rubber. I can't recall seeing a length of service guarantee anywhere but I may be wrong.

Yes, and since Covid they think they're Gods! Worlds gone to hell in a hand cart which is what we'll all be using if the Greens get their way!

I know that Summer has definitely arrived as my mystery squeak has returned. Must be related to heat/temperature I suppose. Last year Lexus Leicester cleaned out the dust from the front brakes and to be fair I can't say that I've heard it since - until today. I doubt I will make a special Journey to complain but it is irksome. It usually occurs when I pull into my street, so driving slowly, at a speed of no more than 15mph. It's not all the time. It's high pitched and seems to emanate from front driver's side of the car. I was feeling so good. Coasting around the village, Pink Floyd Greatest hits on the 'bog-standard' car audio that sounds great and now I'm not so happy. Still 90% happy is much better than 90% sad!

UX250h UK premium sport edition
Lmafudd replied to fourbanks's topic in Lexus UX250h / UX300h / UX300e Club
I was in the exact same position and had four (non-run flat) Nexen Tyres fitted by Leicester Lexus. Admittedly I now carry two cans of tyre gunk. I, like you thought that I'd made the wrong decision buying the UX but since the tyre change I've had passengers comment on how quiet my car is. The terrible road conditions around the country certainly do not help but I'm sure that all cars are affected the same. Now all I regularly suffer from is the fact that the passenger seat belt clip always bangs on the side of the car as it doesn't lie flat until I reach over and straighten it. Secondly - my tin of Smints rattles when down to the last few in the tin! -

If it has Bridgestone RF's then get them changed. Mine's like a different vehicle now having suffered much the same experience. We too have a Yaris and they are indeed lovely and are pretty quiet but they jar your teeth when hitting potholes that the UX glides over. -
Would Lexus diagnose this for you FOC? Say for an estimate? Or do they charge just to look. If you buy the sensor the Tyre place could fit it on any wheel, how would you know?
-
Collected my son-in-law from a vasectomy op this morning. I think we may have a new Pothole detector! All we need is to get all the Councillors and Highways Officers to have the snip then drive them around the area. Start with the lowest paid and by the time the turn of the 'Leader' comes around the roads will be like glass!
-
When I had my new boots fitted it took almost 6 miles before the dash showed the tyre pressure. I know this because the numbers lit-up as I arrived home, 6 miles from Lexus Leicester. I think the short burn on the A6 helped!

AWD/4WD v 2WD What are the advantages?
Lmafudd replied to Sgelten's topic in Lexus UX250h / UX300h / UX300e Club
I'm not attempting to start a row here and I generally agree with the comments in this thread but I'd argue that 2 Grandchildren and two adult spaces do make it a 'Family' car. We've become used to huge cars that we drag around mostly with just a driver on-board especially when going to and from work. I realise the boot isn't huge but 90% + of the time I use the UX it's more than adequate. I've sat in the back, with a Grandchild in one of these huge modern safety seats, and I had no issue with leg or head room and I'm just over 6 feet tall. I moved from an NX to the UX for the very reason that I couldn't justify having such a large but wonderful vehicle that was going to sit around most of the day. Even though there is a view on this site that the UX isn't a 'real' Lexus I think they are an excellent car with many benefits in this modern and expensive motoring age. -
I think we all use a similar method. It's all part of the fun of driving!
-
Seconded. You most certainly do!
