  1. Thats good to know John, I didn't know it would be covered by warranty. Lucky you had an Extended warranty.
  2. I see what you mean, I have not seen yet a sticky piston, not sure if it can be cleaned and lubricated. All depends on how much it cost, if the price is acceptable I would go for a new calliper. Knowing the price of the discs and pads on my GS model I think it will be very expensive but other Lexus models are not that bad price wise. I would check youtube 1st and find out if sticking calliper can be saved.
  3. John, may be a little brake maintenance will safe your money and your calliper? Try to remove the calliper from the hub, clean the pads, spring plates and the sliding pin, re-lubricate it all and put it back together. If you have good tools and lubricants you can do one side in 45 minutes tops. Buy yourself a brake cleaner from Amazon, it cost about &7 a can but is fantastic and brake lube is cheap too. I do my brakes (above procedure) twice a year, just so I avoid seized calliper situation.
  4. Rain Free side windows? How is that!? I will google it! 🙂 @Mincey very interesting review! Well done and thanks, I think whoever (I am) is interested in ES will find it very useful!
  5. Hi Craig, congratulations with the new car! When I bought the car I also noticed the floaty feeling, especially on motorway, then I had a chance to drive behind my GS (in another car) and noticed how the rear heaves up and down! I took it to Lexus and thought my shocks are gone but they seemed dry and normal so I just left it as it was. I think it is a GS riding comfort feature! 🙂
  6. Another routine front brake maintenance, I usually do it twice a year, before and after the winter. Callipers were removed, all pads and pins were cleaned, re-lubricated and put back together! 👍
  7. Congratulations! The colour is stunning! Keep us updated how you find the car different to IS!
  8. I had it as a lease car while my GS had service and MOT dome last Friday, I really liked the car, I was nicely surprised by the way it drives, how it absorbs the potholes, also how comfortable and quite it is! Suspension works pretty quite too, very supple but the same time it goes around bends pretty flat and stable! Acceleration is pretty good too and from 50-70mph it goes quick, it feels like it is quicker than my GS or this is because it is quitter, yes, it seemed quitter than my GS too! If it was slightly bigger I would definitely consider it as my next car, and yes, the electric range could be a little bigger.
  9. Thanks @Shahpor, just had a phone call from Lexus, all is good, passed MOT with no issues at all! Also oil service (minor) is done so technically I have a 1year Lexus warranty! Happy!
  10. You are right, it is an UX300e, not 300h! Ups! Thanks! 🙂
  11. Submitted my car for an MOT and a service to Lexus Glasgow, I have been given an UX300h as a lease/courtesy car. My 1st properly driven fully electric car (I had a quick shot in Tesla 3 a few months ago) and I like it, a lot! It is quite, instant acceleration and it goes pretty well too, I tried to accelerate from 50 to 70 and it was probably quicker than my GS! The car is also very well specced! Only if it was bigger, for my needs is tiny! KIA Niro may be? 🙂 I also hope my GS will get through MOT check painlessly!
  12. @Shahpor I love cars so even if you have bought a Fiat (or a Jag) I would love to hear about it! Please keep us updating, especially a new Genesis is something different and looks like a good package!
  13. @Shahpor congratulations on selling the car, especially to someone who will be taking care of it and now a fellow forum user and a Scottish - one more GS 450h to be in Scotland! How does it feel to be without GS? You must be sad! When will you get your KIA? I keep looking for another car (not planning to part yet with my GS) and have no idea what to go for, as soon as I imagined other car under my ownership with jerky gearboxes, dodgy reliability etc all that searching is putting me off of getting another car brand! I have to make my decision though next year! I hope you won't be leaving the LOC forum! Regards
  14. Congratulations Matt, very nice car! Yesterday I drove an ES for the 1st time, very comfy!
  15. Chinese RX Model looks like in decent details! I have a KYOSHO model of my GS, cost me last year just under £140, it was on sale as original price was about £200.
  16. Congratulations James! It is a very beautiful car imo! I have never driven one but friend of mine bought a brand new couple of months ago, he should come for a dinner today and hopefully he will be driving his new ES so I can take it for a little run. I don't even know what to expect from ES, it will be interesting! Add photos of your new car too! Vlad
  17. I have done it but do not have the photos, try to remove screws under the corner of a bumper to give the wheel arch a bit more play. Saying that - the wheel arch quite flexible too so that helps.
  18. It is a still good looking car, I think. Would I buy it now? No, out of my price range, will I buy it in 3-4 years time? Doubt that as in 3 years time all the systems NX offers now will be old by then, I mean conventional hybrid and even a PLUG-IN hybrid version unless Lexus will offer a full electrical version which will be expensive.
  19. Many thanks @essldn The closest one is in Carlisle!
  20. I will ask Lexus to check front suspension again during MOT check. Thanks
  21. I have asked Lexus Glasgow to check the suspension a few times and they never found a fault, in a last three years I have done 4 or 5 times wheel alignment and the car still not as direct as I got used to based on my previous cars. Lexus does well when you go well above speed limit though! 🙂 I have done just under 60k and I noticed this behaviour when the car was at 30k! So I can't say the suspension is/was tired. I got used to this by now, I think! 🙂 Road forcing balance - I never heard of it, does dealers do that or it needs to be a specific garage? Thanks for the input Shane. Vlad
  22. @Aleksi if you search through this forum you will find lots of info wrt GS Premier front discs: These are just most recent ones. Good Luck!
  23. After a lot of thinking and considerations what to do with my Oil Service which is almost due I decided to go with Lexus Garage (Glasgow). I contacted local garage and the price would be £140 cheaper compared to Lexus, it was not enough to swing me towards private garage as obviously they do not provide a 1 year warranty, so yesterday phoned Lexus and booked an appointment which will include an MOT too. I also will get a courtesy car and they promised it will be free of charge. Lexus Glasgow has an RX450h and a few UX as a courtesy car, I hope to get an RX though! 🙂
  24. Hi @Aleksi, this sounds correct and @J Hendersonis right, Premier and F-Sport GS450h came with larger front discs i.e 356x30thk mm. In UK you can get them from online Lexus shop, see link below, it will cost you about £430. https://lexuspartsdirect.co.uk/parts/lexus-gs/lexus-gs-phase-iv-2012-2018/lexus-gs-4-brakes-transmission/lexus-gs-phase-4-front-brake-set-f-sport/ I called Lexus Glasgow (Scotland) and they offered something in origin of £650 for discs and pads. I have a little wobble too but not always for some reasons. Couple years back I skimmed the front discs and changed pads too which helped but not for long! Dingbro one of the largest car parts suppliers in UK couldn't find the required larger discs either, it didn't even show up on their screens as an option so the only option I have is to go with Lexus online shop, at some point in the future. I tried to find discs via other brands Bosch, Brembo etc and there was no luck! Let us know if you find anything Aleksi. Vlad
