    Please ask if they can update their systems so that those cars with personal plates can be identified. All government sites, and spare parts dealers can find my car. When I call a Lexus/Toyota dealer, I either have to quote the original registration number, or they have to input manually.

    Just had a detailed survey via email from Lexus. 'How would I feel if my car could be serviced to Lexus standards at Toyota?' Well being as it would be 2 miles away instead of 32, and if prices were midway between Lexus and Toyota, bring it on!!!

    I had similar problem on a Prius. Change of spark plugs sorted it. Try an Italian tune up first!

    I consider it essential to have two keys. If you only have one, and lose it, you have no hope of getting into or moving the car. Then, a way will have to be found to reprogram everything to accept new keys. That'll cost more than getting second key now. When on holiday, I always take the other key to either leave in the hotel, or give to my wife. In the old days, a magnetic box in the engine bay that I could reach from underneath. A stitch in time etc..

    When I was 18, my first car was an Austin A30,a present from my parents. With some present money I purchased a bottle of Redex, along with other stuff. First spannering job was to remove the plugs and giving each cylinder a good squirt. We lived in a close, and the result didn't go down well with the neighbours. The whole close vanished in thick smoke, taking ages to clear.

    With all the hot weather we've had, there is a possibility that the tank has imploded, thus reducing capacity drastically. Have seen it before.

    My mountain bike has Slime anti puncture fluid in the inner tube. And they're fitted with green dust caps.....

    My grandson likes to pop the boot open by pressing the button under the steering wheel of my RC300h. He also turned off the parking sensors next to it. Guess who managed to tap the rear bumper on a low wall.......

    Push the boat out and get the Aston Martin version, the Cygnet!!! Seem to recall that someone had one built with the V8 Vantage engine fitted...

    If it has the same set up as a Prius, it is most probably the drop links on the front suspension. Difficult to spot if the car is jacked up as then there will be no play. Best on a four poster ramp as the wheels are then on the 'ground'. Grasping the rod should then reveal play.

    I think this is exacerbated by the tyre pressure warning systems. Before these, wise people checked tyre pressures every couple of weeks necessitating dust cap removal, and the caps were often plastic. Now there's no need. Mine rarely need adjustment, so are hardly ever removed. So I use a bit of vaselene to lubricate every 6 months or so.

    Just go to settings and invoke the ignore user option. I did a long time ago.....

    I've had 2 cars with Bridgestone tyres fitted, and both sets needed replacing due to cracking, despite being very careful maintaining correct pressures. Both sets had plenty of tread left across the full width. Google cracking Bridgestone tyres!!

    Quite often, good finance and lease deals sway an owners decision. That may be so in your area. Was on holiday in Madeira last year and Dacia people carrier Taxis were the main choice of newer vehicles. There were also the usual Mercedes 123, 124, 201 and 190's about.

    My RC300h is the same. Obviously noticed and touched it when cold. Assume it's to allow for expansion when hot, but haven't checked it then.

    Cost of road tax. Cost of fuel. Low mpg. Having to pay for the better fuel. Cost of living. Working from home. Plus things I haven't thought of!!!

    Had 4 new tyres fitted a few weeks ago. The fitter was very careful and marked the inside of each rim with a yellow marker to indicate which corner it came from. No damage, and no pressure problems after.

    Same here. I'm 67 and now retired for 4 years. OK for money, so thought I'd do some volunteer work. As you, the amount of hoops to jump through to give my time for free are astounding. So gave up. Thought it might be easier to do a paid part time driving job, but as you have found, the same difficulty. So F them, I'll continue to enjoy holidays and the Lexus!

    Looking from another angle. The 3 tyres all losing the same amount of pressure could be explained by the temperature and conditions not being the same when the second reading is taken. Warm tyres will give a higher pressure, cold tyres a lower pressure. That's why pressures are reduced on track days etc. As for the odd one losing pressure, get the tyre swapped over to one of the other rims. You should then get an indication as to whether you have a porous rim or slow puncture.

    You're dead right there. It's in the same position in my RC. With a child seat installed, it's a very snuggly place for a teddy bear 🐻....

    When I had a Prius as a taxi, it was always like that after 3 months and 10,000 miles. Not surprised when in use 12 hours per day, 5 days a week.

    If selling at £215k and buying for similar, have you budgeted for selling, legal and stamp duty fees? Presume you've looked at bungalow prices? The lack of new bungalow builds is creating a premium on prices now, especially in my area. Whatever you do, don't go leasehold!!!
