  1. MIke thank you, I tried to contact Steve (@admin) before creating a thread but for whatever reason the messages did not get through to him so I ended up with a thread. Thanks
  2. Paul many thanks, it was an interesting experience and the good thing you need to re-do your test every 3 years so it keep you on your toes all the time! Tbh I think all the drivers should be re-doing their driving and theory test every 7-10 years, roads would be safer for that.
  3. Roadcraft is great thing, it does tell you about right road positioning, how to read each bend and to be safe on the road - you are to ride safe, smoothly, progressively and well. I know what that is as couple of month ago I was awarded "silver" in riding, great experience!
  4. Funny enough, this morning I created similar thread! 🙂 Lexus Glasgow is on the list but does not participate in the scheme either and getting a Gold membership was the main reason so I could get some form of discount! I have not tried Halfords discount yet though but hope at least that one works!
  5. What a great thread and great advices above! I am not looking for work now but I will be following this thread as it has a lot of useful information what to do on ANY job interview! Thanks everyone! Matthew Good Luck! I agree with that selling something you have a respect for is much easier!
  6. Hi everyone, Did anyone had their LOC Golden Membership discount refuse at the Lexus dealer? The main reason to become a Gold Member was to get 10% discount on parts and labour at Lexus Glasgow garage and when I presented a card all of them (Parts&Service Departments) were very surprised as they never had seen anything like that before and obviously didn't except the card! They just said they are not part of this forum and never heard of it! What do I do here? Why does it says in Golden Membership that Lexus Glasgow in it but it's not? Did anyone use their card in this garage? Thanks you for any comments.
  7. I am thinking about changing the dealer tbh, Lexus Glasgow refused to accept my Club Discount so what is the point to have it? Well, I will create a thread about it. THe prices you mention above are crazy cheap - can't be Lexus! Thanks Rayaans.
  8. Linas I agree with you here on all points as it happened to me a FEW times, be it merging or outside lane (even middle) lane slow moving!
  9. Nicely said John but only if most drivers followed the code or at least majority, based on how many drivers still tailgating and still drive in the middle lane on motorway this is not the case! I passed my driving test twice, 1st time in my country and 2nd time I did that in UK 11-12 years ago and since then didn't have any points or fines, touch wood, so I can't say I am a dangerous or a bad driver but sometimes I feel happy/lucky that i drive a car that can accelerate fast. Anyway, this is nothing to do with GS end in the UK, I love GS and I feel sorry it is being discontinued from UK and I do not believe ES will be better for me.
  10. James, you aright, sorry, it does sound provocative, I guess. Here is a scenario: Traffic light, 2 lanes going straight, the left one can also turn left (typical UK junction), most drivers will be on outside lane and I will go to the inside and by reading the road and traffic lights on side roads I can be first off the line and nicely join the outside lane 50m further and I don't think I would be doing this in 1.2 Corsa or similar car, so what I am saying is my car powerfull enough to do that maneuver but a lot people don't like it and call it "that idiot BMW driver just cut me off"! I am not sure my point get across, sorry if it doesn't, the downfall not having English language as a 1st language. Or: my boss thinks I am a fast driver because I used to overtake him on outside lane on a roundabout, I did that because I could maintain slightly higher speed in BMW that he could on his JEEP Renegade and when we where on motorway he went 80mph and I settled to a cruise of 65mph so who is a faster or more dangerous it's hard to say, isn't it? But because I drove BMW I am the one who are called dangerous driver.
  11. No problem at all John, i just think it is unfair to say that about any particular car manufactures, anyway, there is no point to discuss these drivers in this thread.
  12. Uau! Big letters? Were you insulted by BMW driver and can't let it go? I see more AUDI drivers driving aggressive and inconsiderable then BMW drivers, at least it is where I am and even more than AUDI drivers white van drivers, these should be shot on site straight away! Of course, there are individuals with BMWs that drive crazy but they are being talked about on BMW forum as well – nobody likes them especially people on the forum. I also think that there are more BMW/AUDI drivers as more these cars are sold than say Lexus and most cars on PCP/company cars or driven by younger drivers who are tending to drive anything you give them irresponsibly, they do not care about car repairs or road conditions as they have the car only for 2-3 years. Most BMW owners I know have families and they like to take it slow (even if they have 535d or 535i engine) and just enjoy the comfort etc as they own the car in most cases. Also many other drivers just jealous because they can’t do what BMW/AUDI drivers can as they are scared to do it or in most cases their car won’t let them, well, just my opinion.
  13. Hey, what do you all have against BMW forum? I am on one of them, has been for years and it's a great forum! You can actually learn how proud the owners are of their cars, how friendly and helpful they are, stop slugging BMW forum!
  14. What about leather cleaning wipes that moisturize as well as clean? Even with dodo juice or Lexus leather kit how often is it advisable to clean the leather, does anyone know?
  15. I always go for OEM wipers, previously I used to buy cheaper alternatives (Bosch, Valeo etc) and even though it says on the box these are for your car model the wipers were shorter (up to 1"!) or noisy or were rubbish after a few months of usage and I never ever had a problems with OEM wipers that last longer (much longer), quieter and a proper size. I know these are more expensive but I am willing to pay that.
  16. How do you get garage do stuff for free? last time I was in the Glasgow Lexus garage they even charged me £12.30 for coding my windows even though someone on the forum said it was done for free in his local garage! I doubt Lexus Glasgow would do anything for free! On another note, last time I was quoted from them for front wipers £75, I called them yesterday and the price was £62.50! Sound like they make up these prices and it is not just Lexus, all the manufacture garages like that, this is mafia! No one has control over them IMO, it is like buying plane tickets to go away on kids holidays, the price is quad ripple in some cases - rip off! I also asked GL about the discount I have being a Gold Member on the LOC forum and he was also very surprised and said he never heard of it but he can give me a discount anyway! This is 2nd time it happened to me, 1st one was in Service department.
  17. You are right, balsam is made from all the stuff above, also on a tab it says Cleans, Conditions, preserves and helps waterproof leather. I will be in Lexus tomorrow and will have a look the kit you are talking about, thanks for heads up Peter.
  18. I am not sure but will check, I have the tab in the car, I wanted to make sure the leather is soft and doesn't crack with age and use.
  19. Is there a rule on how often to do it? I use Renapur Leather Balsam 200ml and since I bought GS (2 month ago) I have done the leather (driver seat) probably 3 times, I guess this is too much?
  20. BMW with that power (similar to GS450h) will be more rewarding but it also will be less (much less) comfortable with crushy and noisier suspension. Friend of mine drove me yesterday in his BMW e60 535d that has about 340-360bhp (mapped) and as much as I love BMW and still admire e60 shape I had no regrets to go Lexus! Plus BMW will be lighter due to not having hybrid batteries which helps handling.
  21. I heard that as well, I think I seen it in Russian magazine, the words were - from 30mph it takes off like a plane! Also didn't Jeremy Clarkson said the same thing about Golf GTI 2.0ltr turbo, Mk5?
  22. 0-62mph is important to me and it's not that accelerate often to 60 using all the power but it is good to know the car can do it. When I search the car or just look at the car on Autotrader I always put 2 filters on - Auto gearbox (my wife would hate manual) and Acceleration 0-8sec. It would be great to have something like under 5sec car but at the moment pass. So to me anything below 8sec is interesting.
  23. Exterior is not a bad design, quite modern but interior, hmm, I just don't like these 2 little "horns" behind the wheel on top of the dashboard and central panel looks to much like a Toyota but of better quality, much better. Is it still worth extra 10k (euros) over Camry? Especially K have read a new Camry is a very good car!
  24. Couldn't agree more! In my opinion it is actually safer even in day to day driving.
  25. Chris is right, the mpg should be better, I am getting out of mine 39+mpg average, for example my BMW e60 525d on the same route (mostly home-work-home) was getting 35-37mpg!
