  1. Yep, same as me. Had an ISF, and now an RC300h. Don't want an SUV, despite having a couple as courtesy cars. An ES is too big for our requirements, and an IS is now obsolete. Why not import the new IS? And why no estate versions of a model?
  2. Seems like the battery may be beyond its best. Disconnect it to charge again if you didn't before. When you reconnect, it may reboot the systems. Electrical glitches are common with a failing battery.
  3. Well, glad it's not just me! I noticed this on Monday, but haven't got round to consulting the manual yet. I couldn't remember touching anything so pressed the button, only to have to do it again on the next journey. Must be normal then.
  4. Self serviced my Prius taxi every 10000 miles. Never changed CVT oil. Sold it at 192k miles, still going strong at 224k miles.
  5. My RC300h also has the recall.
  6. Every sympathy, I know how it feels. I had a low speed crash on my bicycle last year. Went down with a thud on my left side. My chest landed on my folded elbow, with the pointy inside of the elbow digging into my ribs. Quite badly winded, and then had to ride 10 miles home in agony. As you say breathing is difficult especially in bed. Seems like you keep taking shallow breaths, and then you have to brace yourself for the inevitable big breath that really, really hurts!! Don't laugh, cough or sneeze. Good luck.
  7. My 2 Grandchildren aged 5 and 7 fit in the rear of my RC hybrid quite easily, using child seats. I use car seat protectors and a thin yoga mat underneath to avoid indentations in the leather.
  8. I had a similar problem in my 2007 Prius. If I plugged my phone in at 50% and used it as a Satnav, it would only seem to replace what the phone was using. Unplugged at the end of a journey would still see the phone at 50%, ie no increase. Purchasing an uprated cigarette adapter solved the problem, charging the phone to 100% in no time.
  9. It works the other way round as well. Chap opposite me has a personal plate. He gets a brand new car every 3 years. He leaves the new plate on for 6 months to show off, and then puts his personal plate on at the start of the next new issue.
  10. Somebody may have put a plate on it to disguise it's age!
  11. Most space savers will not fit on the front. If you puncture on the front, replace with a rear, and put the saver on the rear. Not ideal, but it would get you moving temporarily.
  12. Well, I must be a complete dinosaur. I just haven't a clue what everyone's on about. Perhaps that's the best way.
  13. Many years ago, I had been working in the engine bay of my Cavalier. In the evening, whilst walking towards it, I noticed a drip on the bottom of the front bumper. Knowing anti freeze is sweet, I touched and tasted it. It wasn't sweet, so I smelt it..... A tom cat had sprayed there😝
  14. Welcome to the forum and Lexus ownership. I don't mean the following to be controversial but..... You seem to have purchased a very expensive car, and then moan about the service costs, when all available information is available from the Lexus website and dealers. As consolation, if you keep the car for 10 years, you should only have service costs, with no repair or failure costs. I presume you know about the 10 year Relax warranty, or didn't you notice that either......
  15. I've had an ISF so have experience of one. Whilst a very good car, I do think the majority are over priced now, considering the present economic situation. They are also getting on a bit now, and although relatively bullet proof, a problem now could be very expensive to rectify, especially as most are now out of extended warranty. Which brings us to the RCF. If you don't need 4 doors, you get the next best thing. Same performance, newer, more modern looking, and the massive benefit of the Relax warranty. Excluding those as write offs, there are a few about at £25k, and a good choice below £30k. I know what I'd go for.
  16. When I call the dealer I use, they can recognise my car from the plate. I will continue to call directly. Can't be bothered with all this online booking app stuff. I want an immediate answer, and can only get that via a human being. Why can't Lexus get infotainment systems and online systems to work properly?
  17. Looked today, and this system like all the others by Lexus, still won't recognise my car because of my cherished plate. Says it will not take a booking for a Toyota. Plate was on my Prius, before this Lexus.
  18. If it has a similar key to my 2016 RC, you should be able to lock the key. Lock the door as usual, then hold the locking button down again whilst also clicking the unlock button twice until the red light stops flashing. Try the handle and it should be locked. To unlock the car, press the unlock button in the usual way.
  19. You could always purchase one of the other colours a spray with grey plasti cote.
  20. I also replied to this. Cynic in me says it seems to be a very expensive hourly rate. The previous survey was about combining Lexus and Toyota servicing together. What are they up to?
  21. Most probably worn drop links. You can't really check them for play by just jacking the car up and letting the suspension hang. Needs to go onto a solid ramp.
  22. If you've got a new set to go on, drill a small hole in the old ones, insert an allen key, and pull with pliers.
  23. To me, it's a strange thing to worry about. What would worry me is that if that 18 litres is always in reserve, wouldn't it had gone off by now, rendering it useless if it was ever needed.......
