A hybrid petrol vehicle is a better option than a normal petrol or diesel model. You will save in mpg. My 300h does about 45mpg real world with daily short trips. My son bought a Merc 350Cdi at around the same time and cries tears when he spends over £100 to fill it up after 400 miles. He also pays more than £500 a year more road tax just for the pleasure of being able to drive on our pot holed roads. His Merc is noisier and more polluting in both Nox and CO2 and cost more to insure. Maintenance costs are a lot higher than a Lexus standard charge, as Merc dealers see customers as money machines. So all in all, I would always choose a hybrid until electric vehicles are robust, do over 400 miles on a charge and you don’t have to queue at services to get a 15 minute top up. I had a Prius for 10 years before the 300h so I was already sold on the concept. I now have a much better, quieter hybrid, with some performance abilities and at only a 10% reduction in fuel economy over the Prius. Should have got one of these ages ago but dithered.

I think Blackcircles.com is tied into Tesco (or is Tesco in disguise) so the prices are always going to be good. I got my Prius tyres from them at a great price, can’t remember the make now but they were £30 to £40 a tyre cheaper than dealer prices

Happy new Lexus Shada, a great model choice to. You will love it, ever get a chance to have a go in it once it’s fixed. I love the auto box on this car, cvt is pretty good. A tip for your wife is for her to sit with her left leg pulled back against the seat, away from the pedals. When there is any action required, such as braking, just use the nearest foot to the pedal. Or tell her to imagine she is only driving with one leg. My wife will drive nothing other than an auto, to the point I don’t think she could drive a manual any more even if she tried. She absolutely loves our Lexus

IS300H - Heated seats setting
LexusIS300h replied to BrunoLeal's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
I find the heated seats hot on level 3 and I reduce them manually to level 1 after 3 or 4 minutes. As someone mentioned, a first world problem 😂 but it beats sitting on ice cold leather seats in winter. I like the idea of the timed v manual settings so I will set them at level 1 from now on. -
Bye bye IS hello RC...
LexusIS300h replied to Caspa's topic in Lexus RC Owners Club / RC 200t / RC 300h Club
Very nice wheels you have ! I’m still head over heels with my IS but I can see a day when one of these will look good on my drive Enjoy! 👍👍 -
Happy new Lexus Doby ! That style NX is a great car, my son in law bought one after seeing my IS300h in the “flesh”. I also test drive one and it was really good, but decided to go for the IS300h as it’s fuel mpg was better (one of the hang ups of having a Prius previously, I couldn’t accept less then 40 mpg new norm). That said, however, if you compare it like for like in its SUV class it does pretty good in real life mpg. I love my IS but the NX has a better “presence” and overall style. Happy driving, you’ll love it 👍

Spare wheel IS300h
LexusIS300h replied to byrnew2007's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
I’d thought of doing this too, not top of brain but one of the things to look at. Has anyone used the goo in the can for a puncture and if so does it mess up the tyre pressure sensor? -
Potential purchase
LexusIS300h replied to Stevie1529's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
There’s a 66 plate one with 11000 miles for sale at just under £21000 on Auto Trader today, so I would think your one is expensive -
I have only had 4 fill ups from owning my car and the first one was premium fuel by accident. It recorded the worst fuel consumption of the 4 fill ups, brim to brim, so I wasn’t too happy with that. I don’t think I drove any differently and I know the tank was full when I bought it, so maybe I was unlucky but I think I will stick to standard no frills petrol

Is200t 2016 or IS300H
LexusIS300h replied to cadman2k's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
I have had a 300h for 3 months now and absolutely love it, very plush and comfortable, not to mention very quiet. For me I think the 200t would be too harsh, but I could be wrong. -
Car boot liners for 2016 IS300h
LexusIS300h replied to LexusIS300h's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
Glad you got one William, it will do exactly the same job as the OEM one and save you some money. Mine looks great every time I open the boot and drop something in it 😂😂 -
Wing mirrors angling down on reversing
LexusIS300h replied to LexusIS300h's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
Thank you for the replies, I think this answers it though. I don’t have memory seats and mirrors. Just another little gizmo (like a rear view camera) that would have been useful on my car. Oh well, I will just have to turn my head when reversing 😂 -
I read in the manual that the wing mirrors can automatically angle downwards when you put the gear shift into reverse, presumably to see the roadside easier. i tried this but nothing seemed to happen, so I thought I would ask if this is a thing only available on luxury or premier models? I have an executive model, which does not have the auto mirror fold in and out on start up or turn off. Thanks in advance

You could hold off for a while because the new Camry is making an appearance in the UK in 2019. I loved my Camry, plenty of room, well built and reliable and a decent turn of speed. i understand that the ES series Lexus and the Toyota Camry are built in the same platform, while the GS series is discontinued. In the Lexus department have you had a look at an NX? Plenty of room inside? Maybe not quite what you were looking for.

Do Lexus dealers want to sell cars?
LexusIS300h replied to Flytvr's topic in Lexus F Club - Lexus IS-F / GS-F / RC-F Club
I don’t like pushy salesmen or women anyway, so I was very pleased with the lack of a push, although as mentioned by others earlier in this post, I had done a fair amount of pre qualifying as a buyer before we even got to the dealership in Derby. A tyre kicker doesn’t travel 80 miles to do that. As it transpired we didn’t buy the car we test drove, but found a newer one in the dealer lot just walking around afterwards. It was a little more than what we had in mind, but it was newer, so we weighed that up and said, ok we will buy it. No pressure from them. Maybe we didn’t get the deal of the century but we got more for our part ex than they originally offered, so everyone saved “face”, no discounting from the dealer and a better trade in price for us. Everyone happy. 😊 -
Happy new wheels and you I’ll love it, very quiet and refined and not too shabby in the performance department. I find that ECO is only of any use in stop start traffic, keeping the vehicle for the most part in electric mode. Other than that I drive it in normal mode and every now and again change to Sport and using the flappy paddles, drop a gear and overtake (just for the fun of it). It’s quite brisk but for the most part unnecessary if you do some forward planning anyway when wanting to overtake.... just does it a bit quicker 😂

Hi and welcome here. I only joined a couple months ago but it’s a good place for info on your wheels

Some Feedback for Lexus Derby
LexusIS300h replied to NothernDan's topic in Lexus F Club - Lexus IS-F / GS-F / RC-F Club
We didn’t go on your run as we are slumming it in an IS300h, 😂😂, but we bought it from Lexus Derby and know Alex well. He is the most courteous, enthusiastic, eager to please person we have ever met, at a dealership or anywhere else. It’s an 80 mile trip to get there for us, but next service we will probably go, mainly because of the VIP superstar treatment Alex gives to all his house guests. -
Heated External Mirrors
LexusIS300h replied to LexusIS300h's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
Thank you for the replies, I feel better knowing it’s there now 👍 Pretty obvious now when I zoomed up the image and it’s a wing mirror 😂, just thought it was the rear heater pic again. -
Sorry if this sounds like a “derr” question, but I haven’t had a car with heated wing mirrors before and the IS300h has them. How exactly do they start heating as I can’t see anything about that in the operating manual? I don’t see an obvious button to press either. I thought I would get this question in before they are likely to be needed, now that summer has deserted us
