Thanks Phil for an advice. I just pumped the tyre and there is a cut, not massive but it is on a side of the tyre so not repairable, took a few photos anyway. Will get in touch with council ASAP! Do I call them or just go to Council online and fill the form? Does anyone knows? Thanks Phil again.

Hi all, never thought it would happen to me but with so many potholes around Glasgow this was just a matter of time. Basically, run over pothole, heard a very unpleasant noise when it happen (when your suspension hits the bump) and thought straight away - it will be a damaged alloy wheel, burst tyre or even damaged suspension! For 4 seconds all was quite which gave me hope but 3 seconds later the tyre pressure monitor came on and I though - this is it, that was MY pothole! Checked the tyre which was losing pressure which seemed like from the side cut (it was already dark outside and ****** with rain), so parked safely and put on a spare wheel. Came home, washed the flat tyre, took it home and I can't find the cut or the place where it burst, which tells me may be it is just a seal between the wheel and the tyre. I will get a compressor out and try to inflate it and see what happens. The worry I have is damage I do not see i.e possibility of the bulge in tyre in a near future, damaged alloy wheel or even a suspension! I took a few photos of the pothole, as good as I could considering the time and the weather, in case i need these. Did that happen to you? What should I do? Who do I complain about it and will it get me anywhere? I think I would have more chances if the tyre was visually damaged but it's not, however, I am afraid of the internals of the tyre, the wheel and suspension. Also going away tomorrow for 10 days holidays is not helping as I can't even takes the photos of the pothole during day light! Any advice would be appreciated! Many thanks Vlad

Lexus servicing
Vlady replied to Lager shandy's topic in RX 300 / RX 350h / RX 400h / RX 200t / RX 450h+ / RX 500h Club
Yep, service cost is crazy at the dealer, mine would be around £540-580! I bought all required items for a service from Lexus Glasgow and changed it at BMW garage where friend of mine works. Saved probably 70% of money! But if you want Lexus warranty you must have service done with them and most do for a stamp in the book! -
Well, just had a text from Lexus Glasgow that my car is ready to be picked up and not a single word about pads, so I called them and they confirmed that the pads are correct. Anyway, I think this is me being stupid and I should remember it - the pads have a chamfer at outer edge and the thinner pad gets the bigger area is covered! Wheel Alignment was quite off and had to be done, I felt that for a last month or so, the car just wasn't stable at motorway speeds and felt like a boat moving within a line and always required an input from steering wheel. I hope I will feel the difference! I miss the car already and will pick it up on Friday as I am working away for a few days. Thanks to Lexus Glasgow, the car was booked for the job above for this Friday but they agreed to take it earlier and keep it for a few days while I am away and look, they have done it all today! Well done! I think the overall price is about £118. Vladimir

Dropped my Lexus off at Lexus Glasgow with 4-off new tyres to be fitted and wheel alignment to be done. Also asked them to check rear pads, I bought these from them couple months ago and noticed that they a bit smaller then the old ones as rust is appearing at the edge of the brake discs which tells me that the pads they sold to me are not correct ones and probably for GS250/300h! I received a report today on complimentary health report and everything came up green, I am glad! Even rear pads are green! I just hope they will call me to discuss this issue! Will see!

@i-s thanks for the review, wonderful and very interesting to read! Seems like a very good car, only road noise would upset me (I am being spoiled by GS).

Hi Scott, welcome!

I had one of these cushions, didn't like it and thrown it away. 1st of all the car started giving me an electric shock after every journey and 2nd of all heated seats did not work as good, especially I find the GS seat being one of the worst heated seats I ever experienced! Add cushion to it and you need to wait a long time to feel the heat at your bottom! I asked Lexus Glasgow about the problem above (heated seats and uneven seat base foam wear), they checked it and said all is fine! But gave me a quote of £400 if I want to change the seat foam with them.

Welcome Kat! They say Volvos are almost as good built as Lexus! Apart from diesel in your Vovlo, what else you don't like, if I may ask. Vlad.

Very nice car, may be when I win a lottery! 🙂

Well done Peter, I like your thread here. I like these wheel spacers too. Tell me more about Induction air filter, does it make a difference to performance? Also, lets see your LED rear lights. 🙂

Thanks Steve, tyres do mean a lot, I remeber when I swap Run Flats to Non-run flats, the feeling was like driving a different car, loved it! I am waiting to put on my Lexus 4 new Good year all season, can't imagine what to expect, should be comfier and quiter. Will find out next month! :) So, new CT is still using an old platform though, right? As I can't remember reading about completely NEW CT in press. I am sorry Thomas to high jack your thread. Just was curious. Thanks

Hi Thomas, very nice, congratulations to your father! I have a question, is this new CT based on a newer platform than the first CT's? I think (I might be mistaken) the first CTs were based on Auris or even previous gen Toyota Prius and some owners were not happy with the way it drove and even mpg? Just wondering if it is a different car, thats all. Thanks
