  1. Hi Dan,thanks for offering your help! Do you do car insurance as well? Thanks Vlad
  2. Uau! £250! That's holidays for you!
  3. It doesn't make sense - parking in the garage is more expensive than parking on the street, why if the garage is safer? Do they think you are richer if you have a house with the garage and they take advantage of it?
  4. I have Avon's on the back, good tyres but not as cheap as Kumho would be, I think mine were about £110 per tyre, I did not buy them but the garage I got the car from put them on for me.
  5. Shahpor, this increase would drive me mad, this is quite a lot, from £250 to £850!!! On what base? And who knows if number of accidents are higher, I think insurance just makes stuff up like this! When I moved within Glasgow, a few years ago, to a quieter area, closer to Primary school, more respectable area my premium went up as well something like by £100, when I asked insurance why the answer was - there was more car theft reported in that area! I am still staying at the same address.
  6. Hi Vick, Welcome to LOC, sorry to hear about the health of your day,I hope he will get better. I can't advice on Lexus issue but good luck with it all. Vlad
  7. Congratulations! 🙂
  8. Hi John, never heard that before, is that for a fact that GS 450h has a slip diff?
  9. I am the same - very impatient when it comes collecting cars, can't sleep! lol! A few years ago when i was on my way to pick up a BMW a bought I had a phone call from sales rep saying we need to keep a car for a few more days as they found that one of the window switches do not work so it will need replacing, oh God it was long few days! 🙂
  10. What is it - preloaded visa debit card? It came up before on other threads while discussing Michelin.Cross Climates has a very good reviews! They are expensive for my GS but something worth considering.
  11. Nope, never used Kris Knott, it never came up on through confused or compare the market so I never considered them. What do you mean brokers, how are they different to other providers?
  12. Totally right, there is no loyalty in staying with anyone like car insurance, internet provider or utility! Search around is the way!
  13. Paid the insurance yesterday, £580 including Legal Cover from More Than, better than was quoted initially from Tesco (£875!)
  14. Hi Paul, I had KU39 on my BMW e60 525d and they were fantastic especially after runflats! I agree with Lee above KU39 probably a bit on a softer side but still a good tyre. Kumho is highly rated on BMW forum.
  15. Hi Martin, I am the same with the GS, the insurance quote it went through the rough, we did some comparison online and we can get cheaper price but it still almost £600 (not £875 though). There is no one who would put a leash on insurance companies, this is just money making machine, no wonder people screwing them over if they have a chance!
  16. You are a good man George, most people (most likely I am one of them) would drive off after this but you stayed and tried to warn people! Well done and thanks for drivers like you!
  17. At very slow speeds when the wheel at half to full lock you get this, like understering effect - you turn right but the car still goes almost straight! I was talking to a friend of mine who thinks that I have this because the front of the car considerably light and the back with the battery is heavy, so when it's dump cold, dusty etc the front wheels just do not have enough pressure on them to resist rear wheels pushing forward.
  18. I had Kumho on my BMW and was very with these ad no regrets. When I was in Korea last year I have been told that Kumho is a number 2 tire in South Korea (Hankook is no1), from my experience I would say they are at the top of the medium range tires.
  19. Stephen thank you for sharing regards winter tires. That is what I am afraid of, I buy new winter tires but the problem will stay, as you say I am thinking it is a suspension geometry thing.
  20. I probably would have to! Not sure it will cure the problem completely though.
  21. It is interesting, every renewal I had was much higher than the cheapest on line! Until now Tesco managed to be competitive but with Lexus they went through the roof!
  22. Hello @Admin, is there any news regards this issue with GOLD membership and some dealers? Many thanks
  23. I am pretty sure tires will play a biggest role in this situation and if I had something cheap like Wanli or smth I would expect that quality but having Pirreli with 4mm of thread that's shocking, we should have a recall or a lawsuit to sort that! If I don't sell the car I will need to think what tires will be best to avoid 'skipping" effect, it will probably be an all season tire anyway.
  24. There is a dealer in Edinburgh but I am positive they won't find anything! With extra adding padding to a seat base and some adjustments I think I got it more or less comfy and it does not feel THAT saggy any more, still not perfect though.May be a cushion is the best option at the end of the day! lol! I saw in LIDL heated seat cover last night, just £12.99, hmmm! :)
  25. I am 38YO, had an accident 4 almost 5 years ago and it was not my fault, I have no idea why it would cost THAT much, TESCO insurance got too greedy I say! Quick search yesterday and I got price for £420 with Go Skippy! It's a shame as I was with Tesco for last 5-6 years! More searching will be done today! Thanks for your input guys.
