  1. Just a quick update, over the last weekend I left my car with the guy who does car interior refurb, just found the guy online. he had a go tried to adjust things and add a bit more foam to a seat base, it is better now but nothing as good as it should be, I can still feel it's not right. That'e me almost £200 down and the issue is still kind of there, I am sure the guy did the best he could but it is not perfect. No idea what to do now. This issue and skipping front tires at very slow speed really kill all the enjoyment from the car!
  2. Hi all, How much do you pay for your insurance? I knew Lexus is in high insurance group but renewal is £875! This is me with 12years NCB and my wife with 8years NCB! Every year the price goes up, as last year (I changed cars half way through) it was £859! That is just a rip off that is made legal!!!
  3. Welocme to LOC! Is it a brand new GS you paid a deposit for? It will be 2 long weeks! lol!
  4. I don't like that thing, I don't get used to understeer at 5-10mph and don't think it is right. Might five Lexus a call and see what they think of it.
  5. I am not sure, I tried to find a paper slip this morning but somehow I don't have it. When I was buying a car the seller did show me results from 4 wheel tracking that was done. I guess another proper tracking is required or proper winter tires! 🙂 If not sogging driver seat base (I mentioned in another thread) and this skipping tire issue the car would be perfect!
  6. That's looks great! And the price for the mileage is not bad at all!
  7. I have as per book tire pressure i.e 2.4 bar, I tried last week 2.7 bar on all four wheels and the ride was hursh and uncomfortable so I dropped it down back to 2.4bar, I might try add a little more pressure just for experimenting purposes. I have a standard wall height 45 (235/45 R18), may be it is due to lower temperatures but this is very annoying, the car understeers really badly at lower speed, the thing is the tracking and wheel alignment was done a few month ago before I bought the car!
  8. Just checked tire thread, 3.9-4mm at the sides and 4.2mm minumin at the middle of the tire. Tires are Pirelli P Zero by the way.
  9. It's actually was so bad (tire skipping) in a last couple of weeks that I will check tire thread today and might make an appointment with Lexus, well, unless I need a new front tires. It actually ridiculous how front tires move forward at low speeds with more than half a lock, I never ever had such a feeling on any car I owned! Do all rear driven Lexus has this issue! Shocking!
  10. Hi, I am like Gareth (@Pink) above came from an e60 525d and BMW was better from driving point of view, seats had more support in them and much better heaters in them. I think Lexus is much comfier and quieter, I am much calmer driver in Lexus too so better for my license. My Lexus is more expensive to insure though. CVT box, I guess it takes time to get used to, CVT is very smooth and I liked in BMW a kick in the back when you floor the accelerator! Interior is better quality on my Lexus, cooling seat option is great, great Mark Levinson music as I hated the quality of the music in e60. I preferred an e60 i-drive system to Lexus but I think by now I got used to it so no biggy. I also like the rarity of the car on the road, it is too many BMW out there just now, plus Lexus is more relaible and I do not have on a back of mind mind that something will go wrong shortly - EGR, DPF etc.
  11. Cheapest in Wipers world do not mean good or even acceptable, I usually go for a OEM (main dealer) wipers, it's not cheap but from my experience on many cars it does the job better than anything else on the market.
  12. Uau! That's quite a step from Smart to a SUV Lexus! You will notice the difference and not in size only but in fuel consumption as well! lol! Welcome to LOC David!
  13. Hi Ken, welcome back to the forum! I hope you won the lottery so you made a Bucket List and nothing really bad is happening in your life!
  14. Similar experience with Lexus Glasgow, last time I had things done and asked for a LOC discount which was refused as they never saw it before in their life, after some discussion they said that the price given already with discount but that due to they no me and nothing to do with Golden membership here. On a good note - a week ago I popped in to a Halfords and my discount card worked (1st time use) even though the staff did not recognise it at 1st but then just scanned it and accepted it.
  15. Other car in the family is this - my wife loves it! And my little toy below.
  16. £12.50 from Lexus? Thats not bad!
  17. You have a point! I can't remember when I saw another GS last time! lol I never thought about seat renovation company but it is a good advice, thanks @Hangie
  18. I do not know how they checked the heating but according to them it is working as it should. According to them everything is fine apart from little deformation of the foam which deformed within tolerances. A Cushion it is! lol!
  19. That is exactly what the guy at the Service Desk said, but, if it is the case they should have more complaints and solution to this, I am sure other car seats can take extra heavy people and be fine!
  20. Lexus Glasgow but I bought the car not from the Lexus dealer.
  21. Picked the car up today from Lexus, nothing they could find that is broken, just typical foam tear and wear, seat heating is working as they expect it to work so nothing wrong with the seat but they agreed that it is not the same as passenger side and should not be the way it is but nothing they can do so I paid £91.20 for investigation and left the garage with no solution to my problem! Not happy! Grrr!
  22. I still think it is just a Lexus thing, as I mentioned above I had a few rear driven cars and none of them done any "skipping". Today I took my wife's car to work, her car has 45 profile tyres (same as my GS) with less than 3mm of thread at the front and at exact the same conditions (outside temp. and cold tires) the wheels did not skip a bit, may be because she drives a front wheel drive car. Anyway, I think it is suspension geometry design by Lexus, strange to me to be honest.
  23. It is the right choice Jeff. I have heard blackcircles are very competitive.
  24. It will be so hard to remember for me and I am not joking!
  25. Hi Mark, I hope this will be the case! No idea how much it will cost otherwise - something I would like to avoid before Christmas!
