I always preferred rubber mats and all my previous cars had these, when I bought Lexus I could not find rubber mats for GS. After 2.5 years I got used to have carpet (OEM) mats on drivers side and 3 older rubber mats I removed from Passat I had a few years back for the back and front passenger footwell. Not pretty but my easier to clean!

Passed MOT today with Lexus Glasgow, all green and no advisories. As always, Service Department was great but I sadly agreed for them (Lexus) to wash my car and I think they better didn't touch it, very bad job and I am sure it was not 2 backet wash, why did I agree?! The car looks dirtier then it was when I went in, how is that possible?! I can't wait for a call from Lexus (I usually do receive it) to find out my opinion on todays visit, I have something to tell them! 🙂

£345? Hmm, If without labour, just the parts, it would cost about £250 then I would seriously consider to change them, I mentioned before, it is really easy, saying that, I am lazy too, I need to remove 4 wheels on Lexus (one by one), clear and lubricate the brakes and the alloys before the winter (or at least check the condition of sliding pins etc) and the main thing I need to do is to swap summer to winter wheels on my wife's car, hoping to do that all over weekend! Shorter days, colder days are not helping! 🙂

Hi Victor! Welcome to LOC! Usual question though, why Lexus and what did you have before? As all know, I moved from BMW so always curious why people choose Lexus at the end.

Was our LOC hacked? A lot of threads which are not on English, weird! I totally agree, it would be nice to have at least one other option in UK to go to apart from OEM! Thats good to hear @Shahpor, I do not drive mine often nowadays, last couple of weeks were mostly school run and shops. Brake wise, sometimes I do have a little vibration sometimes I don't. I booked an MOT this Friday, will see if Lexus Glasgow has any comments on brakes, I doubt they will though. I am going to ask how much it will be to buy new front discs and pads but don't expect it to be a bargain. The plan this weekend is to remove the wheels, clean them, protect them with PoorBoys and check the brakes (if it needs to be lubricated), last time I disassembled them (rear ones, front were fine) was about 6 months ago so before winter comes I better do it again. I've read about your squealing issue, I would think it is a wee stone got jammed between the rotor and heat plate at the back but it could be another things I guess. Well, I am glad yours is working fine now!

Hi Jakub, welcome to LOC. Do you want to relocate permanently to UK or temporary? If temporary I think you can use your Polish insurance, did you check with them? It is probably another story if you want to relocate permanently, then you better sell your ES (which seems like a very nice car) and buy something in UK (Lexus GS300) which will be cheaper to insure, service (possibly) and with much less headache while driving it. I think insurance will go up as insurers don't like taking risks like that and you will be a higher risk on the UK road with steering wheel being on another side plus the car is american so if accident does happen (hopefully never) they will most likely write the car off as to get parts to fix it won't be easy and cheap and quick. Garages might have the same excuse regards parts so they can charge you more, unless you can find a friendly garage to help you with your servicing. Not much help here from me, may be someone else has better answers to all your questions.

Mark, does Brembo do brake discs for Lexus GS450h Premier which has different/bigger brakes than even an GS F-Sport if I am not mistaken. When I had the same issue with brakes last year I struggled to find anyone to supply non-OEM brakes for my Premier model so it would be great to know if Brembo has them.

@Mr Vlad how do you find these tyres? My wife has them on Citroen and I can't fault them, also friend of mine has them on Skoda Superb and likes them too, they are quite and comfy. -

Very good results there Mr Vlad but I am sure the photos don't do it justice. I have black colour GS and polished it using DA polisher, even though I am a novice at it the results are amazing, I still got some scratches I need to work on! What I am saying I took couple of photos before and after and unless you enlarge them to see sun reflection on the paint you can't see the swirl marks and after the polish almost all of them gone! After all that work I done I refuse to wash the car! lol! 🙂 -
That squealing noise would drive me mad! As you say, I would expect Lexus technician to notice something out of normal when they were at it, or, all they did just visually checked all discs and pads without disassembling the callipers and lubricating every sliding part, including anti-squealing plate at the back of the pads. Can you remove the wheel and check if the whole assembly looks clean and lubricated without removing the calliper?

I use Polish Resin just now, still got enough for this season though. Thanks for the link, there is a lot of stuff to consider to buy, all very tempting, waxes, clothes, shampoos!
