  1. Are you talking about plastic clips with the plastic pin that comes through the arch liner and into front bumper? On front arches I had the same issue and ordered clips from Chinas but they were not compatible with the Lexus, I had to order these from Lexus directly.

    Hi!!

I can tell you I am not brave enough as well to perform anything like that! 🙂
  3. I thought it is a nominal price and if I get it for £40 that is only due to garage good will towards me. I didn't know you can negotiate the price on MOT! Thanks gents!
  4. I will check with my Local Garage how much they charge for an MOT. According to Gov.uk the price is £54.85
  5. That's the thing - Hybrid Health Check! 4 weeks ago I payed for it separately and no one at the service desk offered me a Minor Service that would include a HHC, at that time I wasn't really much aware of this service, so if I am going for a service know it will be just an oil service + warranty. If I was offered this deal at the time I would have went for a Service and a warranty but now this service will cost £315 + (£59.95 HHS) + MOT (£54.95 I have been told by Lexus), so £430 roughly. Grrr!
  6. This is for 9 year service - interim service. It is £315, so a bit inconsistent.
  7. According to that link @johnatg mine GS450h at 58500 miles is £285, which I thought is correct but if I check Relax Service online, it comes up at £315! I also phoned Lexus Glasgow yesterday to book this service and they said it is £310, to include MOT at £55, the total sum comes up quite high for just an oil change. Yes, I know I will be getting a 1 year warranty but still .... I am still thinking what to do, just get an oil and oil filter from Lexus and change it using private garage, this would cost me probably around £100 in all or pay almost £400 and get a 1 year warranty! 🙂

    Hi!!

Hi Katherine, welcome to LOC. Lexus GS450h 2012, is that MK4 already or latest MK3 model? Did you see this video: This is for MK4 GS, I haven't tried it yet, not sure that I will but might be a good use for you. Regards Vladimir
  9. Passed a Hybrid Health Check on Friday (from 2nd attempt) and also did a wheel alignment, Lexus said the wheels needed to be adjusted but I don't feel the differences before and after. While in a Lexus garage I sat in ES, damn, from outside it is the most beautiful saloon on the market! I was nicely surprised with the boot size.
  10. Hi Craig, welcome to LOC! I also moved from BMW, more than 3 years ago, some friends are still shocked but they do still think sooner or later I will be back to BMW, so far I do not want it! 🙂 Plus, Lexus was recognised for another year as most reliable brand, which helps, a lot! What made you choose a Lexus and not another BMW? I am not far from you, Stewarton, East Ayrshire, almost neighbours! 🙂 Forum here is indeed so much quieter! 😉 But you answered this questions yourself - not much problems to report! Let us know when you get the car! Good Luck!
  11. I contacted Lexus online and they confirmed they do have these prices for front discs and pads +labour, but they advised to check with the dealer first if they support this offer. Just parts (discs and pads) still cost just under £430! Doesn't make sense!
  12. Yep, it says £325! I will give them a call, something tells me that this price is for smaller discs (Luxury model) but I will find out.
  13. Robert, I think the discs are not exactly well designed for heavy car as GS, at the start they perform well but after some time, after couple of heavy braking they might become warped, I know that an older Toyota Camry has similar issues. I will check your link again, thank you.
  14. Hi Robert, yes, for my model (GS450h Premium) the front discs are pretty expensive and the problem is they are not the best quality, in my opinion, even if they are a Lexus supplied. I couldn't find in UK any aftermarket discs and pads, I guess in USA there would be someone selling aftermarket parts. This is from Lexus online shop: And the Lexus Glasgow dealer wants even more money for it, I do not remember exactly but something around £600-650 for the same set. When I asked them if they can match the price to online shop they refused to match it or even drop a few pounds off. Rear discs I had no issues finding, I had then from Dingbro for about £130-£140 which is still cheaper than Lexus online shop.
  15. £430 for my front discs and pads from Lexus Parts Direct! Discs I have now were already skimmed as they had plenty material at that time, now I need to go for a new set, if I decide to change them. The car is still not being used full time so little vibration (occasionally) doesn't bother me. Can't believe how much cheaper discs and pads for GS300h, more than half a price, I think you can get them for like £160-170!
  16. Thanks Colin, the discs were so corroded that I could see nothing stamped on it, plus average thickness was about 20.5mm. Luckily rear discs and pads are not that expensive (£160) compared to front ones at £470!
  17. Some things can be prolonged in service some can't and need to be replaced. At the end of the day I had to buy a new set of discs and pads as rear discs were heavily corroded.
  18. I couldn't agree more!
  19. I know John, this what stops me applying these stickers but it can work other way as well, if they see the sticker they might try to find another car to "work" on. Not heard of a GS being attached either John, fingers crossed it stays that way!
  20. Had a Hybrid battery health check on Friday which is failed, apparently there was an error message logged in a system that my auxiliary battery is weak (old? or not used enough?), so Lexus Glasgow cleared the code and asked me to come back after I cover minimum 500 miles to have a check up again. Also had my Catalytic converter marked with the special pen (this is not a cat lock of course)and registered online. I am in doubts if I need to put stickers on windows saying that Catalytic Converter is Forensically Protected!
  21. Congratulations with the new car, it does look very nice! Enjoy!
  22. Congratulations! It is not a bad choice! Reliable and a good looking car! If I decide to leave GS it might be to go with the Korean manufacturer too.
  23. What is the new car on order @Shahpor?
