  1. K welcome and congratulations on a new car! I see you are another runner from BMW marque! 🙂
  2. I bought wind deflectors for my previous car (BMW), it wasn't Heko though but what I didn't like is that it felt like the windows was always slightly open because of the clips that are inserted in the window channel and therefore the window wasn't sealed so i could hear slight draft, I quickly removed these and never bothered again.
  3. Vlady

    New lad

Very nice Jon, congratulations and welcome to LOC!
  4. Not big fan of the interior but I actually quite like the exterior design. Did they change anything inside?! Current IS headlights are to small IMO, this one looks decent and I like the rear of the car. Will I be the only one who likes it? 🙂
  5. Will do John, thank you.
  6. Thanks gents for support. Do you think I need to contact Sheriff Court first or I better send an email to Council saying that if they don't want it peacefully then I will be contacting the court? As Graham suggested I will try to find more reports online and see if there is anything regards that road. Many thanks everyone!
  7. Roget, this is how I feel - disappointed and furious. I honestly thought it will never happen to me as I consider myself a careful driver and even sometimes think that other drivers that follow me thinking I am drunk but all I do is avoiding potholes (on some of the roads) or slowing down significantly when I know the road ahead is in bad condition. I thought I covered everything, I took photos, I kept the damaged tyre (still have it), I kept all the receipts and still can't win it. I even got my neighbor to go with me to show that pothole and he took some photos too, so I even have a witness but Council says they were not aware of the road damage at that location, I have seen their latest report (almost a month before I hit it) and it does say nothing i.e no damage could be seen at that time. What surprises me is that it was reported (according to council) on 20th of December by 2 drivers and the pothole was fixed the same day, how can it be!? Anyway, I would keep on them but I do not know how to check if that particular pothole was reported to Council prior me hitting it.
  8. Coupe weeks ago I found that 2 brackets under the rear bumper (tow hooks possibly?) are a bit rusty and one of the exhaust connections is quite rusty too, so I used wire brush as much as I could and then sprayed it with black primer (spray on rust) and then I bought a can of black matt spray that you can use on bbq's and stoves so it looks much nicer now. I hope it will stay there. Now I think of it, I probably should de-grease it first before spraying it!
  9. Andy welcome to LOC and enjoy the car and the forum! Is it your first Lexus? Add photos of the car! 😉
  10. Hi Graham, thanks for your input, yes, council will try anything to avoid responsibility, otherwise they would be paying anyone, I guess. What's pisses me off is that I have photos o the pothole, damage tyre and I still can't win it! Inspection report I have says that the road to be checked 12 times a year (8 by car and 4 by foot, roughly every month), last time it was checked on 20th of November so the next time would be 20th of December (+/- 5 days) and I hit the pothole on 17th of December. Last inspection report (on 20th of November) says there were no defects on the road and between last inspection and the 20th of December there were no complaints from drivers about that bit, the only 2 they had was on 20th of December and it was fixed the same day, this is what I call service! 🙂 I do not know how to check if this road was reported before, all I could find that this (see below), it is dated as February but someone put a comment that this was reported for the last 6 months! I have sent this screenshot to the council and they didn't comment on it.
  11. Phil I agree, it takes ages to for the council to do anything and in my case this was fixed the same day after 2 reports, very suspicious! It is hard to believe that there were no reports (it was a big pothole) and then one day 2 reports appeared and council fixed it straight away! Ideal world, huh?! 🙂 I think every government makes the same promise, every 4-5 years, when new elections are, to fix the roads, to invest more in the roads and then all happens the same, money being spent through private companies who take the money of the government and do not give a **** how good it was repaired, actually the worth it is fixed the quicker they need to come back to it and charge the council again! Road repairs should be controlled and fixed by council and not private companies! And not patched up but properly excavated, cleaned and then fixed. And these stones Phil, it is common sense , isn't it? Just clean these, obviously they damage the new tarmac!
  12. Received another email from council (more accurate from FOIreviews), looks like I am going to loose this fight as I can't prove that the Council knew about that pothole. I hit the pothole on 17th and it was fixed on 20th of December, apparently 2 people complaint about this pothole on 20th and Council fixed it the same day, I really doubt that they can react that quickly but this is the answer I have. I have seen some reports online about that pothole but apparently these were made not directly to Council but through other firms (like fixmyroad etc). I am very surprised Council didn't know about it but their records show they didn't, unless I was provided only with what they want me to see. So everyone please report these stupid potholes to your Local Council (no one else) as otherwise drivers like me won't get a chance to reclaim money back for the damage caused by the wonderful roads we have in UK!
  13. Hi Dimitar and welcome to the forum, you did a good thing registering for this forum and you will get plenty suggestions and real life experience comments here. If it was me I would buy RX (especially facelifted model as I prefer the interior to the old one), it id bigger car at the back with bigger boot, comfier and quieter. Tbh, all that based on what I have read here. Regards service and fuel consumption - RX is more expensive and less fuel efficient, I won't claim any numbers exactly but for one - RX service will be a little more expensive as it has 6 cylinder engine so when time comes for a big service you have more spark plug to change. Anyway, lets see what real owners have to say. In any case I think you wont be disappointed with the Lexus!
  14. The price is unrealistic! Plus the photos (angle of the photo) are crap!
  15. All the above a cool cars, very modern for their time! But I like this one very much!
  16. Hondas are good cars, I had a Civic (54 reg),it was spacious and very easy to drive, only if their interiors/dashboard were a little softer and not that cheap! Regards 1ltr bike, I had Yamaha Thundercat before this Honda and it was wilder even though it had 600cc engine but the horse power is almost identical to Honda. Again, Honda is very easy to ride as the engine is very torquy at lower revs! I am thinking of changing it to GS1200 or a Ducati Mulstistrada 1200S, I need to ride both of them and see what they like! 🙂
  17. Of course they are! I am the lucky owner of CBF1000 myself! 🙂 Welcome to the forum Trevor! What made you pick the Lexus and not another Honda?
  18. I would gladly update mine for a face lifted model, I checked the prices and at the moment it is too high, especially my GS does everything so well and has low (ish) mileage. Motorbike is the first to be replaced. 🙂 But first of all, lets see where we all will be after Corona! Our company is laying people off, about 40-50% of staff is to go!!! 😞
  19. Looks nice and smart! IMO rear wheels need spacers though.
  20. I have plenty photos Luigi but never thought to go to police, plus I was on my way to pick up my daughter from nursery and it also was last evening before we went on holidays for a couple of weeks, luckily i had enough time to take a few pictures. Also, Police department we had not far from us is shutdown! 😞 Well, I will let you guys know how it goes, I am still hoping for a happy ending.:)
  21. Steve, this is a great point, I will keep this in mind and use it as an example if I have to! 🙂 Knowing Council they might come up with all sorts of reasons so they don't reimburse me money. I will keep appealing again and again and again! I doubt they will even show me a report when the road was checked last time, I also asked them for a pothole repair schedule to see how quickly they react once they know there is a pothole on the road, doubt I get that as well! Thanks!
  22. I didn't do anything to my car for a few weeks now, I don't use it enough and the weather is not great to wash it, even though I would love spend a few hours cleaning it. Last night though, while locking my garage, I admired how well proportioned the car is, it was a nice sky as well so I took a few photos! I still love my GS! It is a building site where we stay and Persimmon is not working just now but I think the rough background makes the car look even nicer. 🙂
  23. Luigi that was a big deep pothole, you actually could see steel wires inside asphalt! It was also rainy evening, I honestly thought that I damaged the wheel and may be a suspension arm and I wasn't going fast either, maybe 20-25tops mph! I have 18inch wheeks Luigi on my Lexus with 45 tyres, may be next car to be an SUV! 🙂
  24. Got email from Glasgow Council, at least they confirmed that they received my complain! Another 20 days of waiting,I don't mind as long as I have a positive outcome out of it!
  25. I couldn't either (£200+) but that was a good deal, I think it was like 30% off in total so I had to snatch it, I knew sooner or later i would even pay £200! The model is beautiful!
