I know a guy who bought an ES last year on one of these events and Lexus took of the price £4k! Another example, someone else I know bought a Merc E-class through VIP event as it was a good deal, so who knows!? 😁 I am having a day off anyway plus I will be near Glasgow anyway so decided to accept an invitation. Will see how it goes.

Hi all, I booked myself in for a VIP event in Lexus Glasgow next week! No idea what to expect! Did anyone attend (I am sure some people did) one of these? Did anyone buy a car during VIP event? Do they really making you a great offer? Just never attended one. Thanks

I know how you feel wrt to harsh riding, I took an ES F=sport for a test drive and on Scottish roads (lets blame these not the car) it was very disappointing, any pothole, joints all were shuddering the car, I have no idea why they offer F-Sport as a demonstrators as Lexus is not about harsh and crashy ride! I liked the seats though and it does look nice, very nice!

Washed the car today, even though rain is promised. Also attached rear mudflaps I received from China couple of weeks back. Still need to do front ones. Here are some photos.

I only agree with point 3, for some people they are all valid of course. To me point 1 is not real as initially you spend on a car like £10k more that a standard hybrid and you can buy lots of petrol for £10k or £8k whatever the difference. If you take car for 48 months most likely you will not redeem the price difference at initial purchase. Point 2 - it is true that you don't have to stop often on longer route but then you are carrying all that additional weight of the batteries and burning more fuel, i think 350h would be more economical on longer routes. Anyway, this is just my opinion.

@zanderblue congrats! The car looks very nice! It's hard to see on a boot, is it a 350 or a 450?

I am keeping OEM lights too, just in case my better half decides at some point it is too bright.😁

If any one is interested in difference in lightening intensity/colour after changing sunvisor lights to a different LED. The one on the right is the new LED from China.

Now, for the last couple of months it is always dark in Scotland! 🙂 It fixed the flickering light as well, so I am happy with that too. 😉

I also started swapping some of the interior lights, so far changed the light in the boot, now it is much brighter and does not flicker like an old one did. Another one I swapped was above driver sun visor, it is brighter and whiter colour now. Still got a few more to change. Plus tried on mudflaps, also from China, they are not exactly my model specific, rear ones fit ok actually but the front ones might need to be fiddled with a little during installation. Will do this job when it is not as windy as it was last week.

Fitted Indicator into my outside mirror, as the old one was smashed by oncoming traffic. The indicator is from China but fitted car pretty well.

If reliability you after you could go with Toyota or Honda, or KIA. But you went for a Lexus, right? To me the answer would be because they are well built inside, from plush materials and every switch feels expensive and to have that material even on these places is a bit cost cutting and therefore disappointing a little. Saying that I would gladly consider it as my new car and hopefully will have a test drive next week.

Tend not to make a contact is a bad excuse, in my opinion, for a luxury brand or on a car that cost like a small apartment. Even if you do not have a proper contact with it, it just looks cheap and God if you put in that pocket an ice scraper or a coin or something it will be rattling like hell!

I had a test drive of ES on Friday but also had a chance to look (not drive) at NX that garage had, it was 450h+ F Sort Takumi, I was surprised but salesman said now you can get not just F Sport or Takumi but you can get both! Lovely car, nice shape, enough space and a dash board is very good compared to the old model! One thing I do not get, no Mark Levinson on 450h and the worst is door bins - they are small and the whole lower panel is made from very cheap and scratchy plastic, why?! I drive Corsa just now, it has exactly the same quality material! It is not just cheap, it also has no padding inside or any soft material to prevent rattle of whatever might end up there! Sad. Apart from it, Lexus Glasgow should get an NX350h within next couple of weeks and I will test drive it as it is a nice car to look at and sit in! I was very disappointed with ES, it was in F Sport guise and the suspension not comfortable and very crushy, not my cap of tea but I will gladly try a Standard spec next time.

It was about 3 weeks @Shahpor. Quality? Hard to say, the indicator looks identical to the one I removed from my Lexus, will it fit? I hope so! LEDs no idea on quality and if they will fit the car. Mudflaps I expected to be a little more rubberised i.e softer, I hope they will fit rear bumper and front wings spot on, will let you know later, with photos of course! 🙂

Just received today mine Driver Mirror Indicator, interior LEDs and a set of mudflaps, all from China. Now I need to wait for the car to come back from the garage where it is now being rectified after the accident repairs.

Alan, what are your thoughts on a new NX? A huge step of improvement on old NX? How is the ride in NX350h? Is it quite? Sorry for all these questions, you probably already said all that above! 🙂 I will hopefully have a go on NX450h this Friday.

With that power and range it will be probably a £100k car!

ix3 - I was not impressed, it is build on an old ICE platform and to carry extra weight of batteries they stiffened up the suspension, now it feels unnatural and a little bouncy (not crashy) on small road imperfections but the same time was quite (without a bang) going over manholes! It is not as quite as i4 too, 20inch tyres and big mirrors bring a road noise in. It is fast enough, well build inside but for the money they ask for it, my opinion it is not worth it, test car came at £74k roughly. iX3 also looks massive, big bonnet in front of you when you sit behind the steering wheel but car is a typical BMW so it drives well, though, it is a rear wheel drive only. One thing - when I sat back into my GS, I felt at home! Yes it is not as quick, suspension not as sophisticated etc but it is mine, I paid for it! 🙂

Thanks, I watched yesterday carwow video on maximum range and EV6 beat all the opponents with 273 miles covered on motorway. I will take a look at this one. I only think as a Kia they should be a few grand cheaper!😁
