The car looks very nice! Congratulations!

Steven you are welcome! By the sound of it you do like the car! 🙂 It is a good car and should be easy to work on. Regards tyres wear on inner edges - I would say it is most likely wheel alignment and having the steering wheel out by 1-2deg also suggests that alignment is a must! Keep an eye on car behaviour during longer trip, it might want to steer left or right if you let the steering wheel go this is also will suggest a need for wheel alignment. Good luck and enjoy the car! We want to see some photos of that car colour of yours! And Interior too! 🙂

@ColinBarber if it was a blue one I probably wouldn't buy it! 🙂 Thanks again Colin! Have a good weekend!

WHEEL REFURBISH
Vlady replied to Burroo 67's topic in RX 300 / RX 350h / RX 400h / RX 200t / RX 450h+ / RX 500h Club
On my previous car the Refurbish Shop suggested also another colour which was different to a standard silver, it was more like a gun grey metallic, so I agreed and the finish was awesome! My previous car was blue in colour though. -
Shahpor, thanks. 🙂 I think it is a limited run, that sticker was on it when I got it, can't believe if it is a limited run and I got one of them! Big thanks to @ColinBarber for providing that link! The wheels do not make much difference but I have couple of model made by Maisto and these are very good as well, like soft suspension, spinning wheels, open doors etc! Yes, I need to think of Display case now, at the moment all the models are behind the glass on the shelf but still get dusty, plus I have a few air plane models (still got 2 more to build and 1 tank!) so I need more space! If I decide to go for an open shelf then I defo would need a display cases, for car models. 🙂

Welcome Michael, I agree with the above - plenty reading now since you joined us! Can I ask, why Lexus and an old one? Did you have to choose between other cars? Photos of the car are very welcomed to! 😉

Unboxed the model and it is made of metal (the body) and looks and feels expensive and I am glad I have it. Couple things that are a little upsetting apart from none of the doors, bonnet do not open, the wheels do not have suspension and do not even rotate and the windscreen with rear screen is made of very thin plastic, very thin. You easily bend it by placing your finger on it, I would expect it to be a thicker plastic. Anyway, a few more photos of the model everyone! I hope you like it too!

The parcel has arrived! Huuuraaah! Not fully opened it yet but so far the quality looks great! I do not know why it says its resin but it feels metal to me, based on the weight of the model it feels solid!

Lee i think this is great piece of kit! I should get it long time ago. Now, lets hope your battery can take and then hold the charge! 🙂

I am sad to see this happen, really I am! They do they ES is a great car (good looking IMO) so who knows, may be one day (hopefully in a 5-8 years time, as I like my GS) I will buy one! Or will have to go back to BMW!
-
@Shahpor! No way it was the last one! Usually I am not that lucky! I thought it might be the case (that is way I talked myself to buy it) but usually doesn't happen in my life that often! I will get photos here when I get the model, I hope it will be worth it! I know sooner or later I would buy it but with 30% off I couldn't refuse even though now is not the best time to spend these money! @Shahpor if my wife decides to kick me out on delivery of this, I will let you know as I will be forced to sell it! lol! 🙂

Colin! I hate you! 😉 Ordered! 🙂 😞
-
I will tell you, if my GS model was that much I would already buy it! 🙂
-
What a beautiful models these are! I really want one (GS) but in a current market condition I can't afford to spend more then £200 on a model, well, I hope I day I will! @rock on and @B1RMA thank you guys for taking time and sharing with us photos, I love these models! Great! @B1RMA I agree with you regards KYOSHO details of the model, it does look much simpler (compared to my current stock of auto models) i.e you can't open the bonnet, doors etc and it still cost over £200!

My rare Mesa Red Is200t F-Sport
Vlady replied to Chris.S's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
Very nice! Beautiful color! -
Haven't driven my GS for more than a week and reading all the comments above I decided to charge the battery, as a precaution only. 2 weeks ago I charged it as a Normal battery with RECOND option On, only later I found out that my battery is AGM! So this time I selected AGM mode (not RECOND) and put it on, it has been 4 hours since then and only 4th LED is lit. Will wait! 🙂 My motorcycle battery was connected to CTEK for 3 or 4 days constantly, just to keep battery charged as I am not using the bike now (it is being repaired).

Many thanks guys for the info, I can see it is not that bad! My friend in his late 40's and he loves his SAAB (I think being 97 reg it has done only 35k! miles) and in the last 3 years he said nothing broke so it is quite reliable but the insurance prices he was dealing with last year made me think that all older cars are subjected to it. May be there are other factors I am not aware off like post code, no garage, younger (well my age) wife as a 2nd driver, who knows?! Oh well, I will pass to him this info guys! Many thanks Happy Easter Monday!

Guys with old LS/GS models, I mean like 97-2000 years of production, can I ask you how much you pay for your can insurance please? I have a friend with Saab 9000 1997, automatic with 3.0ltr engine, he said his insurance vary from &1500 and up, he has like 8-10 years NCB and the quote from his older insurance was £3500, their answer to his phone call was - the car is too old and getting parts is impossible! SO the only was he managed to get price down is to insure it as a Classic with very limited miles! Do you all suffer from it? I am just curious. Thanks in advance Vlad

@mr2lad nice car! I like your number plates too! 🙂

Thanks Luigi. I had to go and check what battery I have - it is Panasonic S65D26R, I looked for a spec on it and nothing comes up that tells me if it is aAGM battery or not, it only says Maintenance Free. I also went trough a manual and there is nothing on the type of the battery in GS450h, weird! My 2009 BMW had an AGM battery even though it was not stop-start system in the car.
