And thats why you need a dash camera! It is so shocking how much aggression there is on the road! I think COVID made it worth, people drive less and therefore drive worth with less patient, it is dangerous world out there!

Steve, I am not sure but if car insurance will be too greedy or not cooperating than I will check my travel insurance too. Thanks for the idea!
-
Thats a very good idea and I will do it as well! It's just it never happened to me before so I didn't need it! What labels do you use?
-
It should be something like that up North too, I haven't looked at it yet. Thanks though, it is good to know that it can be done not just via Lexus delear!

Thanks @bernieeccles, did the key from Aliexpress come fully programmed? Or you had to programme it yourself via Techstream?

Got a call from Lexus, £450 for a new key, with the blade. They said I can get it cheaper as I am a Lexus Owner Club member! 🙂 Will contact in January my insurance to find out what's the deal with the Lost keys.

Hi Malc, I will check my bank cover but doubt they cover car keys, they are more like travel cover, phone cover and if your car broke down, they will get you home and the car to garage.

I phoned Edinburgh Airport and they have no keys but took my details in case someone will hand them in. The end of this year is terrible - light bike crash, car crash, lost keys, I had enough! Usually my year ends with the burst tyre, this one was much more severe! Had a phone call from Lexus, they will call me back with the price but sounds like it might be up to £450! The BMW key might cost the same!

I am still awaiting for a call from Lexus Glasgow.

Hi, Merry Christmas! 😉 I have lost them not in the house, I/we (my wife or I) have lost them in Edinburgh Airport on on the way to Airport, after we parked and locked the car on Long Stay parking. When we came back from holidays we couldn't find the keys in our possession and we defo did not see them while we were on holidays! This never happened to me before, I usually very careful with the stuff like that but having 2 kids, 4 large rucksacks and a baggy (my wife hates to pay crazy money for check-in luggage) makes it easy to forget something plus my pockets were not deep enough to hold the keys. I can't remember when I saw them last time, for all I know I could put them on the tray during security check with all other stuff, so I could have left it there, do not know! 😞 I already filled a Police form which provided my with a Lost Property Number, so a call to insurance to follow, at lease to find out what is the procedure.

Hi all , I have lost one of the keys for my GS450h (wifes BMW too)! Phoned Lexus to find the price to replace but there is only one guy who is working so they should call me back. Any idea what the cost of replacement keys are? I still another key. Also I my car has keyless entrance and start, will that have an effect on price? Any advice? I think my keys are covered through insurance, if I contact them, will it be a considered as a claim? Cheers!

Forgot to add - the car looks great! Never had a white car myself, well, may be one day! 🙂

Hi and welcome to LOC, it is a great online forum! @Mr Vlad was 1st to ask but I would have the same question - is only the size of the F-Pace that made you change the car? 🙂 Totally different two cars, it took me a while to get adjusted from BMW and a diesel torque but now I love the gearbox, how smooth the car is and so far the reliability! Merry Christmas and enjoy your new car!

I just checked Aliexpress and as you say, advert says the flaps for GS but on the photo you can see Ford allow wheel so suggests it might be a generic mud flap. Also it doesn't say if the mud flaps are for the F-Sport or Premier model which I think have different indentations/shape of the rear bumper or front wings. I know for a fact that 5 Series BMW had different shaped mud flaps for SE model and for M-Sport model. Oh well, I lasted for 3.5 years without these, but always wanted them, and now when I hope to change the car by the end of next year it is to late to buy them. 🙂

I find mud flaps is a really good option, I wish I could add that to my current GS. Having them on keeps the sides so much cleaner!

Trying postimage to attach the photo. Repair is not too bad on a 1st check, I need sunny day, wash the car, dry it and then I can examine it properly. Found couple bad points already - one of the plastic clip under the bonnet was missing so I replaced it myself. Front passenger alloy wheel has a slight black paint overspray, I guess it was badly covered/protected while the car had paint respray. And 2 clips are broken that hold front wing cover/underlay to the wing and front bumper.

Hi @Linas.P, just saw your advice, thanks for taking time to write it. I contacted my insurance straight away who organised the hire car (Octavia) and repair shop. I had to pay my excess just before my car was delivered to me on Saturday. I never heard of a scheme you mentioned but in my case it is hard to prove it was not my fault, I do not have a dash cam recording to prove my innocence and other party most likely they are not guilty too. Anyway, the car is fixed and back with me and excess is paid. Now no one knows how long it will take my insurance to sort out whose fault it was, it feels like they are not bothered to be honest. I should get my renewal from them within next few days as my insurance is due 1st week in January!
